This place has some really reasonably priced items, There is an array of clothes, shoes, home decor, furniture etc.  One of those places you pass by and not know what you treasure your could possibly find.

I’ve been going here for years, I never leave empty handed. The owner has great taste, and the staff is always so friendly! This is a great place to find unique gifts or house hold items, and the clothes are cool too!!

I absolutely love this place. Each time I visit, I find something that I love. Their staff is friendly and helpful, and there truly are nice pieces of furniture there. Last year I bought this chest made of camphor wood that was beautiful, and I got it at a great price. I usually visit the store once a month because they are always getting new items in.

They have really nice merchandise for good prices! A very eclectic selection of fashion and home goods. The staff is so helpful, they even assist you in loading your items into your vehicle! Sidebar, the music playing in the store is awesome!

It is impossible to not find an amazing find in this shop. Everything from coats, to furniture, to light fixtures, to dishes. They have it all and everyone will find something that sparks their interest.

First time customer today. The staff was not only friendly but allowed personal space to browse without pressure.  Found a few great pieces at very fair market prices.  Highly recommended

Fun place to get away for a few and find really cool treasures. Cant recommend this place enough. I come here as often as I can cause the inventory is always unique and different with the prices better than normal, Pricing is almost peanuts compared to other shops i've visited, Take my word you will love this place.

Love this place! I placed several items on consignment, which all sold and  ended up spending what I made in  the store. So many great , quality things from chandeliers to a little black dress.

Support your local businesses! The owner is welcoming and knowledgeable. There are a variety of vendors with some wonderful items. Even just walking through it's almost like visiting a very cozy museum.

I love going here. All of the items are amazing and in great condition. The prices are a bit on the expensive side, but you will always find something worth it. The lady who runs it (sorry I don't know her name) is so nice. All around 10/10 experience.

Best consignment store I have ever been to.   Many wonderful things to see and purchase.

This is a very hip shop!  It feels like an old suburban downtown next to the train station, but is actually in the city. The prices are surprisingly low as compared to other parts of Chicago. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful,and cute. I like going in and checking things out.

This is hands down my favorite shop. I consign here and I also shop here. This place is incredible for unique housewares, lighting, and even clothing and accessories. I have been consigning here for a few years and yes, you may have to do your own due diligence with inventory nowadays with them, but that’s a good thing. They used to do a generic inventory but stuff is coming in and going out so fast that they now just send you a check or you can keep it for credit towards future shopping.

It’s one of the higher paying percentages nowadays and they have great taste so your stuff isn’t amongst a ton of junk. Her prices are reasonable and that’s why there is such a high turnover of goods which makes it constantly fresh. It’s nice to see that they didn’t start getting crazy with their prices as they get more and more business. I try to pop in every couple weeks and it’s ALWAYS different. Tip: They sometimes get really rare pieces and you can be the first to see them if you follow their Instagram stories. Love this spot!

I pick up different pieces of furniture for customers at this place and they really have nice items and also clothing. I love this place and I am sure you would to.

I love this place! Every time I come, there's always something new and exciting to see hete. usually there are one of a kind items there. Which I love. I do not like to see myself going and coming. Prices are reasonable and they have new items coming in every week. A must go-to place.

Angela is ethical and runs a beautiful store. I have been lucky to shop at both her stores over the years. She is a wonderful person and I have bought great stuff from her.

Good store... sold my stuff and sold me a belt fur better prices than regular retail (ok on one side and great on the other side of the commerce table...)

Clean and interesting shop with some really cool finds. Some stuff is a little dated and boring, but always worth a visit. Great music too

I see many people have given 4 stars or more.  I have not had that great experience as of yet. I brought in several clothing items, which were in good condition and only one outfit was accepted.  I call, regularly to see if it has been sold and I'm told, no. I really have no proof of it being sold or not, unless I decide to go and look through the items being sold. I hope my experience with this business becomes at least a 3 star.

This place is ridiculous they advertise that they will give you top dollar for your used clothes and add up the value of your clothes and give you 25%, of that, and the clothes they want are vintage, but the don't advertise that, I brought 5 bags of good clothes and all they took were five pieces, valued each piece between 11 and 12 dollars, thought I was walking away with some money and 25%of the value, I ended up with$15 dollars 🤔🤨. Never again. The store looks like a place for used vintage clothes, dirty on the inside.

I will first start out by saying that the items in this store are actually quite nice and in many instances unique.  However shopping and whether or not a customer comes back is about the "experience" not just the item.  My very first time at Root (about 6 months ago) was a very pleasant experience and the owner was Professional, helpful, and seemed as if she appreciated that we decided to check her store out. In fact at the time my sister and I were the only ones in the store (we are both African American) Very excited about my finds I just knew that I wanted to come back.  Unfortunately the next time I came back there were others in the store (Caucasians at the time) but this time I noticed something seemed a little different about the owner.  There was not that friendliness there that I initially saw although it was there for the other customers who were Caucasian.  I initially blew it off as I was imagining things, or perhaps being a bit over sensitive.  However on subsequent visits at least 5 more times I experienced  the same type of vibe (that she could take or leave her African American customers).  Today I was in the store and once again I noticed it. Actually I had two people who were also African American with me and without even mentioning what I had been thinking they too expressed a similar feeling.  I shop at Root Consignment strictly out of choice not because of need.  But after today I have decided that I will no longer support this establishment.   Perhaps there are African American customers that will say that was not their experience but I can pretty much guarantee that there are probably a nice number of African Americans who have experienced this but for a various reasons just never wrote a review.  It is really sad because the store itself is nice.  But I would rather spend my money at an establishment where the owner appreciates me as a customer regardless of who is or isn't in their store at the time.

Spectacularly unhappy with my experience as a consignor here.  You took my stuff, and did not notify my if it had sold.  Did not send me a check.  It just disappeared.
