The best book store in Augusta. Only complaint needs to be more locations in Georgia.

We're a family of readers.  Grandkids, adult kids,  and grandparents.  We all enjoyed browsing through the enormous selection of materials.

Just stopped by to see if I can sell my album collection and found a whole host of fun things.

Went in to initiate a buyback of some old books I had laying around. Quick, clear, friendly service and attention to my needs. I am glad I took the two hour drive to trade with this business instead of any local shops in my hometown. Went to the one in Atlanta area while visiting family a while back and was pleased with the visit. This prompted me to trade with a closer location from Savannah.

This is a book lover’s dream store. From the variety of selections that 2nd & Charles has to the buy back option on books to the amazing clearance deals. It truly is a win-win scenario. I thoroughly enjoy having book dates with my bestie of finding new hidden gems to the adventures of bringing my godfather in to explore the dictionaries & thesaurus.

Best place in Augusta to buy books for the whole family. They all love it and love to go there to get new books

This store is big. It has slightly used books, dvds, video games, board games records and all kinds of other neat items. This is one of my favorite spots.

The organization is a bit... not. But that's kind of to be expected with the sheer volume of items and traffic, so I don't count it against them.

Mom and I both walked out with STACKS of books. My stack was a series that I read a loooong time ago and hadn't been able to find anywhere. $2-3 each. Massive win for me! 🥳

Went there for my birthday and treated myself to a large book haul. They had so many used books in great condition that were on my to read list that I just couldn't say no to 😍

May this place never close! Its our only enjoyable place! A nerds and gamers galore! All types of books and video games (Yes EVEN THE OLD ONES) And you can bring old books, comics or games you no longer desire for store currency!

The person at the register in the evening made me feel really comfortable. I was having a lot of anxiety and I stem a lot when I do. They pointed out that they had autism too and made me feel unashamed and safe.

This place is amazing! They have something for everyone. I call it my Nerdvana because it’s one of my few ‘happy places’ that I go to just to be there. Why? Because they have books, collectibles, movies, music, toys, video games, gaming systems, comics, graphic novels, manga, arework/decor, music instruments, and so much more! Staff is always very friendly and helpful and create a great atmosphere. Most of the books they sell are used and I love that. Nothing beats the smell of an old book! Besides, there’s always a good chance that you’ll find a book you’ve been looking for that’s out of print, or an older edition with cover art that you’ve been looking for, etc. love the idea of used books because it saves trees and also my wallet. The prices here are great! I walked out spending about $100 whereas it would have been at least triple at B&N. I’m a customer for life! 🖤

They have sooooo much! So many genres of books, comic books, games, and merch. You can just about find something for everyone in this store. Great variety of Funko pops. They also carry loungefly bags now!!!

Absolutely one of my favorite stores. I could spend hours (and lots of money) here. Every time I come, I take photos of books I need to add to my collection. And I always find the cutest things up near the register. (The mug in the photo is the cutest one I've ever seen. Such a unique handle. Bought one for my guy too.)

In love with this place. This is a great place to spend an afternoon if you love books or manga. They also have a nice music and movie/tv section too. They have a bunch of new and used items. They also buy items for either a credit to their store or cash. I didn’t have great luck with my items but it’s worth a shot :) I love coming here to find items I’ve never seen before. I think they’re a good competitor to barnes and noble. But I would choose here over them every time.

Coolest place to hang out and Find Everything you want as far as books used games for EVERY system, thousands of used movies of every Genre and even TV box sets. RPG gaming supplies for D&D, Magik the Gathering, etc... Always fun to go hang out and check them out.

Old new and everything in between. This store has it all. We came looking for books and we're excited to see everything from records to guitars to puppets to guitars. The store is clean and we'll kept. The prices are very reasonable. A great place here in Augusta.

I had been passing this place for months. I finally decided to go in after my principal sent out an email saying they were running a teacher appreciation week special. So it is officially now my place to get free books and take a trip down memory lane with its LPs. I drug my husband in one day and we found a good copy of The Chicago Bears "Super Bowl Shuffle" for only $7.50!

This is my children and my favorite store. Very large with something for everyone. It's not just books but movies, video games, gaming accessories, swag of all kinds, gag gift items, unique items like the damnit doll, Legos by the ounce, records, music, vintage items , posters, and so on. You can find amazing deals on used items. And you can find the latest released books. The staff is friendly and helpful. Take your used items and sell them or trade them. (See their site for list of items they buy or trade) You can find yourself wondering for hours and not realize. Or digging in the Lego bin for 45 min. Lol. Also don't forget the free bin outside , you never know what you are going to find. Now go explore!!!

Had a lot of Nice merch and games I haven't seen in years! A lot of amazing shirts and stuff you'd find from games! Very wide selection!

Today was my first visit..very BIG and well organized store! Exceptional employees who care and reflect pride in their work!  This is not just a used bookstore...so many more things! New and used books, cds, movies, lp's, GUITARS, even school supplies.  Even a free book bin up front..come on guys..this place is great!! And they encourage all ages and even have a few big comfy chairs! Come see...ask for Eddie...

Fun little store with a variety of cool things. Some of the prices are crazy but you can find some good deals.

I had went to this 2nd & Charles to get a feel for the video game selection, which was predominantly focused on modern games but had a smattering of retro games I didn't look too deeply into.

They had a pretty wide PS3 and PS4 selection, and I was able to pick out two PS4 games, namely Knack and Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions. They also have a respectable Switch selection, but nothing had caught my eye there.

I also picked up a Luigi kart toy and a Sonic magnet from this place as well, as they've got plenty of game-themed merchandise. I should get more magnets to further bedazzle the filing cabinet I use as a nightstand, haha...

I attempted to find Amiibo and Skylanders here, but the closest thing they apparently had at the time of my first visit was Disney Infinity stuff, much to my disappointment.

Regardless, the staff I've interacted with were pleasant to talk to and were very helpful!

Discount store that sells second hand comics, records, books, trading cards, collectables, video games, guitar asseccories, movies, as well as new other items. The masters golf course has bought up a lot of the surrounding area, so I don't know how long they will be in this location. One can go for a visit, and get lost for hours. It's the kind of store that brings your inner child out.

This bookstore has expansive options for varied readers. They have used and new books, music, games & characters paraphernalia, making them accessible to many people.

The only downside for me is that it doesn’t have a seating or children’s play area. If they had those, it would be top notch!

Great place it was my first time going. I was looking for some used games and my girl some Funko Pop dolls. I wish they had a separate uses game section for easier browsing but the staff was awesome with help finding the Funko Pop dolls for her. Definitely returning.

It's hit and miss when turning in books. Went twice. They back haired lady with several piercings gave me the impression she didn't have the patience to explain the turn in process. The second trip we received a different employee and the turn in was smoother.
Be careful when turning in your receipts to get the credit on your account.  We almost lost $40 in credit due to the team rushing. We double checked and caught the issue.

We normally love the store but when you have hours posted it's general rule to kind of stick to them and not just open the store when you want to. We tried coming to the store on 1-5-25 at around 930 because it says you open at 9...and locked. Even someone else was confused why your doors were locked.

This is a hard one to rate.

I love to pop into this chains locations when I come across one. I’m always looking for books. Sometimes the price is right, sometimes I think they are crazy. This time I found two books.

Adversely, the floors were dirty with trash and other debris on them. Also, I used the bathroom before leaving, and wish I hadn’t. Everything was broken and/or severely worn and visibly dirty. We’re talking grimy dirty. Never been cleaned dirty. Unacceptable

I come here very often, basically every day off I have I end up here. It’s fairly standard, the bathrooms are always clean and I often find good deals. That being said, the staff sometimes are more concerned with their own conversation than with customers. The collection of Manga is expansive and well organized, but the rest of the store is hit or miss in terms of being able to trust the alphabetical system, especially in non-fiction areas. I find myself having a hard time finding what I need, and am left wondering if what im looking for doesn’t exist, or if it’s been shoved somewhere it isn’t supposed to be. I’d be able to forgive this if it were constant through the entire store, but the Manga and YA fiction sections are dutifully organized. Seems that the money makers get special treatment. Anyways, come for the good deals and leave with way too many funko pops. It’s worth a visit at the very least.

If I could give a 2.5 I would. Went in there and immediately thought that it was a great second hand store. Plenty of options for a wide variety of interests. Upon taking a closer look I was blown away by the prices. I went to the video game section expecting cheaper used/ old games. I found one that was roughly 10 years old and was astounded that they were trying to sell it for nearly 70 dollars. I then looked at more and they were also incredibly expensive. I moved on to the movies thinking it may just be the games and they were also WAY over priced. I sincerely hope they take a look at their customer basis and adjust accordingly. Cheers.

It’s a cool store with a lot of cool things. But the books are way overpriced!! And they don’t really offer you anything for ur books! They didn’t even give me an option to take my books back. What they offered me for my 10 books is what the price is for one used book. Plus the employees aren’t really friendly.

Solid bookstore and second hand retailer offering items such as novels, comic books, video games, mangas, movies, action figures, clothing and much more. Has a lot of vintage and retro items, as well as modern and pop culture items. If you’re a fan of a certain series, you’re sure to find something for it here. Some items are marked up a bit from their actual value, however. This is especially noticeable when looking at the retro video games. While it is a decent place to browse and shop, I do not recommend selling items here at all. Their return rate for items sold here is very poor, especially in comparison to stores like GameStop. Even if you opt for store credit, you are getting far lower than what would be a reasonable offer. A rough example: say you bring in like 10 different games that were bought around $20 each, you end up being offered around like $10 cash or $20 store credit. Sounds like a ridiculous example, right? Well that’s how you’ll feel trying to sell items here; dumbfounded.

Buying video games here is... something else. While there have been times I was able to find something for a pretty reasonable price, the rule of thumb is that anything of quality will be priced at a rather high markup. TL;DR, there seems to be a clear lack of care or desire to maintain the prices or selection of games.

Game consoles like Switch Lites and Switch OLEDs are sold new-in-box for 50-100 dollars over retail, despite not being scarce in any way.

Many games on the shelves have been sitting there, sealed, since launch day (which is often the better part of a decade ago) and have not had their prices adjusted in the slightest.

Pricing for games is wildly inconsistent: a game I bought for $5 one day was being sold for $15 and $20 the next time I went.

Games are also sold for prices that many times don't reflect their quality or contents- games with scribbles, marks or damage on them or their cases usually aren't cheaper to account for that. "Day One" or special versions of games are marked up in price, despite being secondhand and therefore not containing any of the extra content, making them identical to regular copies.

One time, a game I purchased ended up being a poor quality counterfeit- though thankfully I was able to get it refunded thanks to their good return policy.

Overall, a fun place to browse, maybe you'll get something for a good price, but otherwise, game collectors beware.

I like 2nd & Charles alot , staff is always helpful and Great  an things are easy to find an selling things to the.. But the bathroom is absolutely disgusting., to the point I almost called in to DHEC piss all over the wall floor , along with sink almost caving it, urinal has piss all over ,The bathroom needs work badly.. I probably won't go back  untill the bathroom is cleaned

Brought 11 books to sell them and they accepted 10. 2 of which were brand new books that cost 15 bucks new. The other 8 books were decent. They offered me 6 dollars in cash or 11 in store credit. I accepted the store credit and bought a 11 dollar book and still had to pay the remaining balance out of pocket. Will not be coming back.
