The place is great and has a wide selection of both retro and modern collectibles. I got a 3DS here for a decent price, as well as some funko pops. The two people that I’ve talked to there also seem to know their stuff about what they are selling. Would totally recommend for video game and funko pop lovers, both retro and new.

Alex’s Retro Game store is by far the most interesting and nostalgic game store I’ve ever been in. I just took my little brother because he’s a huge vintage gamer fan and the owner of the store was there to answer his questions, listen to him yap, and gave him advice. He’s so sweet and so informative. The owners story is amazing and heart warming ❤️. 100/10 would go again!

The two guys working there have great customer service! Easy to talk to and navigate. Very fair priced and they have one of the better collections to buy from. Walked out with more than expected.

I was riding my Gotrax down the street and decided to check this place out. Man am I glad I did. This place is amazing!!! I got myself not one but two Funko Pop figures. The prices are great. You won't find a better deal anywhere else. They have so much more, games too. Check them out!!! You won't regret it.

Been in here a couple of times now and its always a good experience.  These guys are very friendly and helpful.  They gave me a bunch of free advice on fixing my retro consoles that got me up and running. They have an awesome selection of games and collectables! I'm not into pops but if you are the selection is crazy! If you are a collector you MUST check them out.

Came in yesterday with my girlfriend who found the store for us to check out retro games and other collectable items. While looking around both my girlfriend and myself had the pleasure of speaking with Alex who was incredibly kind and friendly to show us a variety of inventory. The store has an awesome Jimi Hendrix Experience funko pop figure along with many others. Aside from Alex, Gordon was another person working there who is also friendly to talk to about movies, games and entertainment as a whole. Overall the experience I had was great and look forward to buying more from this awesome locally ran business.

Came to this place looking for a retro game and end up buying other cool collectibles like Funko pops they have a little bit of everything! Friendly family business! Support your local shop, highly recommended

Very pleased with Alex's Retro Gaming Store! Alex is super helpful and talkative. He tests out games in front of you for functionality. He offers tap (Apple Pay), debit, credit, or cash. Has a decent selection of rare games (Luigi's Mansion, Animal Crossing, Mario Party) for a reasonable price. He does disc resurfacing. Makes sure everything works before selling it to you. Extremely pleased with this new store!

Support Local Businesses! This place has most of your retro video game needs. All your nostalgic 90's & 2000 consoles. I've bought and traded with them so many times.

This place is awesome. They have a fantastic selection with very reasonable prices. Looking at the other reviewer who complained about pricing, retro games are becoming more and more difficult to come by. They aren't making any more so if your hobby is to collect classics to play or otherwise you have to understand that this is like collecting classic pokémon cards. Or any collectible. It isn't cheap. Everyone seems to think you're going to find some ultra rare brand new classic at a yard sale. That's not realistic. Of what I came to look at I didn't see anything unreasonably priced. If I had to choose between buying ocarina of Time on eBay versus locally I'll always choose locally. You can actually physically see what you're buying to check its condition. Supporting local business is important and this place by far is not unreasonable and comparable to eBay prices with most better. I'm looking forward to my next visit the owner is extremely nice.

The selection is incredible. It does get pretty warm in the shop though. The biggest complaint I have in the service is not great. The son is very disrespectful to his dad and he gives a lot of attitude. I used the Hobby DB app to scan the price and it said the price of the pop was over $1000. I did not know that was not the exact one. He was making fun of me the rest of the time I was in there and not in a friendly way

Love the store and how huge the selection is. The have cleaned up a ton and made looking and all their items way easier. My only issue is the pricing. I bought a godzilla ultima funko from them expecting 15 dollars or near there since they tend to go for 12 on online sites. It wasn't a special edition or anything and it cost over 22 dollars. I understand making profit but almost doubling the price tag seems a little much. Previously I traded 4 funkos to them as well and received like 30 in store credit for what usually would be 70+ full price. I go there more to look then buy online at other places honestly.

I do very much love going into collection/card/videogame shops and this one had a lot of product honestly it was overwhelming in a good way and honestly the biggest thing I had issue with was jus the cold attitude most shops I've been to have had amazing customer service ( minus most places like GameStop and chain stores) and I would of loved to have come back again but when it comes to attitude I have a ick for it I would still recommend coming here if you need some retro games / pops but for me cold attitudes and poor customer service is a deal breaker for me. Way overpriced, shockingly so. Apparently they have bills to pay... sounds like they buy at near market rate and so have to raise prices above it to make profit. Not my problem. I expect to pay a percentage above internet prices for the convenience of buying a game locally, but not at the margins they have set.

Also they list a ton of "free" games on Facebook marketplace, basically flooding it with adds for their store.

Called this place just to see if they buy consoles and the guy who answered was a dick. With the way he answered and then his response. Would not do business with that kind of attitude.

We said we buy funko pops. We never said we will buy yours. We look at condition and what the item is before we buy.

All customers that are looking to sell item. 
They bring them in and we make an offer. If we can work out a deal we buy if not they look for someone else to sell it too.

They tell u yeah they buy collections but wait tell u get there to say they only pay 20% of value....shouldnhave said that over the phone gas aint cheap now adays....and 1 year later with response, customer service at its best..

I'm sorry we don't purchase 3rd party items, only original nintendo, sega, playstation, xbox. I believe you got it wrong,  we have a large selection of Retro video games, systems and accessories. And yes we have funko pops.

You purchased a system that comes with a hard drive. That plays games fine. I'm sorry you never asked for a larger memory card

Went there a week after I first saw them on the news. They Have a lot of pops but they seem to be way overpriced. Would rather shop at other local shops like a-z, chunkopop or even blueshell, customer service seems to be a common issue, when I was there they seemed very cold in attitude. I would avoid

Seems like they always have an attitude when I go. Tried giving them multiple chances but everytime is the same thing. Save a trip and go to Blue Shell IMO.

It sounds like you are not a collector,  or in to Retro gaming,  I think you have the right to post what ever you want.. but for a small shop that just opened.. I think you are wrong.
I have hundreds of people loving my selection and fell the prices are fair .. if they didn't I would be out of business..
Tell me what was so bad that you had to write a bad review..?
If you fell that other shops in Fresno have better prices and selection.. list them to this page..
And we can go from there..

Blue Shell xbox controllers are $5 cheaper as 1 example. Ebay has way better prices as well. Offerup literally destroys your store for prices. Bye felicia.
