When it comes to nice vintage cast iron products, this is the place. I walked in knowing essentially nothing other than I have a modern Lodge skillet that I enjoy cooking with. I visited with the owner while purchasing a vintage National 9 and learned some interesting history. I took this vintage cast iron skillet (80-100 yrs old) and it is AWESOME. I went online and spent several hours watching more history on vintage cast irons. A huge eye opener. I made a call to my mother and she brought me an old Griswold that I am taking to him next week to remove the rust, etc. He has the electrolysis equipment to remove rust and down to the original pan for an extremely low price. Have a feeling I will be buying alot more unique cast iron products here. If in Winterset, IA....make this a must stop place to visit.
Thank you very much for your purchase and the kind words. Look forward to doing more business with you in the future. P.S. no sanding or power tools used on the cast iron here. Lye bath and electrolysis as you mentioned are the safest way to clean up old cast iron. Merry Christmas and thanks again.

Showed up on a weeknight early afternoon- was greeted quickly by the owner who asked if I knew what I was looking for which I didn’t. He was patient and walked through a ton of pieces, how to use and care for them, and also some history behind them and the iron. I had a great time here and would go back just for the conversation. Delightful shop and friendly owner with a passion for history. Highly recommend.
Thank you so much, hope you enjoy your new to you Favorite chicken fryer and look forward to seeing you again.

Brought a couple of pieces to trade and left with a great Griswold Skillet. I could not be happier. Doug was very knowledgeable and a great guy to work with. He explained how he cleans up the iron to my wife and daughter. We all enjoyed the visit!
Thanks so much for stopping back in. Hope you enjoy that restored Griswold skillet. Look forward to seeing you next time.
