So much more than I expected. Great selection and prices.

Nice people, lots of used games even for XBOX, XBOX360, PS2 and PS3. I got a used PS3 game for $8 specifically. Definitely way better than going to GameStop, especially for retro gaming.

Every time I come in here, the employees are helpful, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. I always enjoy stopping in, and they’ve never not had what I was looking for. 5/5 stars

Chris and Kevin did an awesome job handling my transaction today. They handled the items I was trading in with great care. Kevin even took the time to look up a couple other items that I had with me.  Thanks to him,  I’ll definitely be selling that original RE for the PS1 privately.
As soon as another customer came in Chris also attended to the customer.
Both of them have exceptional customer service.

I was also there the day before, I wish I caught the other gentleman’s name, but he was equally as friendly.

Great spot for vintage to newer titles. Tho I don't believe they sell new products in store. Except just newest releases and pre-orders. Atleast that's how it was last time I went to a Game X XhNge9. Tho the one in Branford Robbed my little brother they gave him in 2018-2019 ish only 300bucks store. Credit for maruo/duny full in box with system and Gun came as a combo. Had Zelda and Link 2 Both full in box Zelda was golden o e opened and one unopened. He has a Artari 2600 with a tote filled with games for every Artari  ever released. I told him wait for me to get outta work but he wanted to rush, what these idiot didn't know was I knew the peixe5and what they were doing they enwvr even rang the trade in and paid him in. A 350 vifg5card they purchased and told him those were market values. Luckily I told him to keep me all the Mario games for NES & SNES and I didn't have a SNES Full In Box yet and one was in the storage unit we went 2/3s me 1/3 him lol.
So most was mine I picod8the most e spenaive stuff till leaving him mad doe to make and this idiot went and had gamexchange employee's in Branford, CT give him a gift card 4 not even a quarter of mRket value for the lot at the time. Had a Sega Sega d fully working. Made hard 2 Find Sega CD games probably worth thousands now cuz some were unopened. I kept everything New which was ps4 had just some oitao very little of that was there ut I kept everything Nintendo and Sony. One of each hand held. I got a copy if opened there complete in box. Every Pokémon Game and got Wata ratings in the 90s on all my Sealed items including my Pokémon Yellow u opened got a 96 rating from Wata. That's been a trophy piecw of mine for years. An hopefully will make my kids mad doe in the future 🔥🙏🫰🙈🙉🙊🚀👍🏼🔗💯🤦

Great selection of used games for a fair price, plenty of dvds, board games, funko pops, and other miscellaneous items. Been coming here since 2011 and have always had a great time great staff and a management at this location

I can't believe they have Odyssey 2 games, Atari 2600, Colecovision, Sega Master System games.

The PS1 games bright me back to the 1996-98 years.

There's a variety of compact discs, records, DVDs and Blu Ray discs, a dedicated children's movie section and so much more.

This is Nerd & Geek central and I loved every minute inside here!!!

Always adding more and more products, definitely keeps up with the time and trends of pop culture but keeping nostalgia. Great and reasonable prices, good classic board games, video games, and even has toys/figures, music, devices, and posters now. Great place with good workers who are polite and will assist if needed.

Excellent choice for the retro community. Just waiting for them to bring back the b2g1 free sale! They also have an amazing policy on the stuff they sell. Think about you don't even get a 90 day warranty with most of the cars ppl sell now adays.

I walked in... and I was in video game heaven! I found Atari 2600 games inside this place! That is so awesome. Prices are great as well. I wish we had these over in Middletown NY (Where I live). I will drive 2 hours to go to this location.

This place has a great selection of used games for recent consoles, as well as games and accessories for older generations. I leave feeling like I purchased an item for a good price, and it's always fun to just browse. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable,  and are always there to answer questions.  Great place, in my opinion.

I go to the Wallingford game x change twice weekly.  The staff is always very friendly and personable.  The store is always clean and orderly.  I’ve been to other game x change’s and it is by far the best due to the extraordinary staff.  I have become friendly with Augie, Mike, Chris, Chris T and Katie because they are so helpful and pleasant.  I hear them when customers enter welcoming them to game x change.  Augie usually cleans the DVDs we buy and we never have a problem.  They always display themselves professionally and are an asset to the store. They know a lot about the systems they sell and are very helpful to all the customers.  Again, they appear very educated but more importantly they are courteous and pleasant!!!!  That’s why I travel to go to this game x change!!!!😊 customer!!!!

It's not a bad store but the selection, given what the point of the store is, is so limited.  I love a good Retro-Games-Type store but honestly Game X Change, to me, has never really filled the gap as a collector store.  The staff here didn't seem to know what I was talking about for several pieces of hardware that are relatively common for retro collectors. Was a bit off-putting.

Place is good for used items but keep in mind it is basically a pawn shop. Bought a brand new overpriced remote and tried to return it same day and was denied. I was offered only store credit or a very low trade-in value. Don't make my mistake.

I went there to buy a ps4 game controller. They were not too busy and nobody bothered to assist me as i stood there looking lost with my 5 year old at the counter.  I found the price of a used controller was the same as new one from walmart so i purchased it there. I found that the prices on things they are selling are way more than what you would find online or on the marketplace. However if your looking for something specific like an old console with some sort of guarentee and without a hastle than you can get it here but you will pay a premium.

Good selection of used games and game accessories from all eras. However the needless restriction of "only one purchased item can be refunded for cash back, and only within 24 hours"  really grinds my gears. If someone buys something without the time to try them all that day, you can only get store credit. The time period really needs to be longer.

Decent store, the problem comes from most staff that works here, most of the time it seems the staff really doesn’t want to be working and get annoyed if you bring in items to sell (which is the whole point of the store they buy items from customers for cheap and sell them back at a higher price). It’s annoying when you are bringing in items knowing the store will make a big profit off rare and exclusive items you want to sell them but whoever adds each item into there systems will do so in a very annoyed manor as if your an inconvenience to them. Chris the store manager and one of his employees Malika are alway the worst to work with not very friendly or professional, however on the positive very nice games and items, definitely a great place to shop if you need any older games or game systems, lots of interesting accessories for older consoles that you usually wouldn’t find in other stores, also carries older and somewhat rare StarWars toys. The only other recommendation I have for this establishment is to find a better way of organizing the Funko pops, it’s very hard to see each Funko they have for sale and there is no specific inventory kept by employees so they can’t help you find specific ones your looking for, each Funko is laid on its face with only the top of the box showing it would be much easier to look through if they all faced the custom from the front or the side of the box showcasing the figure better. Even though there is work that needs to be done to make this establishment the best it can be I look forward to shopping here again when I’m in the market for a new game.

Well stocked, lots of different types of items. You could spend hours searching the store. And good thing, because although all tbt employees are nice and helpful the amount of time it takes to check out is always insanely long- be prepared to wait and if you don’t wait go buy a lotto ticket because it is your day!

Very large selection of just about every game made for every system. Games new as well as used sold at very reasonable prices , used game systems sold at reasonable prices. They will buy your used games and or systems for either store credit or issue you a check. Extremely helpful and pleasant staff.

Up and down issues with the wallingford store..The prices dont match what you pay.... Our last 2 visits my so was overcharged and we didnt catch it til were home.. It was only $5 to $10 each time but its still frustrating... I know they know about the issue.. Why cant they keep on top of this issue??

Terrible staff, Awful policies, and terrible products. Bought a broken controller and they wouldn’t give me the money I bought it for back. Happened on multiple occasions. Staff uninformed on products didn’t know anything

Was told they don’t take trades after 8 cause it “takes too long” even though it was only 4 minutes after 8. And I have done trades after 8 before so this is either a new policy that isn’t stated anywhere to be seen or the workers are liars. Thanks for wasting my time game xchange.

2 out of the 3 employees had terrible attitudes and were extremely rude. The girl was the only one who didn't ignore me. I've never had this problem at orange.

Awful game store, bought a used Xbox one s, the controller that came with it wasn’t put back together properly, had damage marks from prying the casing off, left LT didn’t work and had a broken plastic piece jammed inside of it. Screws that hold controller closed were also missing. But not even the worse part, I had returned here for an Xbox 360 guitar hero guitar, I had paid 80$ for  and the worker had said I had 30 days to return it if i ran into any issues, soon enough I get home to try it out not even an hour after purchasing it and it’s broken (a common issue they have with the capacitors going bad in them) anyways I go back to the store the next day with the guitar and the receipt and they will not refund me my money, they can only give me store credit which I do not want because I will never be returning to them again, and when I had mentioned that they obviously didn’t test the guitar before sale as their suppose to, they argued that they did when clearly they didn’t because it is pretty clear the guitar doesn’t work. There should be no issue at all with them refunding me my cash when they are clearly in the wrong and sold a broken item, especially when I had returned immediately for a refund. It wasn’t as if I showed up like a month later. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, I’ve suprisingly have  had far better luck going through Facebook market place and GameStop, cheaper prices and actual working items.

While the store itself is great and always has a rotating selection of titles for really good prices, the staff makes all the difference in this location. I've been coming to this store regularly over the last month or so and have had vastly different experiences in the daytime and at night.

The person working in the store in the mornings (who claims he's the manager but I refuse to believe with his lack of knowledge) is very off-putting and doesn't seem to know very much about the things he's supposed to be selling or buying for the store. He is very good for other businesses in the area though, thanks to his recommendations I know that I should take any of my vinyl records I want to sell to Redscroll Records, or my comics, Pokemon cards and collectibles to Dragon's Lair because they "pay much better"

The night staff is much more knowledgeable and accommodating in this store. Any questions I have about things get answered, and if the staff member I'm talking to doesn't know, they make a phone call or try and do some research online for me. I've had a couple GameBoy games that needed battery replacements and have had them done on the spot, or at least advised on when to come back so it could be done, while the "manager" told me this was a service that's not provided. The employee who replaced my batteries did an excellent job, they are still working perfectly so thank you!

I wish I could leave two separate ratings for this store because when the "manager" isn't there the store deserves 5 stars easily. If you want that 5 star experience come here in the evening. If you want a bad experience, recommendations on other places to shop or sell locally, or to leave with more questions than answers, then come here in the morning.

Really disappointed. When there to sell a sega cd system and few sega games the manager on the store told me he can give me $45 for everything wish it was way to low. A customer in the store say I will give you $500 for everything and I say ok let's go outside. At these point the manager told me "sit if u sell the system to him and not to us you will be ban from the store". I thought he was just trying to make me sell to him no matter what. Next day I when to buy some games and the manager told me I couldn't shop there cause he ban me from the stores for selling my system to someone else and not to him. These is ridiculous and I hope corporate see these cause they doing these to everyone that don't sell to them if the price is not fair.Technically blackmailing the customer to sell to them no matter what.

BUY ELSEWHERE!!! WAISTED my time trying to buy a used PS5 game from some of the dumbest individuals I have had the displeasure of meeting in a long time! Apparently it’s normal practice to give potential customers incorrect prices on PS5 games so that when and if you come to store, the price they gave you over the phone will NOT be honored by staff and they will NOT honor their price word at all !!! Not only was the price of game I called for ten dollars MORE than they quoted, it was $8 more than the new copy you can buy from major retailers!! Better off buying from the major retailers!!!!!! I take solace in the fact that store won’t be around much longer with these type of practices becoming more the norm! STAY AWAY!

Was told when I bought the game it was tested and just had a new battery installed. I was also told there was a 90 day warranty. What I was not told was the warranty meant an in-store credit, although this was printed on my receipt, AFTER I had already paid for the game. The game corrupts the save file anytime I try to play. I brought it back the next day and explained that it was broken and that I wanted a refund, not a store credit, since the game was over 100 dollars. The person I spoke with refused and when I asked if I could talk to the owner about it I was told not to bother because they would say the same thing.

Its completely unacceptable to claim to have a "warranty' on something and then refuse to refund something when its broken. There are much better game stores in CT, don't waste your time on these grifter trying to make a quick buck.

I want to preface this by saying I’ve had several good and honest transactions in the past here at game xchange. This one time spoiled it all.

On 07/05/2022 at about 18:00 I went in to sell a few items. A few switch games, a couple DS games, Super Smash for N64 and my valued GameCube WaveBird  wireless controller. I got offered a paltry  in cash offer of $37.25 and being in a tough financial position at the moment, I took it.

The cashier who did the trade, was a Spanish looking kid with a beard. He didn’t tell me the value of any individual item and when it came time to sign the receipt accepting the trade, I saw I was given $3 for my WaveBird. I immediately told him I wanted my controller back instead of the pathetic $3 he was trying to give me. I was told no, too late, “I thought you told me ok” was what he said verbatim.

I left the store very upset and called another game xchange (Waterbury) where I gave all my information. They were able to look up the transaction, and what do you know? The controller should’ve given me $15 cash.

The manager I spoke to in the Waterbury store was extremely helpful, told me she’d forward it to the store and district manager to get it figured out. At the end of the day I just want my controller back. I feel like I got robbed.

Long story short, go to another game xchange. Not sure what’s happened to the Wallingford store over the past year or so but this never would’ve happened a year ago. ALMOST (not everyone entirely) everybody there is extremely rude and this kid straight up robbed me and wouldn’t give me my controller back. Kid didn’t even give me a receipt and in my frustration, I didn’t even realize it.

Go somewhere else for a trade in.

Highest prices around. Word to wise do home work before purchasing at this store. Walmart, target, Best Buy and online are always cheaper than this place. If game doesn’t work or problem no cash back policy. There like a glorified pawn shop

Been going here for years.  Today unfortunately will be the last time.  Over charged for a game and they would only do store credit.  So you make a mistake and still keep all the money because the store credit.  Then one of the employees is getting huffy and loud because our dissatisfaction. And to top it off we were standing waiting to be taken care of and someone just walks into the store says their name and what they're looking for, and they were taken before use. This store has gone downhill fast and is a shame.
