Pachaug Picker: A Unique Antique Wonderland in Griswold, Connecticut
Nestled in the small town of Griswold, Connecticut, Pachaug Picker is a one-of-a-kind antique store that has captured the hearts of treasure hunters and collectors alike. As described by one reviewer, this place is "easily one of the coolest" they've ever visited, with a "huge yard of anything you can think of" sprawling across the property.
The store's owner, Walley, has curated an impressive and diverse inventory that spans a wide range of vintage and antique items. Customers rave about the sheer volume of merchandise, with one noting that "you definitely have to enjoy picking through things to like the set up here." Another reviewer marveled at the "enormous amount of old things" on display, from "old bicycles, signs, chains of every make and size" to a veritable "junkyard of old stuff."
While the outdoor nature of much of the inventory means that some items show signs of wear and weathering, many customers see this as adding "character" to the pieces. As one reviewer put it, "a lot of rust due to most of it being outdoors but according to my husband, it gives the items 'character' lol!"
Beyond the vast selection of merchandise, Pachaug Picker is also praised for its owner's friendly and welcoming demeanor. Reviewers describe Walley as a "really chill guy" who is "really good to visit" and "fair" in his dealings. One customer even noted that Walley "does a lot for the veterans; that in itself says much."
Customers consistently recommend Pachaug Picker as a must-visit destination, with one advising that visitors should "plan on spending a lot of time walking around there is so much to see and pick through."
Whether you're a seasoned antique enthusiast or simply someone who enjoys the thrill of the hunt, Pachaug Picker offers a truly unique and engaging shopping experience that sets it apart from the typical antique store. With its vast inventory, charming owner, and one-of-a-kind atmosphere, this Griswold gem is a true hidden treasure for those willing to explore.

Easily one of the coolest places I’ve been to! There’s a huge yard of anything you can think of plan to spend at least 2 hours looking at everything. We took an hour ride out to check out the place and we were not disappointed. You definitely have to enjoy picking through things to like the set up here. The man who owns it was a really chill guy we wanted his recycling bins but that was unfortunately the only thing not for sale lol he was really cool about it though!

Bought a few things from him over the years. Pretty decent guy. Does a lot for the veterans; that in itself says much. Always fair with me.

Not a place for me but my husband absolutely loved it! They have an enormous amount of old things here. The only thing I can say bad about this place is that alot of what is here is exposed to the elements so it's really worn out. Tons of old bicycles, signs, chains of every make and size, etc. a lot of rust due to most of it being outdoors but according to my husband, it gives the items "character" lol! All in what you like! To me, a junkyard of old stuff.... To him, hidden treasures! The place is huge! Trust me, I walked up and down each & every aisle!!
