I visited Jenny's Attic yesterday. The owner was very nice. He took some of my items on consignment and takes a fair commission. The store is nice and had a wide assortment of antiques and collectibles. It is clean and easy to walk through without knocking things over like some places. I love the location. It is very easy to pull right up to the store unlike visiting stores in Orange. Let's keep nice stores like this in our city. I encourage you to go visit it!

I found the owner of this store to be condescending and uppity. Moving across country from the midwest from a 3000 sqft house into a temporary small apartment in Irvine, by the Spectrum Center mall, I was trying to consign some items I no longer needed. I asked the owner about consigning a carved cigar store indian 5ft tall and his reply was he wasn't interested, asked where we purchased it, and when I told him Texas, said " well, I would move back to Texas if I were you" and said that I might be able to sell my indian for 100.00 on ebay. (A 1 ft tall indian carved statue goes for 100.00 on ebay. 5ft ones go for over 1,000.00.) I also asked about consigning some jewelry. Our unique heavy silver necklaces (vintage sterling silver-925, open back choker cuff collar necklace, from a top jewelry store in puerto vallarta) was, in the owners estimate, maybe worth 10.00 but he stated they were ugly, and said, in his exact words, "who would want to buy that ayway, I know I wouldnt." Then he said he wasn't interested. This coming from a man who had a costume necklace with a pink flip-flop charm prominently displayed for sale in his "Unique and Antique" store. I bought one like it for my daughter from Kohls when she was 9. He was, however, willing to take our money when we first walked in for a cheap bracelet my now 18 yr old daughter wanted. The disdain came after that. Maybe because he ripped us off on that piece? My advice? Don't go unless you want to be talked down to and snubbed.
