I'm gonna be biased cause I'm a huge comic nerd , but this place is great. The staff is very helpful and chill , and they have a great selection I'll be back over and over again. Give some love to your local comic stores they're few and far between now and it shouldn't be that way

This review is entirely based on my online experience with Wonderland Comics, which I consider one of the best ever. I contacted the store via email and they were very quick and polite in responses, sending photos of the condition of comics and updating me with stock they have. When I received my order, it arrived in perfect condition due to their excellent packaging. If I'm ever in the area, I will not hesitant to visit. They have fantastic prices, excellent customer service, and you can order with a guarantee everything will be safe.

One of the best stores that I have ever visited. Comprehensive new titles wall, incredible selection of toys and collectibles, and a large back-issue section. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is a fun and satisfying experience.

Customer service is amazing.  They are so knowledgeable about comics.  And they are super friendly.

A good place to find the books your looking for.  I was able to browse in a relaxing atmosphere and was able to find titles I want looking for but needed to have.

And when I couldn't find a back issue, they were super helpful and found it for me.

Excellent shop. Lots and lots of comics, new and old. Nice selection of kids comics, toys and supplies too. And an impressive amount of games too.

Beautifully organized and tidy space. Really nice to see some "girlier" inclusions such as Monster High comics (with alt covers!) among the magic the gathering ✨️

This is a really cool comic shop, even if a lot of the REALLY COOL things they have are really outta my price range. I tend to stop by whenever I’m in town and check out what they have. They have a pretty good selection of collectibles and manga, but what’s really cool is some of the statues they have in the back section of the store. I have seen some truly amazing things there like a life sized bust of Skeletor and a gigantic battle scene between the X-Men and a Sentinel. Honestly if I had the money and the space I totally would’ve gotten that Skeletor bust. Also the folks working there seem chill and fun. I definitely recommend coming in.

There are a lot of comic book stores in Connecticut. This one is one of my clear favorites. Fair prices and I recently found some back issues I was having a lot of trouble getting my hands on. Kind and helpful staff, will absolutely return.

The best comic shop ever . When I met the people there . I switched all my monthly pull list to this shop . They let me know about things coming out I'm might like . They even put books aside for me that they knew id want but didn't order for one reason or another. Love this place

Did a MtG pre-release there this past weekend and loved it. Nice store with good selection, very friendly staff and good prize support for the event. Will definitely be back for the next one.

The store is great, I went there for a magic:the gathering pre-release. Group was small, staff was nice and had great prize support.

Very cool comic shop that has just about everything. These guys know the true values of the majority of what they sell, so don't expect too many bargains as things are pretty pricey. I would go often to check out the mid-90s loose marvel figures.  Wonderland comics  allowed me to finish my toy biz collection.
Wish there were more of these stores out there!

This place is my favorite shop in the CT MA RI area. No matter what you’re looking for you’ll find it and so much more. Veteran & woman owned and operated the folks at wonderland are fantastic. If you have any questions or wants they can certainly point you in the right direction. The weekly sales are amazing and beneficial to everyone regardless of your collecting needs. Their back issue selections are alway getting new items. I strongly recommend a visit.

The atmosphere is always welcoming and relaxing! I love visiting this store and finding classic comics or new releases!

Husband and wife owners are super nice and knowledgeable.  Huge collectable store with a massive wall of new comics always rotating out.  I've been to many comic book stores and they beat all of them in variety and new comics hands down.  I solely buy my comics and magic cards from them and always find great unique gifts for birthdays and Christmas.

Been to this place many times.  Have always had great experiences.  This is one of the best places for collectors anywhere in  southern New England.  The owners and employees work hard to provide grade A customer service.  As a collector I highly recommend them.

Hands down best comic book store I've been in. The employees were SO helpful when I needed to grab something Final Fantasy related for my niece. They were super nice and I appreciate their kindness!

This place is huge by the way. They have a bit of everything!

Large store with a fantastic selection of comics, back issues, games, and more.  Unlike a lot of comic shops they don't have a fee for a pull box.  Been shopping her for years and only have had great experiences.

I remember when this was just little hole in the wall place, but this location was huge!  Very well set up nice and open, well kept and organized.  Super selection of most about everything.  Lots on new comics, Anima, Pops, Pokémo, games, posters and on and on.  Just about everything and anything you would expect at comic/collectible store.  They have a gaming area in the back, looked like a few people were playing Magic or something like that.  If your looking to start reading or trying to find something to fill your collection great place to check out.

Great selection, been going there for years! The new location is the best I've ever seen it. The kids also love walking around and checking everything out. It's nice to see the business still thriving and brining comics to life for a new generation. When I was a kid I saved everything I had just so I could collect the Danny Ketch series for Ghost Rider, I now own them all. This store will always be part of my life. Absolutely amazing what a jewel of a store. I am not much of a comic book geek but the girl I'm seeing is and I'm sure I'm going to be spending a lot of time in here trying to find some rare obscure comics.  They also have lots of figurines and other things.    Dont Forget to check out the coffee shop next door.  Andrew and the barista make the best damn coffee you've ever had custom roasted in shop.  Coffee and comics what more could you want.

Wonderland Comics contains highly friendly staff whom are knowledgeable of the products they sell. Not to mention the store's vast quantity and variety of products: TCG cards, board and table top games, comic books, miniatures, supplies for customizing said miniatures, collectables, art supplies and much more. All in all professional and well kept, with a vast, on-point, variety.

Awesome shop. I drove all the way from Worcester, MA to check it out and wasnt disappointed.

I have been here multiple times and each time I have had a wonderful experience. The staff there is nice and knows what they are talking about and the owner of the store is extremely helpful and nice. They have great amounts of comics and some manga. The DnD supplies there is plentiful. This place is the best comic book store I have ever been too.

Hands-down the best comic shop in Connecticut. Huge selection of new and gold/silver era comics, collectibles and toys, plush, games and gaming areas and more. It sucks that they’re closed right now but they’re you can order for pick-up or ship if you know what you want.

By far one of my favorite places ever. It's not overwhelming crowded with shelves, boxes, tables, ect like a lot of places I've visited which makes it comfortable to be in, everything has a wonderful flow to it. Also the friendliest of staff. I'm not one to chat about my next game session but I spent a good hour discussing terrain which lead to me picking up one of the terrain crates (if that's not good subtle salesmanship either idk anything about retail, and I studied that in college!!)

Wonderful selection of comics and collectables, including new and vintage items. Store has a large, open floor plan, it has a kid/family friendly atmosphere, friendly, accommodating staff, and dedicated owners who will go the extra mile to help you find what you're looking for. Prices are fair, if not a bit on the high side. However, all merchandise is well organized, and kept in pristine condition, so you get what you pay for... and there are plenty of great deals to be found, as well as regularly occurring store sales. All in all, a very well established and maintained comic shop.

Such a great place to look for comics and other collectibles.  The staff is very helpful without being pushy.   I liked their old location but the new store is far better.

Was in ct today checking out some flea markets. Our 2nd stop was Putnam and I forgot about this gem. After I was walking thru the flea market/antique shop I had some spare time to check out wonderland. I loved this shop I'm always looking die a local comic shop in the area and ct has some amazing shops. I'll be back to take my time and explore more another time. Maybe when free comic book day in may comes.

Eclectic and unique, this place is a hidden gem in town. If you like comics, D&D, Magic the Gathering or any other table top game, this place is for you.  If they don't have the game you're looking for, they can get it too. Definitely​ a fun place to hang out with some friends for Friday Night Magic.

Great stuff kids liked it.. went to get some drawing books for anime and character art  that we saw last time with my son but we're out.. always entertaining place and great stuff

Definitely a comic store first but they manage to get a decent variety of most trading card games, role playing games and mini war games. They also have a decent selection of memorabilia and accessories. A few tables in the back and the store doesn't feel cramped. Overall a good stop for any nerdy hobby.

Nice open space and inviting store. Lots of new comics and games. Large selection of Star Wars figures. Good selection of comic book and magazine back issues. Also boasts  an impressive collection of vinyl records. Staff was friendly and helpful. I was able to open bags at the counter to check condition before purchase on expensive books. Only thing to be careful about is some back issues priced at NM when condition was not close to NM. Some back issue bins were not kept full enough, so comics slumped causing spine stress.

Hey Jamie, as I’m sure you know, comic grading and pricing is subjective, based on multiple factors, and the market regularly fluctuates.  Sorry to hear that you think some of our premium books are too expensive, and that you think that is reason enough for a store to get a 3-star review.  Feel free to follow us to keep up on all the big sales we have, multiple times a year, which included 30% off those expensive books this week.

I have been going here since 1997. The new location is huge and the selections are great. I haven't ben in the area in a few years and came back and had to go to the store. Still good selection but looking at the older books on the wall, I think they are a little high in price. But still worth a visit so give it a look when in putnam

Hey Andrea, sorry to hear that the smell from customers interrupted your shopping experience.  Knowing that you visit once every few years, and that the store smelled on the day that you were in, we’re going to make an assumption that you were in the shop during the towns Fire & Ice festival last Saturday (please let us know if we’re wrong about this).

We receive compliments all the time both in person, and online about how well organized and maintained the store is, so we’re sorry to hear that you didn’t have a good experience.  We agree that during Fire & Ice, which sees tens of thousands of people coming through downtown and our store, the store smelt a little funky by the end of the day (mixture of weed and body odor), but don’t understand how the ambient smell of customers is a reflection of the store as a whole at all points in time.

While we appreciate the feedback, we respectfully disagree that the store is going downhill or that it’s disgusting.

The inside of the store reeked so badly of weed that I couldn't even pay attention to the products. I can not emphasize enough how disgusting just stepping inside was. I had browsed their collection and bought something here a few years ago, but it's a shame to see how downhill the place has gone.

Hey Adam, last update here - just wanted to let you know that I reviewed the video footage with Kristen, and explained to her why it’s not appropriate, and even offensive, to bring up the loitering policy just because a customer mentions they’re not there to buy anything.

The policy is primarily for events when large groups loitering impact other customers shopping experience, and not meant to discourage “window shopping”.

Again, thank you for bringing it to our attention, and sorry the interaction was not up to expectations.

Stopped in for a look around while I was having my car serviced at the Chevy dealer across the street. Was told they have a "no loitering" policy after I had been in the store for maybe 10 minutes. Was asked if I had ever purchased anything from the shop previously and was told all about how "great" their customer service was. I left without buying anything and don't plan on returning. There wasn't a single customer in the store at the time aside from me and I was planning on buying something for an upcoming D&D campaign I'm running, but I think I'll just stick to Amazon from now on. Your "great customer service" pushed away a potential customer, I won't be returning.

Just a note, I spent 11 years working retail and never once acted that way toward a customer. Yes I was checking out a bunch of stuff in the store, but they have a lot to look at. Thanks for the great service!

First of all, we'd like to apologize for calling you back.  When we were first disconnected, we thought it was an issue with your service, but it became apparent that you were intentionally hanging up on us because we don't have the Pokemon "crates" you were looking for.

Also, we're sorry you think that a woman correcting you on products available is being snarky or rude.  There are no Pokemon crates, there are Pokemon cases (6 booster boxes, w/36 packs each).  It appears, more than anything, that you have an issue with women who don't speak to you in a tone/manner you find acceptable, given your lack of facts around your claims and use of the word "snarky".  There's unfortunately nothing we can do to combat sexism, that's on you.

Decent selection, but a younger women is very snarky and rude to me. In store and on the phone. I asked if she knew of a particular product and she called me back giving me attitude. She has even made fun of my clothing while I was in the store. I will never shop here again.

Rude service and attitude from owners doesn't result in good reviews and return service. Would rather give a greedy corporation like Amazon my money or drive 45+ minutes to a place with friendlier staff. Taking the 5 star down to a 1 star review to reflect how bad it's gotten here. A shame really as I always loved to support local businesses but not if they are nasty and act like upset children.

Hey Justin, thanks for the feedback.  However, all of our trading cards are based on market price.  Market price on the day your wife came in (release date) was $56.  It has not been that high since then, and the price was changed the following day to match current market price.

Glad to hear that you found it at Target.  However, with the limited allocation of Pokemon products, and current demand, we can only guarantee MSRP on preordered items.

My wife went to get some new release Pokemon products for our kids. They were selling Galar First Partner pack for $56 plus tax...which retails for $9.99.  I can understand supporting a local shop during a pandemic, but even scalpers on ebay are only charging $20 for these packs. Almost 6 times msrp is  taking advantage of consumers. Luckily we were able to find the same packs at target for retail pricing. I could see maybe charging $15 or even $20 to match ebay, but 6 times retail is insane! Would not recommend shopping here unless you want to be taken advantage of!

Moved to CT in June of this year. Excited to revisit wonderland comics - formally a litteral hole in the wall comic shop. To my surprise it had been bought out and transformed into a larger version of itself. That's where the positives end. Gave this store two chances because I wanted to support my new LGS and not big box stores (walmart/target). First strike - i decide to go and buy both singles and sealed. Singles  i grabbed were all from a 15 cards for 10 dollar box, I grabbed 100 dollars worth and grabbed about 50 dollars in sealed. I ask if I could get 10%off of the purchase and the owner rudley conveys to me that because the box is all she had left that she wouldn't be able to do it. I shrugged my shoulders and went on my way all I can do is ask,  right? The second strike was today! I previously gave this store my information for a product pre release and was informed that I would be contacted upon arrival of said product. Store opens at twelve, no contact made from store. I give it till 4 and call, concerned that I may have been forgotten about. Clerk answers the phone and says yeah your box is here. I inquire about why I had given him info to contact if they were not intending on using it. He then explained that they were busy. let's be honest here. In all of my visits from June to now, IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC, this store has not seen more than 5 people at any given time. So excuses are made to cover for lazyness.I am so disappointed in this stores lack of ability to make a customer feel appreciated and want to come back to do more business. They have lost a very faithful whale. Do not recommend if you are looking for customer validation all the want here is your money. Bottome line. Find somewhere else in 2020 for your mtg and comic book needs.

I went to this store to check out their miniatures. I had played war hammer 40k when I was younger and still had my collection saved at home. To my shock I found that they had some of my old miniatures. They said that they had been donated by a man, who "wouldn't accept payment" . We have had work done on our home and found that my collectibles had been stolen, and here they were, well some of them. I was able to prove that they were mine to the woman working at the time by showing her some remaining models. she promptly let me take what was left at the store and told me that she had the majority of my collection at her home with her husband, the other owner. They said they would collect them and return them. After not hearing back from them for some time we returned only to find that their story had changed and they said they did not have the collection.

The bottom line is that this store took in my stolen goods, sold many of them, and lied about it. I would caution anyone in working with them.

Don’t bring your children here... what a horrible experience. It appears there is a pattern of rudeness and disrespect from “the girl who works there” who may be the new owner. My children and I experienced it first hand.

The two guys at the register looked at us when we walked in but didn’t say hi. When we walked up to the cash register, they continued talking rather than ask if they could help us or if we were all set. One guy was new but the second guy with the nose ring just seemed unfriendly.

I asked the two guys about the discounts for back issues and the nose ring guy just pointed to a sign... and didn’t speak a word. Then when we went to check out, a female, mostly likely the same rude girl who has been referenced in previous posts, told us something different than what the sign stated.

She was clearly wrong as the sign didn’t state what she was saying. She couldn’t answer my simple questions, admit the sign isn’t clear, or that certain back issues are not discounted are and were not labeled properly so the customers know ahead of time.

After we left the business, my children said, isn’t that false advertising? Even two small children could understand that the sign wasn't accurate and the rude girl wasn’t making sense.

The best thing would have been to acknowledge the ambiguity of the sign, the lack of labels for certain comics that are not discounted, and just discount the comic book rather than be condescending and rude. You never know what customer you may be turning away or how much money they may spend at your company over the long haul. But some people just don’t care and that’s one reason their businesses fail.

If you run a small business, you should be trying your best to get repeat business from your customers, not drive a family with small children out of the store, who were also going to spend the money they earned at your business.

We will never go there again or recommend this store. What is the price of that? It’s a simple concept some business owners just don’t get!
