I was looking for traditional items for my ofrenda and was blown away by how many wonderful things are in this shop! You'll find many quality, vintage items - art, decor, masks, pottery, clothing, milagros, Tarahumara baskets and crafts, and so much more. The owner is very knowledgable about the folk art of Latin America and is very helpful. I got my paper marigolds, papel picado, altar pieces, copal and charcoal and I look forward to returning soon.

So fun to walk through. Friendly staff! It's a great place for gifts for friends/family who want a beautiful creative and artistic piece of Mexican culture and southern western style. They have tags on some pieces on where they are sourced. I didn't see anything about fair pay to those individuals but I also didn't ask! I bought postcards for friends and I really loved the cardstock/paper used. Would totally return to get more. If I had more income I'd definitely buy that wooden hot chocolate whisk holder. Loved it!

Owner Response

Most of the items in our shop is vintage, second hand. With the exception of new wares and tchotchkes we source Mexican items from two wholesalers who drive up from Mexico. One family makes their tin products themselves and sell us other items from Oaxaca as well. The new Guatemala wares are sourced from one importer on a few items , then the rest is sourced from artists directly from Guatemala where we buy twice a year. The older items from Guatemala are purchased second hand. Thanks for your support.
