Very cool spot , excellent vibes, friendly staff, nice healthy houseplants, vintage records , etc . I highly recommend the low smoke japanese incense , it smells great and it really is very low smoke.

Cool, quirky selection of gifts. You can find something for most people. Also a selection of vintage clothes and a collection of records worth sifting thought. Kicking myself for not grabbing the two Hasil Adkins records they had for sale. (Unopened, but I would've opened them.) Friendly staff and they have cool craft fairs during the holidays.

This is my favorite store in Athens. I will pop by every few weeks to get presents for my loved ones and treats for myself! Over the years I have purchased birthday cards, clothing, crystals, candles, books, tea, soap, jewelry, and dozens of other items. As a long-time fan of the shop, I would highly recommend it for those looking for beautifully crafted gifts. The maker’s market is also amazing! Sometimes I just visit the shop to reset my nervous system; it’s truly magical!

Indie  South is a beautiful store! They have magical and mundane items for reasonable prices. The staff was very helpful in helping me pick out a plant that was best suited for my space and experience. I’ll definitely be back.

I only really shop here for plants. Given the limited availability of interesting selections at big name stores like Lowe’s, this place doesn’t disappoint. A little pricey, but worth it for well maintained plants you can’t easily find at other stores.

Tarot reading with Serra
My reading with Serra was great! She is very very nice and professional as well. For only a short, six card reading she went into a lot of detail. The end of the reading involved a lot of conversation where together we interpreted how the reading applied directly to my life. I also appreciate all the extra little steps she took to give the best reading she could. When I entered the room smelled like sage so I really appreciated her cleansing the room before the reading! Will definitely return! Thank you Serra!
The Store
The store itself is precious. It’s very clean, neat, and organized. Things are on the more expensive side, but also VERY fairly priced. The same things at other metaphysical stores are soooo much more expensive. I live three minutes from a metaphysical store and now that I’ve been to Indie South (where I have to take a bus to get) I might actually end up going to Indie South more because it will save me more money in the long run.

I visited this place for the first time a few weeks ago to look for moldavite. They didn't have any but they had practically everything else. From plants to clothes to books to tarot cards it was a really cool shop and I've gone back 2x since then

This is a nearly discovered shop for me that I’ve passed so many times driving but hadn’t stopped in. Honestly I can’t say better things about it! Not only do they have great merchandise but the staff is so friendly, they do pop up events for local artists and have classes. It doesn’t get much better than that!

Beautifully curated, unique little shop and I was impressed to learn of their awesome art community involvement with multiple markets throughout the year.

Serra Jagger has developed and grown a cult following of all things cool, retro, vintage, artist-made and weird things. I enjoy the weird things, the macabre, the unique and unusual. Her shop never disappoints when I visit and everyone I have ever directed there has returned with wild-eyed praise for her curated collections of local Athens culture. She directs several artists markets in a touring network of creatives that reaches across five or six states and each market has its own local culture that Serra continues to grow each year. Always pleasant and professional. Always willing to engage and extend a welcome. Always honest and fair.

Beautifully curated mixture of art, locally handcrafted goods and vintage with a mystical rock-n-roll flare, in an off-beat light-filled old warehouse building. Definitely worth a visit!

I adore this shop! If you are looking for thoughtful, one of kind local gifts, this is your place! Every time my husband wants to buy me something special he knocks it out of the park when he shops at Indie South. Just this Christmas he went there and bought me the most wonderful gift (picture attached). He had already gone to the shop and purchased another gift but I was raving about this one so much that he went back to the shop and swapped his initial gift for the one he knew I really wanted. The owners were so nice about the whole thing and it really made my day to open this gift on Christmas morning. This shop is so special. I cannot wait to take a workshop when they are available. I love the new location and the feel of the shop is just so inviting. I could hang out there all day!

If you are looking for unique gifts, decor, jewelry, you must come here. The new location is amazing with plenty of parking. The aesthetic is incredible and does not compare to any other local shops in Athens.

Some handmade some not…you can always find unique items or something special for yourself here. Prices vary, but it’s not going to be cheap. Not sure why so much of the inventory is made in China now, not very ‘indie’ anymore.

Great local store! They have specialty items like crystals, gemstones, tarrot cards, unique jewelry. The 4 instead of 5 stars is because they are a bit pricey for the location.

Bad customer service. I was looking at some crystals with my sister that were in a glass door display. It wasn’t locked and didn’t even have a sign. Some guy came over to me and very rudely said “did you ask anybody to touch those?” And making it seem like I’m stealing. Like number 1, there’s no sign saying you can’t touch it. Number 2, it wasn’t locked. So I used my common sense and thought it’d be ok to look at it. But ok. I was gonna come back and make a big purchase but I’ll take my business somewhere else. Learn proper customer service. Especially in something that’s supposed to be a relaxed environment. Super overpriced anyways. Don’t know how to run a business.

Extremely disappointed, went in and bought some face oil this morning and noticed the glass dropper was broken when I got home. They wouldn’t let me exchange it even after they admitted to not checking to see if dropper was broken before they sold it to me.

Nice shop with a nice vibe but everything is ridiculously over priced. I've shopped at similar local shops and the prices are more reasonable. The guy working was very helpful with answering my questions. 28$ for a sage bundle is ridiculous

Beautiful merchandise, but service lacking. I continued to shop here despite being treated fairly rudely on several occasions because I am committed to shopping locally and my daughter likes the shop... but when I tried to exchange something, I was treated like I’d stolen it. One of the owners tried to tell me, “Unfortunately, the price has changed on that item,” which makes no difference because I had the receipt showing what I’d paid. I was able to exchange the piece, but was told they “got screwed” on it. They certainly didn’t contact me to let me know I’d been overcharged for the first one, now did they? I’ll be taking my local shopping dollars elsewhere.
