Great place with friendly staff and a WIDE selection of cards from Magic The Gathering to Pokemon. If you need sleeves they have them, if you need deck boxes, they have them. If you need a really specific card, odds are they have it. This place is basically the Walmart for nerds. I love going there and will continue to do so.

Play or Draw is literally the best card shop I’ve been too. It’s awesome to see such a community built around this place, staff and ownership are very friendly and knows people by name. If you’re looking to sling some spells, pick up new figurines, or buy singles. They have the everything you need.

Went in for the first time today and all the staff were very friendly. They had exactly what I was looking for and I was so glad since it seemed like no other store around me had it but they did! They also had a lot of basically every TCG along with binders and pretty unique deck boxes, sleeves and some other accessories. They have a TON of bulk which I couldn't dig through but man I really wanted to. I will for sure be coming back in the future to buy some more stuff and dig through all the bulk

The family and I have visited this location on multiple occasions now for the last few months, and it has now become our local favorite Card Shop. The whole staff is super friendly and even more knowledgeable. They always keep things professional and are willing to help when available. It is because of the unique kindness the staff has shown us that my son has now developed an even deeper love for collecting.

Definitely recommend anyone come check them out for yourselves and enjoy the great selection of Magic, Pokemon, Binders, etc that they provide.

Awesome store with great selection of popular TCGs like Magic, Pokémon, YuGiOh and more. They also have a decent selection of ttrpg ranging from minis to source books for Dnd.

Recently started shopping here and have had nothing but good experiences. The staff is friendly.

I take my son 2-3 a month and he gets lots of pokemon cards for cheap from the binder.  He also enjoys sorting all the 25c to 50c loose cards. Great place for pokemon lovers. I'm glad we have one in the west valley

Play or Draw has always been welcoming and fair! Been coming here for years and enjoy trying to come at least once a week! I hope they continue for a long time, definitely a place that makes you feel at home, stocked with cards from different games, I hope they start adding new card games as well in the future!

The staff is very nice. There are computers to look up all the cards they have. And chairs so you can sit while looking through the massive amount of cards they have.

Over a half a million cards, start or finish any deck you want to build and keep coming back.  It is a lot of fun and the staff are very helpful (not to mention the awesome system to look for specific cards or types of cards you need).

One of the best! Nicely kept, you can bring your family in here and feel comfy. Always so nice to our toddler too, huge plus!

Place was really nice for somebody who doesn't know anything about magic definitely beginner friendly

About 2 years ago, I left a very poor review, based off of an isolated experience I had when the ownership was different. They seemed to be at odds with each other at the time, and it reflected in their customer service.

I'd like to amend that review and say that they have made leaps and bounds in the quality of the experience in the store. The new staff is incredibly friendly and (what I believe to be) the owner is no longer burdened by the negative energy that was so heavy in the place before when the lanky, long-haired guy was back there.

Finger pointing aside, I've been back several times, and I'm actually happy instead of anxious waiting for them to pull my cards and chatting with them on occasion. When you're waiting, they're always quick to ask if there's anything else you're looking for or if you've been helped. The focus on fixing what was wrong before has been noticed and I would say has been a massive success.

I'm glad I gave the shop another chance and I'll be happy to continue shopping here. Good work. 🤙

This has to be my favorite shop for resources in the AZ valley! This shop seems to have a great community! I shop a good amount here because resources are plentiful. HANDS DOWN THE BEST SHOP FOR SLEEVES,DECK BOXES, and the singles in Magic and Pokemon are great! They have lots of sealed product as well great selection of whatever you may need. All the employees are knowledgeable and if they don’t know someone in the shop at the time knows. Which is great I don’t even need to pull my phone out! Plenty and I mean plenty of table space to play. Small cool thing I noticed. I have never walked in this shop and not seen someone playing a game of some tcg or multiple people. Not saying leagues or anything just normal daily casual play with friends or even play testing.  I have never walked in to shop and not seen at least one game going on at the tables.

Great store.  Has every TCG tournament you are looking for and open minded for future tcg games.  Has a good inventory for magic, yugioh, Pokémon, and more.  Ran by knowledgeable people who have experience

My boyfriend and I have been coming here since we moved to Arizona to play magic and purchase magic related items. PoD is seriously so great, they have an amazing selection of mtg products and singles and the staff are absolutely amazing. Super friendly and knowledgeable, I really recommend it! Not to mention the atmosphere is great for new and experienced players in the play area. Everyone is very friendly and helpful and the store is kept very clean and organized. I couldn’t rave enough about this store :)

Of the many LGSs I’ve been to around the country over the past 10 years, nothing has compared to the likes of PoD. The owners have never been anything but polite, professional, and knowledgeable for the business they run. Andrew, Melissa and Joe have always greeted me with a kind and inclusive welcome every time I stepped into the store. The most impressive perks of this place to me have always been the kind staff, the large play area and availability of product. Only a very select few time have I gone in looking for some specific MTG cards that they didn’t have, yet upon my next visit, they remembered what I had asked for in the past and said, “hey weren’t you looking for these cards last time? We’ve got em now.” And I’m not even a weekly shopper/player!

This place has been around for many years and if your into Magic the Gathering cards it's probably the best location in Maricopa county to find whatever it is your looking for. Trade, sell, or even play in tournaments. Saturday and Sunday they are usually packed with players. Very friendly people, and they carry tons of awesome items from Magic to Pokemon.

Tons of card supplies, and board games! Love the fact you can walk in hand a list and they HUSTLE to get it back to you and the crowd there is awesome and can't say enough about the the two workers super chill super awesome, they keep me coming back for my yugioh needs!

I can't even remember when I first came to the shop at this point, but I'm happy that I found it. I always find the Magic cards I am looking for and they work diligently despite the number of lists they have. Both the staff and the players are welcoming and it made it easier to become a regular. Even when I take breaks from Magic, I can always come back and know what to expect from them. I just want to thank the store owners for creating such a wonderful place.

Great place if your into Trading card games and Tabletop games. The owners are really nice and helpful with whatever you need. It will make it easier for buyers to make a list of wanted cards so when you walk in you can just give it to whoever is working and they will find the cards for you. So far every card I've looked for has been at this place. Highly recommend if your into magic

Recently started shopping here and have had nothing but good experiences.  I collect Pokemon card and casually play MTG and they have an excellent selection of products for both card games.  From sealed products to individual cards, to all the accessories you'd want and need.

The staff is friendly and will normally ask if you need help before you do.  There seems to be a regular customer base that shows up to play at their tables, as well.  They have a good amount of table space and chairs for you to organize any play session.

Being an avid tabletop board gamer as well, I am pleased with their selection of all the top TT board games on the market.  So if you're looking for those, you can find them here, too!

I’ve been consistently frequenting Play or Draw for a couple months now, and I can safely say that this shop is hands down the best LGS in the valley.

The staff here are the most reasonable when it comes to selling/trading in Magic Cards. It’s no wonder that they always have such a great selection. For reference, I’ve made 4 new EDH decks and out of the 300+ cards I’ve needed, they were able to get me all but 2 cards. Not to mention, Joe, Melissa, and Andrew really care about their patrons. They’re wonderful and always make me feel welcomed!

Events here are also always great! The Commander League on the weekends is the most interesting and super fun to play in. Super reasonable entry fees and their added house rules make the game even more fun.

Great experience.  I was visiting AZ from out-of-state and showed up near closing time the day before a holiday.  The 2 gentlemen who helped me could have easily told me, "sorry, can't help you, come back in a week when we re-open".  Instead they patiently researched and pulled a number of obscure, hard-to-find older cards that I have been looking for.  We came to an agreement on condition and pricing for 2 of those cards, and made a deal that I'm very happy with.  Next time I'm in Phoenix I'll definitely visit Play or Draw, and I would recommend them to anyone else looking for great cards at an honest price.

A little background, I haven't played Magic the Gathering in over 10 years, but recently got back into it. I had a few old decks, one that I was in the process of building for a competition back in the day. I didn't really want to play that deck, and wanted to get into the Commander format. I was able to sell my old deck (parts of it). They gave me a very fair price for the cards, and I was able to get a few commander decks, sleeves, etc.

The store staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They were patient with me as I was making my selections, and there was a Commander tournament going on at the same time. The tournament was run very well, and I am looking forward to participating the next time I am able to hop in.

This store has become my card store of choice, and I will be back many many times more. I highly recommend coming here.

Went in there today to buy some cards the guy that helped us, Joe, was really nice. He even complimented my face mask and was concerned about my well being. Will definitely be back!

I've only been there a couple times but the same guy I see is always helpful. I went in to get my first commander deck today and was instantly helped. Its quite a drive for me to go there but ill definitely return soon.

The shop was short one staff member but was still able to get taken care of in a reasonable amount of time. Even though the shop had just opened and there a couple of others ahead of me. Made some Pokemon trade ins for a good rate. The shop was clean, with a good stock of sealed products. Only gripe is that new products were higher than I would expect. By about 5 to 10 dollars more that what is available at Walmart and Target for the very same product.

This place has a great selection of MTG , pokémon and other card games. The only thing they need is an HVAC system to clear the hot air of pungent rear end smell and it would be a decent spot to play against other players with out the arm pit smell in your nose.

This game store is aimed more towards cards. We found some miniatures and board games but alot of stuff isn't priced. It took a second to get help. When we did get help the cashier said the price of minatures would be about $100, then did a long pause, as if he was waiting for us to change our minds, then proceeded to say, ok let me get on the computer to look...Then the person helping us,  told us the price miniature boxes pricing was based off what it was selling on ebay. And gave us the price of what it was currently going for on ebay. Found that pretty odd? An off the wall thing, they sell frisbees for frisbee golf.

I think our price is the same as target and amazon, it's actually cheaper because our price is out the door (tax included) It's unfortunate that you had a negative experience and we would love to have you reconsider shopping here someday. Came in here today just to check it out and they have high prices on most of their Commander Decks. Dude tried to tell me $300 for the 5 set of new commander decks. That is around $50 markup on these decks that you can get elsewhere nearby or online. I won't be returning and can't support these kinds of practices.

Horrible experience. Used to come here all the time and the new guys all sat in chairs. When asked for help getting some packs form the shelf behind the counter they never got up and proceeded to say they will here here in a minute in which they weren’t. Waited over 20 minutes and was completely ignored. They were rude and horrible staff miss the lady and the gentleman who used to be here Save your money and go somewhere else. Not worth your time

Sorry you had a bad experience Dustin. Actually a lot of our newer pokemon packs are msrp or lower. Feel free to stop in this week for a journey together box pre order at msrp if you are interested. 

Used to be my go to shop. They are now just scalpers like the rest.

Charging "market price" for Newly released sets of pokemon.. shameful..

Edit: they are also gate keepers of the hobbie and won't let you order from them for newer sets unless you be apart of their "league"
They "hold all the cards" So play by their rules or get left out...

Don't sell cards here... guys a dB. Doesnt even pay 40% of value. Offered me $30 for a binder with over 2000 full art cards in it. He only paid $7 for a radiant charzard. I won't ever go back there I was so insulted.  have had no other issues with any one else at the place and  have been in and out of this store multiple times just the guy that buys pokemon cards is wack.

Be prepared to pay scalper prices as they are charging more than double retail prices on new Pokemon sets. Very disappointing but easy decision not to support a shop that's taking advantage of demand caused by scalpers by becoming scalpers themselves. Hopefully no one supports their mark up of Prismatic Evolution at $140 for one ETB. Find one of the other card shops that are honest with fair prices instead.
Any response to my review from the shop trying to justify this behavior will be a poor excuse trying to cover up the underlying greed taking over this hobby of "collecting."

You tried to sell us fake cards. We were professional and even showed you what to look out for to avoid getting fake cards. 

I went in curious about particular cards that might have been worth something. Employees were rude and unprofessional. My daughter has now change her mind about collecting.

Second time coming in to this shop, staff ignores you, I gave this shop a second chance, I waited for 10 mins not even a welcome in the store. Staff avoided me and seemed they turned thier backs to hide from having to help. I came lookin to buy many boosters and give a second chance but it seems like this is just the standard at this shop.
