In 1990 I had my newly inherited drop front desk with pigeon holes inside, restored here. Gentleman confirmed it was over 100 years old at the time. In part based on the ledger inside, also in good shape. Birdseye maple veneer was repaired in small spot. Everything still in excellent condition 43 years later. I have original invoice. I have another kind of antique desk I'd bring here without hesitation.

Very knowledgeable and excellent service. We had a chess table damaged in an international move. Roger came to collect in in its delicate condition. It came back returned in better shape than when new! He also came to the house to give advice on our dining room table (antique). It has begun to separate in one area due to the dry conditions in Southern California. Knowing that we would return to a much more humid climate, his advice? Do nothing! It will probably come back together on its own when back in humidity. No charge for the house call. Wow! That's what I call integrity.

We had an antique desk with a herringbone pattern parquet top that was so water damaged it had warped parts of the desk. The insurance company wanted to scrap it but the desk had great sentimental value. We sought out recommendations for fine furniture restorations and Thomas Craven was mentioned several times. His workmanship is on a par with fine art - we are so happy with how it turned out.
