Reviewing only as a customer, not a seller. This location had a great selection of men's wear for very good prices ($10-$20). I was really happy with the shirt I found, and could've/should've left with a lot more.

I wait 1.5 hrs to trade my clothes. Was busy and they were short staff. They were very friendly, definitely this employees deserve something extra for working so hard.

my friend and I wandered into this spot a few days ago while on a trip to Pacific Beach and we were SO impressed! our resale shops back home in the midwest don't have deals this good! we got amazing NEW shirts for no more than 15 bucks each, and the staff were very easy-going and attentive! what a gem of a shop!

Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. I would be careful about selecting items to purchase. Some of the prices were more than you can buy in malls or online. Still worth a look to find that hidden treasure your want to add to your wardrobe. I myself bought Loony Tune tie for $6.00. Tasmanian Devil tie is what I needed to wear to work.

Employees are super nice and helpful, the clothes are nice, and they have loads of cool shoes and purses. I'm a plus size gal so there's not much that fit me, but they have a lot of super cute earrings and other jewelery.

Found some super good finds here! This cute(and slightly nerdy) coach clutch for just $22, brand new (tag still attached) Hudson jeans, tag said $245, got them for $28! And a Jason Wu Grey sweater retailed at $450 and on sale for $16. Great finds!

I’m very satisfied with my visit to this location. The girl buying my clothes was super fashionable and had a good eye for fashion. I was very lucky to have her sort through my clothes. This buyer wasn’t looking for brand name clothes, she was looking at each item by what is instyle. I really appreciate because most of the clothes I was selling was unknown Japanese brand. Buyer looks like an instagram model and was super nice. Also you can find free parking in this location.

I've thrifted all my life. How else can you afford to mindlessly finger through tops to let the day off or use shopping as therapy without banking the break :)? With that said, I came from Goodwill, Baras, Deseret and Salvation as an adolescent - when thrift shopping was a humble endeavor. Buffalo is the fine wine of those days, and while some may argue that Buffalo is "pricey", I can honestly say that my purchases here have spent more time in my closet and been moreso cherished than my purchases from other thrift stores. You pay more for joy and selection per piece, with the option to trade if you so dare. All in all, thrifting alone is magic, but if there's a step up Buffalo made the example. Alchemy? Whatevs, you get it.

Awesome resell clothing store. You can find some brand new things and even Lululemon also in great condition.  You can even get some extra cash if you sell clothes that are in good condition that they select.

Combat Boots...Now, I'm ready for Armageddon...YEAH!...Don't miss this place...Kobey's Swap Meet has them brand new for $15.

Pretty well organized But the prices I think were too high. I don’t think I would go again.

Amid COVID, this Buffalo Exchange keeps pretty strict rules about their capacity, but this doesn’t mean I couldn’t find any gems.

I think this location has some of the best selections and I always end up checking out with an item or two. Everyone who works here is nice/helpful. My only gripe would be that at times - the racks are somewhat disorganized.

Good selection of used clothes and accessories. Most were like, or close to New. Employees were friendly. Easy to find through Google maps. Wide range of sizes too, from really small to plus sizes.

I have been trading here since the mid 90's (they used to be down the street then) and have always found it to carry great pieces at great prices. I love to take in a pile of things I no longer wear and walk out with a few new things.

Offers great thrifty clothes that are higher quality than your average thrift store.  Be greeted when you first walk in by friendly staff who vocally greet you with a smile.  You are also able to sell your own clothes there but due to their higher quality selection be prepared to get more than half of what you bring in rejected.

Buffalo Exchange has a great selection of women's and men's clothing, shoes and accessories.  The best thing about shopping at Buffalo Exchange, is the unique vintage styles and the new and designer styles.  Lots of choices at comfortable prices.

I have sold clothing twice at this store and the lines to sell your clothes can be very long. I have waited between 10-30 minutes to sell. The people behind the counter are fast and efficient. They don't have time for small talk and need to spend that time considering the items carefully. They KNOW their customer base, so while many people are offended that they only bought one item, they have their reasons for it. They don't have time for chit-chat and couldn't possibly explain to each customer why they don't want each piece of clothing. If they did do that, people would be complaining about how long they had to wait in line to sell, and wouldn't return. They  check the tags, the condition of the garment, consider the season, decide whether or not it might sell, and determine what they could sell it for, all very quickly. Just because you take in designer items (along with non-designer items) doesn't mean it is something that would sell at this particular store, at this particular point in time. They have purchased both designer and non-label clothing from me.

I always cash out (rather than taking store credit) because I do believe the items are overpriced. BUT, if they lowered their prices then they would have to give their sellers less money for their items. That's the way business works, so I am personally happy reselling my clothes here.

I am giving it 4 stars because I always wish they WOULD buy more, but I am happy with my experiences there.

If you’re buying, this location has an awesome selection. They definitely have good buyers

But if you’re selling, the wait is ridiculously long. I’ve been here maybe 3-4 times and have always waited like 45min at minimum. Last time it took nearly 90min to get through the line. Reco to management is to just be upfront with customers when there is a long wait, as i likely would leave and came back, or just came back another day. Kinda a waste of time just sitting there.

Went in to sell clothes. The people are nice but the system is confusing at best. I brought in many pieces that were current and in style but they only picked out two basic t shirts. Definitely a cool concept though! Just don't expect to clear out your closet

I thought the store itself was really cool, but was very disappointed that upon bringing two large boxes of gently worn clothing in to sell, they purchased 1 item for $5.00. It was a waste of my time...very disappointing....unless you have extremely unique or vintage stuff you'd do better yard selling your items.

Two stars for the friendly employees, but I wouldn’t recommend selling your clothes here. I only received $18 for several items, including brands like Alo, Brandy Melville, Princess Polly, and Glossier. After waiting 45 minutes, I took the cash just to be done with it. It felt like a total rip-off. I suggest going to Plato’s Closet instead – I’ve had much better experiences there.

USED TO BE affordable. Nowadays you’re better off buying new which really sucks. Honestly just way overpriced.

This spot used to be where you could find a gem 💎 for a really good deal.

Even if price didn’t matter — I’ve gone 3 times recently & haven’t been able to find any cute graphic spaghetti strap tanks or pants in my style. So, empty handed each time. Bummmmmmmer.

everything here is so overpriced. they’re extremely short staffed. they don’t answer their phone. i went to sell things and waited in line for 45 mins for them to then tell me that “only really need women’s t-shirt’s right now.”

The employee looking at the clothes i was trying to sell was really rude and let people cut in front of me.

I came in to sell clothes today, & specifically brought in clothes that were in season so I could have a few dollars in my pocket. A few dollars is what I left with. The buyers here at this location clearly are not trained properly and don’t know what they are doing. For the items that they don’t buy from you they tell you that the store already has enough. They ended up picking one pair of shorts from the 10+ items I brought in for $3. I saw them do the same for the couple that sold right before me. I will not be selling my clothes here anymore because I feel as though the managers here have a sub par eye when it comes to fashion. The customer service was nice and friendly but would not recommend this place if you were trying to do business. I’ve also bought jeans from this place and they had holes and were damaged and I did not receive a discount when I brought it up. I was told that the hole in the back wallet area of my pants was supposed to be like that and that just took away my faith I entrusted in Buffalo Exchange. Only go here if you want some trash. Not satisfied very disappointed with the lack of knowledge from the staff.

The clothing selection was decent but I was more disappointed with the customer service. One girl in particular had a bit of an attitude problem that I noticed her having with not only me but another customer as well and another in the past.

The wait is sooo much longer than any other buffalo exchange. Save yourself some time by driving to another location or another reseller

I tried to sell my Clothes that don't fit. It turns out they wouldn't buy everything I had to sell. They only bought 2 things i had. And I am stuck with crap that i dont need. Not happy with my experience here.  And I drove 18 miles away for this.

Workers didn’t let my toddler use their restroom and he had an accident.  Its a cute store but aloof to kindness.

I would not go to Buffalo Exchange again.to sell my clothes. They are super cheap and stingy Had really nice clothes that they wanted to buy and paid me $5,50 per item I spent more on gas just to drive there Remember to not just blindly accept their first offer if its not what you think your clothes are worth Ask for more money and dont be afraid to walk if you disagree with their offer Try somewhere else or sell on line

I recently visited Buffalo Exchange in Pacific Beach with the hope of selling my outfits. Unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant due to the shockingly disrespectful and rude customer service.

From the moment I entered the store, the staff's attitude was dismissive. I called in to see if they were accepting clothes and what types and they said yes. I had to load many bags in my car.  When I got there I was given misleading information, one of the girls working in as inconsistent with information and was utterly rude. When I was leaving the manager approached me and said they can take some of my clothes when the other girl said no. My clothes was in great condition designer brand yet they did not accept it. The clothes they had on the rack were old, musty and in poor conditions. I suppose that is their look.

The rudeness didn't stop there. That one girl was just giving off the worst attitude as if my clothes were trash.

There needs to be accountability for the way she treats customers. It’s unacceptable and unfortunate that people like this are being hired for customer facing positions.
This lack of care and respect was incredibly disappointing.

Overall, my visit to this store was marred by the unprofessional and discourteous behavior of the staff. Customer service is a fundamental aspect of any shopping experience, and the blatant disregard for it at this store was unacceptable. I won't be returning and would advise others to steer clear if they value being treated with basic respect and decency.

Do not waste your time here!! As a buyer, the store is hit-or-miss. I’ve had some luck with scoring some really sweet finds here (such as my now-favorite pair of Wrangler jeans), but after many attempts to sell at this shop, I’m surprised they made it to the floor. There appears to be few to no standards for the clothes they will actually accept since they’ll turn down your cute, “trendy” clothes that are in decent condition, but will take the cheap fast fashion items and try to sell them for more than they originally cost (new). The amount of items they try to sell that are made with the cheapest/worst quality materials around is so sad, especially when so many of us have tried to trade-in better quality things but were turned away/down in favor of fast fashion…
If that’s not bad enough, I have also seen numerous items missing parts, such as buttons or zippers; or presenting some degree of wear or damage (stains, tears, discoloration) that were somehow accepted and are being sold for more than they are worth. It’s honestly so disappointing :/

Selling clothes: she barely looked at my clothes. Dresses with tags on them. All turned away. ...Many things in the store look gross and old/worn out. I don't get it.

Don’t waste your time selling clothes here, had brought in brand new in-season items like high end Spyder sweatpants with tags passed over even though it’s winter, and brand new adidas shoes passed over… if you like bringing a ton of things in just to take them back go for it!

I have tried to sell a couple of times at this store.
They NEVER take in my clothes.
I once brought in two seven jeans and they said “it wasn’t what they were looking for”
I have seen forever 21 clothes at this store, puh lease 😂 their selling policies is wack! If someone can tell me a good thrift store please let me know!

I used to go to this location all the time to sell my clothes but for the past year I’ve noticed a huge change in the style of clothing they take. It used to be all types of up cycled clothing now it’s ONLY what’s “in” or “in season” which doesn’t work for me. For the girlies who still have a little basic/ modern look or athletic attire such as Lululemon, can’t really go here anymore. On top of that, some sellers are great but I’ve noticed the managers have a bit more attitude and are a lot more strict on clothing sells/exchanges.

I came in with a whole bag of super high end clothes in great condition- one of the sweaters I had brought in was one I had actually gotten at that store. The sales associate who was helping me looked at each piece with a disgusted look on her face. The funny part is, everything I had brought in looked nicer than the actual clothing on the racks. I would not recommend selling or shopping here.

Went in with very nice clothes to hopefully get a few bucks and they didn't buy anything.  The 3 bags of clothes I had were Gucci compared to the overpriced worn out items they are selling. Really disappointed and I wouldn't recommend wasting time here.

Trash. They lowball like no other at this place. I went to sell a bunch of clothes and the buyer selling my stuff wanted to price them one way once the managers came over they dropped every price by a handful. I attempted to sell an extremely nice suede jacket that was over $100 at the time of my purchase and hardly worn which they priced at 30 bucks. I also waited an hour to sell while one of the managers flirted with some random guy and wasted all of our time. At least three employees wandering around twirling their hair while we all wait in lines for selling and buying. Don’t waste your time here, go to the Buffalo Exchange in Hillcrest- they price fairly and actually respectful of their customers. Managers here could do a much better job lol..

I would not recommend bringing anything to this place to sell..
I brought them 7( excellent condition) pairs of designer  jeans that were size 34 to 36, they didn't want any of them . I asked them what would you sell pair of these jeans for if you were to sell them??? ( I just wanted to see if they were going to offer me some ridiculous amount) She said we don't tell people any prices unless we buy something. I was like you have to be kidding me,
They wouldn't even tell me what they would sell a pair of designer jeans for
so very very unaccommodating place I would not go near there again.

I went with a big carton of clothes and they barely offered me $5 for few pieces of clothes in excellent condition. They threw the rest back into the carton saying those won't work. I sold all of those clothes online on Poshmark for much deserving amount. I'd never go back to Buffalo Exchange. I'd even recommend people to check out online apps to sell clothes.

Worst shop to sell clothes. I brought in a basket of folded clothes to see if they liked anything and after they went through it, one girl dropped all of the clothes on the ground, then picks them all up without folding any and shoves them into the basket carelessly. They are all now dirty and wrinkled. They also pay bottom dollar for name brand clothing and pick from what each teller personally likes. I brought in the same pair of pants to another worker and they bought them. Very unprofessional, the majority of customers selling that I saw were homeless, try Plato’s Closet.

If I could give no stars I would. They Had a terrible selection! All the clothes looked the same and were in pretty much the same size. There was little to no plus size options. The only decent items in the store where the bags.

I've always been a fan of Buffalo Exchange, their selection it typically great and the prices are fair, however I would warn anyone about selling items here. The last time I sold clothes in exchange for store credit they took down all of my information and said that they'd have it on file for when I wanted to cash it in. When I returned to use my store credit, they told me that they only store information on their system for one day so unless I used it the day I sold there would be no record of it (none of this was disclosed to me at the time). Needless to say, I won't be returning to this or any location to buy or sell items again.

TLDR, selling clothes to Buffalo Exchange is a scam.

Entered with an entire box of neatly folded barely-used modern clothes — they accepted none of it and had the audacity to throw all of the clothes back in the box without folding them to their original state. Will not be shopping or selling here ever again.

I've heard so many good things about the store thru friends and people I know. I was very surprised when I took in 5 bags of items to sell specifically and sold none. I was told they were looking for Halloween and fall items. I had swim  wear, sweater dresses, fall items, shoes, accessories, belts, lingerie, wallets, etc all brand new with tags and was told that none of the items were in trend or was what they were looking for. Swimwear I understand but the rest? I couldn't believe it. But oh well, I'm taking my items somewhere else. It was just a bummer that in 5 large trash bags not a single item was bought. The staff was nice about it, but I just won't be back here to sell or buy. Hope your experience is better than mine!

Significantly overpriced for used clothes...  They gouge the sellers and then jack up the prices. I won't return.  I'd rather donate my clothes than wait in line only for them to barely look at my items and give two pitiful offers (out of over 20 items) for new clothes with tags.
