Must see. This isn't the bookstore to visit if you're just searching for the latest best seller or newsstand rag. This is a place you go to experience "being in a bookstore," and all the wondrous and whimsical accouterments are in place: slow creaking floor boards, entire pillars made of books stretching from floor to ceiling, cases filled with fossils and minerals (spell components?), cozy chairs and settees on threadbare rugs, and all of the familiar volumes you remember from your grandfather's bookshelves (old friends and familiar faces). You will be transported to another time; although, I think they have a coffee bar, wifi and charging spots if you're into that. Plan on spending a while exploring all the nooks and crannies.

This is a great old fashioned bookstore. A lot of character to it. It used to be bigger but now it's condensed down to the first floor but it still has a nice selection. At the upper floor does Sherlock Holmes type who done it? Mystery plays and is set up like a town from that time. Very neat to walk through and look at things. Always come away with some fun books, records. There's also a nice little coffee bar in there if you want to take some time and relax or do some study.

Great place to find all kinds of books, steampunk items and they have a Sherlock Holmes exhibit, for anyone who wants to take a stroll back in time.

If you haven't been, GO! Check the website and get yourself some tickets to a mystery tea or a play. I can say with slight bias that the actors are stellar (married to one) and the atmosphere is really fun! There is a coffee bar on the first floor. There they also have a vast collection of books, new, old, and rare, as well as other media in the back like VHS and records. The second floor is built to look like Baker Street complete with real mini-shops where you can purchase tea, candles, hats and clothing items, and other things with classic Victorian store fronts. The third story of the building is an antique shop full of curious items and furniture. One of Amador's hidden gems!

This place is amazing ! Every book you could ever want is there , on every topic imaginable. It's a very "old timey" atmosphere, which just adds to its grandeur. And, they have a small section of rocks, fossils and gems. I love it

omg as a bibliophile in a technophile world, i was in heaven. . . amazing, extraordinary selection of old and rare books on every subject in the world. it SMELLS like old books( in a good way -other bibliophiles know what i mean), and that scent triggers intense joy for me. prices completely reasonable as well. the man at counter couldnt or wouldnt smile and i was FUNNY, lemme tell you . but , that didnt detract from the experience at all. if youre looking for the latest best seller, look elsewhere. if youre looking for fantastic book you remember from your youth and some you didnt fven KNOW existed.. get thee to this dying breed of a bookstore posthaste!!! i mean it . . go there . you WON'T be sorry
