Great store, however I have had perfectly good donations rejected. Most recently I had two wicker chairs “passed on” because there were only two of them, and they said they needed a set of 4... I ended up taking them to goodwill and they immediately accepted the chairs without question. They were in mint condition. I understand there is an email address to verify whether certain items will or will not be accepted before you bring them there- but I thought these chairs were above reproach. Update: thank you for the prompt reply and explanation, when you have a chance if the website can be updated to reflect this criteria that would be helpful.
Hi Alexander, I can understand how our rejection of your chairs would puzzle you, but I will explain why and hopefully you will understand. Our staff rejected the two wicker dining room chairs because it is our policy not to accept dining chairs unless there is a set of four or more alike that are in good condition. It is hard to sell only two dining chairs, even if they are in good condition. We have very limited space in our showroom, so we have to ensure the items that we accept will sell quickly to make room for incoming merchandise. We would be overrun with mis-matched dining chairs of 1, 2 or 3 chairs otherwise . We apologize if this was not explained to you and hope you will continue to be a supporter of Housatonic Habitat for Humanity and our steadfast mission of providing affordable home ownership and free home repairs for those in need.

This is not the same store I visited a few years ago. With new management in recent months and the addition of home goods, this is the new happening place to shop...often! The displays are constantly changing due to quick inventory turnover because the items are fairly priced. They are also now very active on social media so you can follow them to get alerts on new items coming in.
Thank you for your kind words!
