You can't go on a trip without visiting antique and thrift stores! Peace of the Past North is smack dab in the middle of Main St in Galena. If you park and walk up and down Main St you won't miss it! Upon first glance it looks like a smaller store but there's a whole back section that you can't see from the front. Lots of neat finds with some pretty reasonable prices. There are a lot of book sections throughout the back half of the store. We found a couple of books that, once we got back home, found out were at least 50% CHEAPER at the antique store than if we had bought them online. That's a pretty good deal!

One of the more authentic antique stores I went to in the area. This place had genuine antiques rather than mass produced junk, made to look like antiques. It's definitely worth a walk through

This was the BEST antique store I have ever been to. It is family ran and everyone is so nice. The prices are fair and the collection of treasures surrounding every inch of the building is breath taking. I walked around it, maybe, 5 times and found something new each time. I felt like I was walking into so many different timelines, I just loved the atmosphere so much. You get a free book mark with each purchase and I believe they have two stores! Definitely go check this place out even if it’s just to look, it’s worth it

Second location with even more cool stuff. Lots of books hidden in back, which they apparently have 30,000 of, more than the local library! Small rooms with themes and groups of items. Very unique and well curated, a top notch antique store.
