I love this store! Great affordable finds, with very kind staff. Overall a great store to sell your clothes to and shop around in!

This Plato’s is super great! They choose very selective brand of clothes to fit people’s taste, especially if you like in “mall” clothing. I brought in a buy with some of the clothes I wear and they took most of it! Even some bags! It looks like they take clothes that look like what costumers would wear. They even give more money than the one in orange! It’s great! 😊 The store is very cleans and spacious. And you can actually move the clothes! (better than the orange one) I believe the people with bad reviews just couldn’t understand why they won’t take some clothes, or take “criticism” I guess. If you’re just that upset go talk to a friend.. or yourself in the mirror if you don’t have any and stop taking it out on a review 😊thank you!

Rick and the whole Plato’s Closet family is like family to me. This is absolutely my favorite store! Great grabs that are affordable! I love coming here for everything; bags, clothes, everything and ppl always ask me where did you get this and that! Shop here if you want brand names in excellent condition and new that you can afford!!!!!!

I had a pleasant selling experience at the Hamden location! It’s been awhile since I’ve been in a Plato’s, but this location was clean and well organized. Often times these stores are stuffed to the brim and it’s hard to shop and look through racks but it was very efficient here. As for selling my clothes, I made sure to wash and fold my clothes before and I brought them in an Ikea bag. I went right when they opened and they looked through my bag within 10 minutes. SO FAST. My one tip is to be aware about current teenage fashion trends and know what clothing items they’re most interested in according to the season. Plato’s specifically caters to high school & college age gals and won’t accept clothing that might be more professional and modest. Urban Outfitters, Free People, Lululemon, American Eagle type of brands do well here compared to luxury brands or something from the Loft or Talbots. For example, I brought mostly sweaters (lots of colorful and knit sweaters!) since it’s the winter and they took every single one. Plato’s is never going to give you a ton of money, but it’s nice to have some extra cash just for cleaning out your closet. Best of luck selling!

The store was clean and well kept. Couldn’t believe how much stuff still had tags. I did spend more than I planned but went home with a pair of Air Force 1, 2 pairs of jeans (American Eagle and PAC Sun) and like 3 tops and a sweatshirt for $78. I’ll be back.

I don't get the negative reviews. I sell to Plato's Hamden often and they've always treated me fair. Maybe I get how it works. If you bring in current styles in really condition they are probably going to want it. I also know. that I'm not going to get a ton per item. After all it's a thrift store and people shop there for the prices. I do know they pay a little more than the other I’ve sold to

I love this Store. I buy over %50 percent of my wardrobe here and then when I want I can sell some of my clothes and earn a little extra cash. The employees are also awesome especially Brittany the store staff supervisor. I like the boss as well Rick Myers does a great job keeping his store nice and clean.
