Visiting the area. Stopped at a few LCS and this was the best. Super freindly and fair prices on everything.  Picked up some walkers and the service was super. Would definitely come back here next time in sarasota.

These guys are great first they responded online within 2 hrs about a question,then they were patient , understanding as I had brought my husband's coins as he had passed away and I didn't want the coins to waste away, they gave me a very fair price Robert was very kind & I'm sorry I forgot the other guys name, but he was equally kind & funny we had a fun conversation I would recommend this business wholeheartedly! It's extremely hard, these days, to find persons/businesses with values and integrity. By far the best coin shop in the 941 area... hands down. I am not a paid spokesperson. Haha. But in all seriousness, if you're looking to buy or sell precious metals, this is the place to go!!

Sean was honest and fair and gave us useful information this shop i would recommend highly to anyone that doesnt know about coins! am from outta town (Atlanta GA.) And found this Gem of a store with great prices on 90%, rounds, and actually picked up a 1/20 gold coin for my collection. Silver near spot and a great deal now.

Got some coins appraised here today and the clerk behind the counter was super knowledgeable and friendly, great customer service. Ended up selling the my coins and buying 5 ounces of silver. Would come back again.

Owner was a pleasure to deal with. Fair prices. I live an hour's drive from there but would gladly make the drive again knowing I'll be treated fairly, honestly.

Update: I did return, and brought my godson with me. It was his first trip to a coin shop. The people there took the time to help him look through all sorts of things, including coins and currency. My godson ended up buying a 1957 proof set in beautiful condition after getting a mini-lesson on coins, proof sets, and all sorts of other things. We got a great deal on coins, and then were treated with a "thanks for helping to preserve history!" from the very friendly shop owner. Once again, super impressed with the people there. If I could give a sixth star, I would. Thanks for helping a young collector find their passion for history and collecting!

My husband and I went to Coastal Coin with a baggie filled with coins given to us by an elderly friend whose husband passed away and had left these coins in a drawer. She wanted the coins appraised and sold. We had a delightful experience at Coastal! The owners were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable and within 30 minutes, we walked out with cash for our friend! The shop is in a great downtown location with ample parking. I highly recommend this business to anyone wishing to buy or sell coins… We were very very pleased and we know she will be too!

After hauling my childhood coin collection thru various states where I have lived, it was finally time to let some other collection enjoy them and add to their collection.  The staff at Coastal could not have been nicer with regards to explaining history, researching value of some of my foreign coins and most importantly offering a very fair price for them.  It's obvious they enjoy what they are doing and sharing that enthusiasm with others.  Rather than try to cover all the aspects of "collecting" or concentrating on gold and bullion, they stay in their "lane" with coins and coin related(banks) items.

Robert is a dream come true! Honest, informative and downright trustworthy. There is  no reason to shop elsewhere.. this place is a gem.

Went to sell a few random coins and coin sets, I could not have been happier with how nice and patient he was with me. I would highly recommend them.

Whether selling something you inherited or a true numismatist, it's definitely worth a visit. I have been casually collecting since the late 90's and have been going to Coastal Coin for years. It has always been a nice experience with both buying and selling to them. The owners are exceptionally knowledgeable and very fair with pricing.
They've also been very patient with my young sons-- answering their questions and helping educate them about the hobby. I honestly appreciate having such a great coin store in town, they're in the business because they truly enjoy numismatics and it shows.

Nice man greeted me. The shop seems to be mostly oriented towards graded, slabbed coins and rare key dates vintage silver. As far as bullion, you are likely only going to get offered spot price even if its a semi-numismatic from a government mint.

Fair prices took his time going over my coins will go back.  Friendly place.

Recently brought in several coins from inheritance collection to be liquidated. Was very comfortable with the proprietor who was courteous, patient, helpful with absolutely no sense of pressure. A price agreement was reached, and having already been to another reputable shop, know it was fair. I highly recommend this business and am glad to add to their list of positive reviews.

I walked into Coastal Coin CO. And was greeted by a gentleman named Robert. He was extremely truthful, almost to a fault! He evaluated my collection and offerred me a very sizable amount of money for what I've collected. After talking with him he was more than willing to cut me a check (great moral/ethical salesman) and after further discussion explained to me how my collection would only appreciate in value in the future. He further convinced me to bring the rest of my collection in only due to his own love for collecting and wanting to see what I possessed that he hadn't previously seen. This is the only fine coin/precious metals shop I will deal with and trust to deal with my collective valuables. I personally give them a 5 star rating and hope you bring them your business because it's totally worth it.

Was searching for a Peace Dollar as a gift. Made it there 10min before closing and the guy was super nice, found what i was looking for and at the right price. Nice shop kinda tucked away but definitly worth checking out.
The peace dollar i ended up getting was no more than some other places in town and a little better grade and pcgs certified on top of it. Totally pleased. They seemed to have tons of accessories for your collection. Holders, cases, etc so i will definitely be back when i want my next coin. Two thumbs up for this place!

I stopped into Coastal Coin Co. and meet Robert (having read 5-star reviews about him and his store) and asked him to help me with completing my portfolio of Washington Quarters and Roosevelt Dimes.  I was warmly greeted and he answered all my questions on coin grading and how he priced & graded his coins.

Before too long, we were looking at several coins / coin collections and agreeing to prices.  I felt very comfortable with his easy demeanor and courteous manner.

I have been collecting coins for 45 years.  I have been to at least 2 dozen coins stores in that time.  Coastal Coin is a throwback to the best days of collecting, when the coin dealer was not a 'CASH FOR YOUR GOLD' place, but an avid, knowledgeable coin dealer and collector himself.  This is as reputable a place as you will ever find.  Anyone who says otherwise is simply wrong or fabricating a story.  They encourage the hobby, have plenty of periodicals like Numismatic News and Coin World, etc.. to read, and a great variety of items from early copper to modern gold and world coins.  They will spend as much time as it takes to evaluate what you have, and it makes no difference if you sell or not.   Make sure you visit them - whether you or buying or selling or just wish to ask questions about the hobby.   The stock is always changing - its always worth a stop !!!

Coastal Coin is the best. I brought down my grandfather's coins last year, and these guys took me down the entire path of what the coins were worth, and why. One of their guys spent about a half hour with me, and it was very appreciated. After double checking, I was pleasantly surprised with the quotes they gave me for what I wanted to sell, and the collection hopefully now sits in someone's home who will actually appreciate it. The folks at Coastal Coin in Sarasota are some of the nicest people I've ever met. I've been going to the shop since it opened, and I have yet to have a bad experience. There are some awesome items in the shop, and if you have some spare time on your hands, I'd recommend a visit. You never know what you're going to find.

The guy bought coins from me that he didn't really help me learn about. There was 1 certain german coin I somewhat regret selling to him now not knowing what it was an feeling like he got one over on me. I asked about the coin but he wouldn't go into detail....i shouldn't have sold it to him.

This man denied my business because another guy had a better offer last time I sold a coin. He underprices things anyways. Don’t go
