These folks went WAY above and beyond to serve me! Their store is very clean and beautiful, I would highly recommend checking them out before you purchase new!

Great Store! High End furniture brands at really good prices! You won't find a better price anywhere in the Des Moines area. The staff and sales associates there go to great lengths to assure that your satisfied. Also you can consign your high quality furniture, etc there and it is usually sells quickly!

Finally found chairs that go with my 120 year old dining table. They were in wonderful shape and reasonably priced. They have a large selection of furniture and fun decorations.

A great consignment store with a very easy to understand pricing policy and a nice array of higher end furniture and decorative items to choose from.  Initially posted prices can be a little high, but after a month or two the price can become quite reasonable, so be patient!  Worth stopping by to see what they have.

Made just a small purchase this time. They were very friendly/ made me feel like I have been shopping their for years. So I will be going back.

Great finds!  I bought a bed frame and side tables for a steal!  Good quality here too, and fantastic folks to help too.  They earned a new fan in me today.

Constantly changing inventory of good second hand furniture. Declining pricing tags allows for great bargains. Super friendly staff that helps or let's you browse on your time.

Changing Places undoubtedly made it possible for me to move, at all!  Sorting accumulated stuff from my own 80 years plus that left to me from my mother's 98 years was a seriously daunting proposition.  The fact that an auction was an integral part of the process made it a "piece of cake."
Clearly the Changing Places people were experienced in moving: the timing, finding the best movers, and the confidence and encouragement needed to move forward with what seemed like an impossible task.
A huge part of this process was the auction.  I was surprised at how "easy" it was for me, even as I watched the careful cataloguing, photographing, and valuing of the things to be sold, because that was a detailed process, requiring research to determine the value of some of the items.  The helpers were professional optimistic, enthusiastic, persistent, and encouraging throughout.

Great people and service with inventory changing all the time.  If they do not have something for you today, keep checking in and it will be there another visit.  You can tell them if you are looking for something specific, and they will let you know when they get something in.

A lot of great selection, and like the stepped pricing approach based on how long the piece has been in the store.

This store and the staff are great! So much to look at, great pricing and the staff is friendly and very helpful.

Can always find something here. We never walk our empty handed. Plenty of art work and really nice furniture. The employees are just very nice people and always let you do your thing but are there when needed. Always a pleasure to browse. We have both sold on consignment and purchased furniture and accessories for about 5 years now. New Owner is very friendly although priced our recent consigned items a bit lower than we had hoped for! I would say this is a much better shop to PURCHASE from than to CONSIGN with. The challenge for the new Owner will be attracting and maintaining a great selection of Furniture and Accessories with Her low selling prices! Overall I would recommend this Shop especially if you are looking to PURCHASE unique, higher quality Furniture and Accessories for cheap prices!

Changing places thrift shop is a great place to look for a unique piece of furniture or accessories for your home they have newer and older pieces so you can match your current Decore prices are very fair. They also take items on consignment to make a few dollars of your own and they are in a great location give them a try sometime you’ll like it. Lots to look through.

Had not been in since new owners started. Was very impressed with them, and their staff. The new room addition to showroom floor was really nice. The variety of truly great choices as well as pricing was surprising. Truly great selections to fit every style, taste, and budget. Definitely worth your time.

Knowledgeable and welcoming staff. High quality selection of furniture. We went during their anniversary sale and got an excellent dining set at a very reasonable price. In addition to helping me load the pieces, the staff went the extra mile in covering the chairs so they wouldn't get scuffed in transit.

Something different all the time.  Product seemed to be in good condition.  A great alternative to box stores when you are looking for unique furnishings.

Very clean and well organized store.  Prices are slightly more than traditional thrift stores, but you don't have to sort through racks and racks - it's organized. Lovely displays

Great stop if you are looking for second had furniture, art, etc.  A lot of variety and inventory is constantly changing.  I didn't give it 5 stars as I felt the majority was overprice though.

Small, quant, if you're looking for used maybe traditional furniture then have at it, great bang for your buck, but if anything besides that trips your trigger, maybe try somewhere else

Was greeted which was awesome. I think their prices are a little high even if you wait 90 days you can still buy them cheaper everywhere.

Felt over priced! Name sounds like a second hand store, but I could buy brand new for the same price or less. It is set up pretty. It's laid out nice. But expect to pay "new" prices.

Think it’s a great concept, but not impressed with their business prowess. My decorator and I found the perfect piece for my office, went back to look, piece not marked SOLD, went up to the point of purchasing, “oh, by the way, it’s sold”. And, then we were met with a flippant “you wait, you lose” response. Really deflated when we left and they didn’t miss a beat…customer’s concerns really don’t matter to them. My opinion.

Bought two pieces from this place... Decently happy with the first, VERY unhappy about the second. The first was a beautiful king size bed which was overpriced (could find it elsewhere for cheaper when it was used! When I asked her about it she said "Well the consignor gets only 40%" which hey, when you're consigning something you're not going to get the full value of it!) but once I got it home I loved it so no regrets there. The second piece was a rug that was quite large and listed on their tag as "wool" which I specifically bought for that reason since my dog sheds so much. I get it home and unroll it and the original tag on it says it is made out of nylon. When I called the store they really didn't care and said they'd check with the consignor about a price change and just never called me back.

Basically just have two pieces of advice for this place. 1. Check their prices, they think that just because something was originally worth a certain amount that they can sell it for that much and 2. Beware of FALSE ADVERTISING because that is exactly what they wool rug issue was. If you don't know what it is, don't put it on your tag!

Same as it was. Was sent a review reply a week ago that things had changed as they are under new ownership. Ironically I have a piece of furniture I would like to get rid of. I arrived with the chair in my car. Apparently this is not how they do things. I was treated to the same snot nose condescending attitude I received years ago. Good luck with that.

The items we display are owned by local consignors and are carefully curated for quality and condition, typically priced at about 1/3 of their retail value. In contrast, thrift stores rely on donations, which often results in lower prices and quality.

Gave them 3 tries to see about consigning wool rugs with them. They act as though they don't need customers. Would not deal with them for anything; I would rather give all of my items to Salvation Army than deal with these non-business people snobs.
