This was such an amazing hidden gem! I went with my parents and I couldn’t stop looking through everything, all of the best brands and at reasonable prices. Rachel (the owner) was very hospitable and knows how to run a good business. They also have great pieces for everyone of all ages and price ranges. Also, the cat was adorable and made the establishment even more comforting. Will definitely be returning.

Highly recommend Rachel‘s for both shopping and consigning. The store is beautifully organized, and appointed with a tremendous selection of high-end apparel. I recently consigned and sold several articles of clothing that had been sitting in the closet gathering dust. When I dropped in unannounced, Rachel took out her checkbook and quickly paid me. My wife and I have been to many consignment shops. Rachel's is the absolute best. Great selection, fair pricing, and Rachel herself make this a special place.

I enjoy consigning my wardrobe.  I wear something once or twice & make an appt. with Rachel because it frees up my closet to enjoy shopping for new things. I am also guilty of purchasing super cute things & never wearing them.... again, clothing consignment is a win-win. The other side of this coin - as a customer who also heavily shops at Rachel's QC - whenever I need a dress for a certain occasion (which I most definitely will only wear ONCE) I head straight to her shop.  The inventory of dresses in every style, label and occasion never disappoints. I stopped at Rachel’s today while I was on my way home from lunch it was my first time in her store, I was greeted with a very warm smile and a hello how are you doing! Rachel and I began to discuss our backgrounds and the story of our lives. She truly is an amazing woman who has a heart of gold!!! Her store is astonishingly organized and offers an array of wonderful items to add to your attire!!!! Rachel is a strong and resilient business owner and it is all reflected within her and all through her store!!!!

We loved Rachel’s! My daughter and I were visiting my Maryland and our wonderful innkeeper recommended Rachel’s. We had so much fun looking through everything and we came out with some great items! A must-visit in Litchfield! Beautiful building: clean, well-styled and extremely organized, and loaded with great finds! I left with a giant Dooney&Burke tote, brand new Birkenstock’s, a Free People kimono, a silk scarf, and a STUNNER of a bag by Mary Frances! Truly an impressive amount of merchandise to shop through. Rachel helped me find a few items and was very friendly and sweet while my friend and I shopped.
An important distinction I’d like to make as I see a couple of reviews that maybe don’t understand the difference between “consignment” and “thrift stores”: this is a consignment shop, not a thrift. Consignments are generally more “picky” with buys because they offer a more carefully curated selection. So, for the shopper, this means no digging through racks of abused or woe-gone items to find that one diamond in rough. Because of that, consignments also don’t not charge thrift prices… these are well cared for, new or next to new, higher end merchandise… not the bargain bin.
We will 100% be back the next time we are in town!

Went to Rachels the first time the other day to do some consigning. Rachel was fantastic to set up an account with. After we were done with that I took some time and checked out the store. Rachel had so many nice QUALITY items to choose from. She had a nice size selection for Men! Which is hard to find. I purchaced a few items, and called a friend about an item she was looking for. I loved the store so much I went back a second time that same day! Rachel has a great personality and is very professional, no concers about COVID as another reviewer indicated. I cant wait to go back! Rachels has everything from purses, jewelry, childrens, mens & womans. Rachel's Consignment will not disappoint. Prices are good given that items are name brand and quality.

To be honest, A lot of times I come to Rachel’s just to visit with her. She is a fantastic person with a smile to match. But ai never leave empty handed! She had the best quality merchandise for amazing prices. She and her store have such a good vibe it’s extremely comfortable to shop and browse in! I’ve been coming here for many years , and will continue to come here for many more !

Rachel is a wonderful person.  A no pressure store.  I was looking for a necklace for my niece. She took the time to show my daughter and I several pieces.  I buy for my daughter (middle school) and my self.  Great, great selection.

I’ve been going to Rachel’s 15 plus years. I have always found the store clean, organized , and Rachel and her staff amazingly friendly and helpful! I used to live in the area, I now live in Woodbridge and commute to go find wonderful items for my family!

Don't go here if you have a cat allergy! I suffered an allergic reaction today bc I didn't know there was a cat in the store. After only a few minutes inside i was itching & developing allergy symptoms. I had to leave after a very short time, & after noticing a cat. I have a severe allergy to cats...to dander, saliva & urine. Maybe You should post on your entrance door that you have a cat inside. Unfortunately, cat's & dogs are highly allergenic & some people have anaphylaxis allergy. It's your responsibility as a business owner to make sure your customers are safe, & unfortunately when shopping in a store those who are allergic don't expect a cat inside. A warning would be great, as they are cute, they can be life threatening to some.

I’m giving her 3 stars because she did not greet/ talk to me when I entered the store . She has quality things . You won’t regret visiting her store . I got a beautiful brand new dress at $14

The store is nice, prices seemed fair for the most part. I noticed a lot of reviews said how nice she was but that's not how she was with my friend and I. And we didn't deserve that. When you work with the public you shouldn't be so rude and unfriendly. Maybe she was having a bad day but don't take it out on your customers.

Kevin I feel very sorry you got the impression I am political or don’t love everyone. I sell what people bring into the store. As a woman from a mixed race background I can appreciate the sensitivity of accepting and loving EVERYONE❣️ I’m not sure how a vibe in any other way came off. American flag outside however is always flying. 

Cute store, but I wouldn’t come here if you’re looking to avoid a personal political conflict. Between the “bare faces welcome” sign, the slew of American flags, and the blue lives matter gear prominently being sold, I can’t say I felt welcome as a person of color. The owner greeted everyone who walked in except for me and I felt surveilled during my visit.

They had a wide selection of clothes that seemed well maintained and somewhat reasonably priced.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but I don’t think they need to as blatant about stating their politics, particularly in the day and age we live in.

We have the Porto potty out back that is very clean. Sorry the plumbing here is original from  1942 and goes down the back then back up the hill. I wish it wasn’t that way. 

Don't travel a distance to get here. They will not allow you to use their restroom. The clothes are not curated and some are dated or not in the best condition. I did not find them friendly. I'm not using a portable potty that you say is outside! You do have a bathroom but you won't allow your customers to use it. The bathroom is reserved for employees and your friends only. You are not thinking of your customers.

I am very sorry if I was talking to other customers and you felt dismissed. There are times I also don’t answer the phone immediately when I am with a customer. My intention is to never make you or anyone feel unimportant. I love seeing everyone and enjoy the personal connection with my customers. A lot  have become repeat visits over the last 23 years and I cherish those relationships. I am sorry.

Hi. I work in retail. With 15 years under my belt, and 10 years in management? I know rude when I see it. When I walked in with my daughters, you were engaged with other customers. When I waited behind this couple you were enamored with to ask you a question, you ignored. Instead, I asked the question of the dude you were talking to. At least—-after 10 min of me politely standing there— he—noticed that I existed. (Retail politesse might not be your forte) you could have always acknowledged my presence and said: just a moment. Usually that begins by speaking to the folks you have been chatting to: saying a quick easy sentence such as “excuse me for a sec”. Answering a question and going back to the convo. Your whole space felt weird, unwelcoming and I’ve told my ppl, and my kiddos have let theirs know. You just seem ultra rude. Enjoy your one star as much as I enjoyed your customer service

I am very sorry for the loss 😢 My business doesn’t thrive if I don’t have up to date trendy items. I end of donating so much that doesn’t sell and with a high rent it doesn’t make sense for me to take items I know won’t move. It’s never personal. I am also very quick when going through the clothes because I know after 30 years of doing this what I am looking for. 

My Mom was recently in and Rachel, you were so rude to her. She lost her husband of 64 yrs and she had some of his “very nice slacks” and you very flip tell her nobody in Litchfield wears them and apparently you also told her nobody wears heels on shoes either. You don’t even deserve a star and will not be supporting your business.
