Paké and Julie are incredible people! While in Honolulu for business and travel, I searched for antique stores—a must for me in every city I visit. Being a landlocked island, Honolulu has a limited antique market, but luckily, I discovered this gem, packed with history and treasures at every turn. As I dug through the store, Paké shared stories from his life and his deep passion for preserving culture and history. I truly hope he can continue his work despite the high rent prices in Honolulu. If you appreciate history and culture, this shop is a must-visit. Don’t miss the chance to experience it!
Aloha Daniel, We very much appreciate the 5 star review which we get only when visitors have a good experience in our "Cultural Recycling Facility". I/we are also appreciative that you are a "digger of stuff" and actually found somethings you like and will enjoy in the future. Yes, stories are the basis for all we do. Everything in the shop has it's own story of what it is , where it came from or what it did in the world. And everything in the shop is a memory stimulant for someone but not everyone is stimulated with everything in the shop so my stories augment the visual and tactual experiences for the visitor. We do hope more people like you visit the shop before our demise is defined by the landlords. We do very much enjoy what we do and the visitors we get but we are constantly threatened with eviction because we can't give the landlords all the money they are demanding. But just thinking about the situation creates a bit of stress, so we will not think about it until the hammer comes crashing down. In the mean time, Aloha, Mahalo for the glowing review, and HAVE A GOOD LIFE, Paké and Julie

Wonderful place with great stuff.
Aloha Kaala, Mucho Mahaloz for your many starred review. We appreciate that you and your relative (?) enjoyed your visit and since we now have an idea of what you hunt for, we will keep our eyes and ears perked up to see if we can ever fulfill some of your collectible needs. Aloha, Mahalo for your visit, and HAVE A GOOD LIFE, Paké and Julie

Antique Alley has a great mix of eclectic and historic items available for purchase.
Aloha Al, Many thanks for your many starred review. We have very few bounds when we are doing our Cultural Recycling endeavor. We end up having an incredible array of items from pre-contact Hawaiian artifacts to even a few McDonald toys. Having such a wide variety of items give all the visitors a chance to see something nostalgically interesting while another sees an item that sat in grandfather's garage or living room. We like to tell people that we prefer not to shop in places that don't have prices on their items. We try and price everything even though there a very few written in stone. We hope you enjoyed your visit and will return in the near future. In the mean time, Aloha, Mahalo for your review, and HAVE A GOOD LIFE, Paké and Julie

Very cool, shop owner had so many awesome stories and was very knowledgeable across a lot of the items.
Aloha Jon, Mucho Mahaloz for your comment about our store and our talking head. We are happy that you apparently enjoyed your visit and the stories we provided. Yes, stuff 'n stories is what we are about in our efforts to Recycle Cultural Artifacts. Everything in the shop is a "memory stimulant" to someone, each individual person having different life experiences, expectations and dreams. We thank you for your visit and that you enjoyed the experience. Aloha, Mahalo for your feed-back, and HAVE A GOOD LIFE, Paké and Julie

Off the beaten path but worth visiting if only to talk to the super awesome guy that owns the place. He is filled with more stories than the shop has things. It was a pleasure browsing and talking to him and learning what true island kindness means. We will visit again.
Aloha Brian, Thank you for beating a path to our doors for a visit. You are undoubtedly correct that besides each item in the store having its own story, so do me and Julie. Yes, I am full of.......stories and acts of show and tell. We want our visitors to enjoy the ambiance of the shop as much as we do and the stories act like a stimulus to hunt and find the memories that everyone has of their own. Since we consider each item a memory stimulant for somebody, we hope the memories are good ones. Aloha, Mahalo for your visit and review, and HAVE A GOOD LIFE, Paké and Julie

We such a special experience at Antique Alley. Paké was very helpful with insight on the items I was considering, and I left with some treasures (vintage magazine covers from Hawaii)! Highly recommended to visit.
Aloha David, Mahalo for your starred review. We have treasured those Paradise of the Pacific magazine covers from the early 1900's for some time now and are so happy you have a similar appreciation for the covers. The covers reflect the romantic visions the artists of the time created in their works. Enjoy them as we have. Aloha, Mahalo for your help in Cultural Recycling, and HAVE A GOOD LIFE, Paké and Julie

Old school interesting stuff. Fun to check out. Packed with stuff big and small. Old posters.
Aloha Sharif, Mahalo for your stars, your feed-back, and photos. It is quite a task to try and describe our inventory without photos and you provided them. We like so much to share our accumulation of history thru ephemera, artifacts and stories. We try and utilize every empty space to show another item, another poster, another bric-a-brac. Aloha, Mahalo for your visit and feed-back, and HAVE A GOOD LIFE, Paké and Julie

So many neat treasures and pieces of forgotten history, including Hawaiian, in this jam-packed antiques shop. The owner is an engaging conversationalist.
Aloha and thank you for your review of Antique Alley. Your assessment of the width and breadth of our inventory can indeed be breath taking. We do advise visitors not to try and see everything in one visit or else they may leave exhausted from over stimulation. My talking sometimes interrupts the shopping experience but I feel the stories about the cultural artifacts give more meaning to any particular item in the shop. Aloha, Mahalo for your visit and review, and HAVE A GOOD LIFE, Paké and Julie PS Mahalo for posting some great photos!

Aloha Ash, Mahalo for visiting us and we thank you for your beautiful words of support for our Cultural Recycling endeavor. The treasures are always in the eyes of the beholder and all we can do is augment its story with our opinions, thoughts and experiences. We are very happy you had a good impression of our "sandbox" filled with memory and imagination stimulants which are in our inventory. Aloha, Mahalo for your visit, and HAVE A GOOD LIFE, Paké and Julie

So many interesting pieces! Not your typical antique store. Much more fun! Proprietors have a wealth of knowledge to share!
Aloha Jay, Yes, we are not your typical antique store because the values of our inventory is not as much in dollars and cents but more in the areas of nostalgia and sentimentalities. Instead of valuable objects of art and history, our inventory is made up of "gazillions" of memory stimulants for the older visitors and imagination objects for the young and inexperienced. We are like a chaotic museum where you can touch everything and even leave with something if you choose to. We encourage all children and youngsters to touch and feel and ask questions. Parents are afraid the kids might break something or get hurt handling our inventories, but our attitude is that we all have to learn some time and some place how not to break things and how we must sometimes have to burn our fingers with a lit match before we learn what getting burned is like. And the opposite is true i.e. we don't have to break something to learn how to be careful and still have fun in a shop like ours. Mahalo for your review and hope you get to revisit the shop and have more fun. Aloha and Mahalo for your visit and review, Paké and Julie
