This is my favorite thrift store in Gainesville! Not only are the prices always good, but they make it very easy to donate! They have normal donation hours, but then they have donation containers placed right inside the door for donating outside of normal donation hours! Kind staff too

Very clean resell / thrift store with a large variety of donated items.
The clerk who checked us out was very friendly. The owner was also at the front desk and allowed us to negotiate on a jacket that was a bit more expensive than I wanted to spend. We spent under $100 and got that really nice Coldwater Creek jacket, a small space heater, and a couple of knickknacks.

Excellent prices. Great selection of books - which was what I was looking for on this trip.

Also saw lots of other great items with excellent prices.

What an amazing thrift store! There is a fantastic selection of books for crazy low prices here, and a large area for crafts and sewing items. It was awesome! There also looked to be a good selection of clothing and household items for good prices, although I only glanced at them briefly.

I found some great art books and stocked up on 22" zippers. I'll definitely be back here the next time I'm in Gainesville!

This is my favorite thrift store in Gainesville. Their selection is great and they always have good brands and high quality items. I have found several high end jackets, one of which was genuine leather for only $25!! The pricing is very reasonable and I love that my money is going to a good cause. The staff is always friendly and helpful too!

This was my second visit and I was just as pleased as the first time. The store is clean, organized and the displays are beautiful.  I will be coming back. Personnel are always friendly as well.

I've never been disappointed with any visit or purchase at Haven Hospice resale store. I was introduced to this place a few months ago with my boyfriend and now this is my favorite go to thrifts. The employee's are the sweetest the selections and pricing is out of this world. My favorite sections are childrens literature, games, kids clothing and womans professional wear. This place is always clean and well maintained. Sales and deals are extra bonus to the amazing prices they already have everything marked at.

Great store with a wonderful selection of household goods, clothes, accessories, furniture, books, decorations, craft stuff, bedding, medical equipment, and more. Some of the volunteers are really nice, but I have also had a couple of volunteers at different visits not be as helpful or nice. I really appreciated that they would deliver furniture to Alachua for only $20, especially since it was so heavy and awkward.

Guaranteed to find something good every time you go! This thrift store is the best in Gainesville. Very friendly staff. Everything is reasonably priced. Also all goods here are something actually worth having a new life in a new home.

Today was 50%off Boutique clothing  they have nice brick a brack.  In addition they have a room for donated art work and on certain days that is 50& off

I think this is the best thrift store in Gainesville. I donate as well as buy here. I stop by about every 2-3 weeks and always find treasures. The prices are fantastic and many times are even discounted further. Art last week was buy one get one. I came home with 2 original oil paintings. Always find ‘blue & white’ Chinese motif and white embossed plates and turreens, which I love. Staff is very friendly and fun to chat with.

I always find clothes that fit and useful items. Today I bought 3 pairs of dress pants @3.99, name brands and a lovely blue and clear vase. .69 cents.

Love love love this place. I always come across gems in this store. They're currently running a sale on 40% off all furniture for Memorial Day. I just bought a glass vanity with a chair for $25.

This is the thrift store we visit most often. It's quite large, and sells everything from clothes, to home decor, to children's toys, to wedding dresses. The people are really nice, and the prices are always low compared to the salvation army, for instance.

Great variety, good deals. I loved the $1 bins! Large selection of artwork and books in addition to clothing, furniture, housewares,, etc. Kids' toy area was nice also.

I fell in love with this place the first time me and my family went there looking for cheap furniture for my daughter's apartment.  We found a number of pieces of furniture for cheaper prices than expected.  It's clean, more than fairly priced, and the people that work there as well as the patrons are friendly.  The second time we visited we heard this bluesy music being sung with piano accompaniment ...we thought it was a recording only to find a lovely, grandmotherly lady playing a piano that was for sale while belting out blusey/gospel music.  It was awesome!  We found some more treasures while listening to live entertainment.  I'm going to  Gainesville tomorrow, and i'm planning on visiting my favorite thrift store again :-)

Place is effectively ran and it's wares are well placed to be inspected by the public. The parking available here is huge. The nic nacs as well as the jewelry is well represented.

I love Haven Attic and all of the employees. I have been going here for 5 years and every time I stop in I’m always bringing something home with me. However, after 5 years I have noticed a huge price jump in the furniture. It’s almost impossible to find something at a reasonable thrift store price. $30 nightstands and $40 picture frames. I feel like I’m shopping at a tj max. It upsets me because my home is filled with items from the store, but as a broke college student I can not afford these prices :/

I'm happy the high priced gun toting security is gone, as it was ridiculous because of the cost obviously, and the fact that everything there is literally given to them. It just looked bad. Cameras are the way to go.

I like this place. Every once in awhile I find something interesting or just something of good quality that is relatively cheap.
Most of my clothes and dishes came from there. Generally better than the other thrift stores in town.

A very nice thrift store. This was my second visit and not much had changed (except the inventory). There were several nice pieces of furniture and one VERY nice wicker suite that included two recliners. Some nice Spode China, and a large assortment of countertop appliances. I wish their collection of books was more diverse and more contemporary. I wandered around for about a half hour and found a couple of items that I needed. Spent less than $5 but could have easily spent more.

One of the larger thrift stores in town, with a good amount of clothes and home goods. They also have a lot of art and usually a good selection of furniture (though their furniture has gotten to be over priced lately in my opinion). Friendly and helpful staff, of mostly volunteers. Check the sale board when you walk in for their daily discounts.

Decent prices on home goods and books! They always have a sale going on. Lots of furniture in the back. Some clothes, but I have not found much for my taste.

If you're looking for a cheap resale shop, this is not the place for you. The items here are high quality and the prices reflect that. That being said, you get amazing deals here! Just don't be upset when everything isn't $2.

For a non profit, donation based thrift store prices are high. The fact that some of the money helps less fortunate(less insured) to die gracefully is somewhat of a caveat, however less than 15% actually gets out of the thrift store. Half of all donations get shipped out to other stores because management does not want to hire people to work. The potential of this store to be generating 1-2 million dollar a year revenue with great management is real, however the people in power have done well in their lives and could not care less about maximum growth. Most would say, "Who cares"

Clean and well organized. While prices have gone up everywhere, this may be one of the highest priced thrift stores in the area.  And I haven't seen any specials in a very long time.

This is a very organized thrift store, I like that about it. The staff is friendly but they are kind of expensive. I usually try to find something because it does go to a great cause. Make sure to check what is on sale, they run a different one every day.

Ask about and check every price. They have had people change prices to lower ones and will deliberately over charge other patrons on the prices they actually set themselves to offset their losses. - All of this is more horrible because they are a charity. - Just double check what they are charging you.

This used to be my favorite thrift store when I lived in Gainesville.  Sadly, we stopped by yesterday, and it was horrible.  They had a stained up UF t-shirt for 7.99. What in the world?! 7.99 is not a thrift store t-shirt price, let alone one in very poor condition.

Overpriced for the most part. I’ve gone in multiple times and left with nothing. I know it’s going to a good cause, but wow- over priced for donated used items.

Rudest people working there.  Left items there after a worker ripped something out of my hands and rudely told me not to touch the umbrella I was checking to see if it opened.  I feel sad for the organization and hope patients are not treated with such an  disdain. I'd never return there because saving a couple of dollars is not worth being treated with contempt.

The prices here are ridiculous, I’m not expecting freebies or the deal of the century but when eBay, big lots, etc is cheaper than a thrift store, you have a problem.

I always enjoyed shopping here for clothes and such, but it seems less and less nowadays. My husband and I have tried to buy furniture here on two separate occasions, and both times it was a hassle. The first time they sold us a dresser that had already been sold, and they had to give us our money back. The second time we bought a loveseat, could not schedule a time immediately for delivery, simply stating they would "call us". Well, a week later I called them to figure out what happened to my loveseat, (that I've already paid for), and they couldn't schedule an appointment until her boss came back the next day. I get a call back from the same woman the next day, and I get no specific time just "after 3". All the while, being INCREDIBLY snotty and rude, acting like I was the problem for their disorganization and poor customer service.
Excuse me for wanting the product that I paid for. 🤷

I'll buy clothes here sometimes because they're cheap, but I'll NEVER try getting furniture here again. And there are only 85,000 thrift shops in Gainesville..Not even worth it. 🙄

I am shocked at the pricing of every item that I looked at.....9.99 for a poster of Billy R Cyrus....no I was not looking for this but saw posters in a bin and was wanting to see why 9.99

The staff is very rude and items are extremely overpriced. You can get brand new items for close to what they ask.

Years ago i went to donate 3 set of clarsonic  and scrubs  and more, and before the men even check what I brought  in, men was with  rude and angry  approach  towards me, I have to explain  and tell hin what inside the box just to convince  him that what Im donating  is worth$$$$$, I never went back to this place , nor  am i ever going to visit this store ever again

I usually have a pretty good experience whenever I stop by to shop for yarn, crafts, furniture at Haven--but today's experience was the worst interaction I've EVER had at any thrift store in my lifetime.

The cashier named Lorrie watched as her supervisor gave us a discount on the yarn yesterday, and so today we went to her to simply ask if we could get the same deal on the same yarn today--to which she immediately said no but took it even further by yelling at us that we are "taking advantage of her kindness" and "this is NOT how we do things at our store and other customers buy the yarn AT THIS PRICE."

She mentioned there's a manager but there is no way that they would approve of the discount, but we said "it doesn't hurt to ask, could we ask her?" Which immediately ignited her extreme frustration which she directed towards us by yelling at how we are going to make her upset and angry for even asking the manager ...so we just dropped the issue and walked away. Even the other cashier next to us looked stunned.

Tldr; watch out for Lorrie because she will attack and embarrass you for asking for a simple discount-- felt like I was treated like a child and being scolded for asking a harmless question. I've never been treated so horribly at a thrift store (usually a very unproblematic experience), and this could've all been avoided if she simply said "sorry, no discount today" but instead she decided to publicly humiliate us and imply we are taking advantage of her kindness. My family and I were loyal customers but I don't think we could go back there after how we were mistreated.

Honestly, my mother and I first thought it was because we were the only Asian customers there and that it might’ve been a racist act… but later found out that our white friends were mistreated by her recently too! So it could literally happen to anyone, so be careful if you get her on register.

ALSO thought I'd mention they price their items according to the highest ebay listing for the item which means the prices are much higher than regular thrift stores.

I unserstand that the proceeds go to a very worthy cause - but when used, donated items they have priced more than if I bought the item new - something needs to change.
I believe they are actually hurting their cause by over pricing donated, used items.

Be careful with this store. I was looking at Vinyl records and they had an Elton John record that I wanted to buy so,I asked the woman how much it was and she went to the office. She finally came back and said "the record goes for $60 on Amazon "she said "just give us $25 for it".The record was only going for $20 on Amazon. Just be careful shopping at this Hospice Thrift Shop. They make up there on prices.!

It’s not a bad store, but they seem to not want people with young children shopping there. They removed the baby seats from their full sized carts, and bought new smaller carts that don’t have a child seat option. I think it’s so preposterous that they would do such a thing.

I’ve been going to this store the last four years of living in Gainesville and it really has a great selection and friendly staff. Earlier this weekend I was browsing the clothing with a friend and maybe five minutes after being in the store I was asked but an older blonde woman who I believe was named Jacquline to take off my bag and put it behind the counter. She claimed that this was policy and that backpacks and large bags are not allowed to be carried around in the store.

I found it odd that I have never been asked this before in the four years I have been shopping at this store, also, that my fairer skinned friend who was carrying a backpack was not asked to put her bag behind the counter, and none of the other customers in the store with similarly sized bags as mine were not asked to put their bag behind the counter.

I approached this woman who made this request of me and told her that I felt singled out. This woman then get very condescending to me and gently touch my arm and an “Oh dear, you’re misunderstanding me.” way and claimed that there are people that shop in this store all the time that know to put their bags behind the counter without even having to be asked.

I don’t know where these other people were, and I can imagine that being indirectly called racist is uncomfortable but I am not used to being singled out and treated like a criminal. Not in the Hospice Attic and not in any other store I frequent.

Many of the other employees at the Hospice Attic and very nice people, but I rather not shop at a place where I am made to feel like I’ve done something wrong by an employee.

It’s been a great couple of years Hospice Attic but sadly it’s time for us to part ways. I will be bringing my donations, and doing my shopping elsewhere.

I don’t want people I know to stop shopping there because of me, because if you stopped going to all the places where racist people were working you would have no where to go! I say this to share my experience (which I am also sharing with the people of the Hospice Attic). This is something that is common, this is something that I have had happen to me at other places in my life. It’s easy to brush it off and say it’s not about race and go on about my life but I know there are other black and brown people that have experienced this, while their white counter part is seen as innocent.
