Absolutely love having this store so close! When I moved into my new home and started reburbishing it, I found some gorgeous brand new furniture at an absolute steal at Restore.

Quality customer service doesn’t even cut it — this place makes you feel like a regular even if you’re from OOT. The first time I stopped in, I asked about a power tool that currently was not on the floor — the owner had overheard my conversation with another staff member and silently went in the back checking personal inventory and came out with one for GREAT value. Incredible. He had also mentioned calling the store so they can keep an eye out for items and will call you if they come in! I come regularly to check  the flow of furniture and reno materials AND my chunky bulldog tags along too! 🤍

Our dryer broke and we bought one off of Facebook marketplace. It ended up being broken too. We went a couple weeks without a dryer, taking our stuff to the laundry mat. However having 8 people in the house that can't always happen... I'm so glad I remembered about this place. We've never shopped here before and it was amazing!! We got a dryer for a fraction of the price a brand new one would cost... And they test some of their appliances before selling them!!! So we got a cheap working dryer!! The ladies working were so nice and helpful. When my husband went to pick it up they loaded up the dryer and we brought it on home! So easy!! Definitely will keep this store in mind for future needs!

This is an extraordinary restore. Its huge, and filled with any treasure you could hope to find, at an amazing price.

It can be hit or miss but definitely great prices for when you find what you want. Check out this place for house items before going to Home Depot or somewhere like that.

I always find something that I need with each visit.  They now have Earthpaint,  a very high quality paint that is ultra sustainable and empowers people with disabilities.   There are more than 20 common colors available at unbeatable prices.  Two gallon pails are only $29.99.  That is less than half the price of direct compared paint for coverage and durability.

They only accept item that are in good or better condition. Inventory is laid out nicely.

This Restore is SO nice!!! It's clean, organized, good prices, good people!!! I will DEFINITELY be going back for future remodeling projects. Another reviewer had said that "the selection could be better", but I have to disagree. You have to understand that this is not your big name, full price, high end home remodeling store.

Great home type resale shop.  Most are decent useable items, not junk and prices are reasonable.  Staff is always helpful and friendly when I donate or buy.

Has a large variety of items.  People that volunteer are helpful in getting things in and out.  Quality on some newer items is very good, and some things are average.   Abundant materials available for small projects; likely remainder from larger jobs.  Interesting things too from antiques to unique. Always find useful things at good pricing.

Nice selection of items. They even have freshly popped popcorn you can munch on while you shop.

Truly a gem for the Home Improvement Enthusiast on a budget. Both new and used items can be found here, as well as hidden treasures galore and things you didn't even know you needed. Each time you go, it's an adventure. To top it all off, the staff here is extraordinarily friendly, welcoming and helpful. If you  don't mind a bit of hunt and have some time, skip the big box and head here. It's worth it.

Reasonably priced for a resale store. Especially in times like today.

I have been going between 2 locations for 2 years now and some items are realistic prices like new furniture with a defect from a delivery damage. Some prices are list price And out of box items It’s great for small room rehabs like a bathroom tile, new tubs/inserts, the faucets not so much. . And lightning. Sometimes you can get a 10k full kitchen cabinet set for 1k and hardware for the doors @ 10% of cost. Solid doors are always great prices but Check the sizes. I purchased 5 panel bifolds @ 20% but they were 1” shorter. So I added a filler and trim on the top guide. Worth the few hours to save 1k. But don’t start the job til you get what you need  Because right after your Finished, you will see something nicer. The flip side you will go there some times and see Nothing. Those are the days that you leave before you buy things you don’t need.

If u dig, really look and use imagination you will find very unique as well as common items.

Very helpful the staff let's you browse  and think a bit  about your ideas  pricing  is fair   and you can always put it out there If they change their mind call you

Well organized and clean. I thought quite a few things overall were less expensive than new, but a lot were more than I would expect for being donated items! If you look,you can find some deals. There's electrical, hardware,tools, household,etc.

I really liked this store.  I had been wanting to check it out and finally made the time today.  Furniture, appliances, hardware, tools; this has it all at very decent prices. It also helps to know that we are financially supporting Habitat for Humanity by shopping here.

It was our first time in the Habitat store and we were pleasantly surprised. They have a large selection of furnishings and decor as well as cabinets, tile, light fixtures, appliances, pet supplies and more. There were many employees working and all were friendly and asked if we needed any help without being pushy.  The store is clean, bright and well arranged. I like that they employ some folks with disabilities too.

Hey this place has pretty good prices and they check all kf their appliances to makw sure they work ao kudos to them.

I'm giving this restore 3 stars, I'm judging this by 4 factors which are size, selection, customer service, and pricing. The size is about right for the area but the selection could be a little better. the customer service is average. What hurt them the most is there weird pricing system. They have stuff there that is only a few dollars less than if I were to buy it new from the store, which also comes with a warranty, and I can return it. Here you can't return stuff

I've donated to and purchased from several ReStores over the years. I've found it difficult to buy from them though. Prices are too high. It makes me not want to donate here anymore. I don't know if they want to keep things on the shelves but you don't do it by overpricing donated  items. Also the  workers at this store and the one in Woodstock are casual to the point of acting like they don't care. No hello, goodbye, thank you for supporting, nothing. Instead of popcorn maybe they need to supply caffeine for their help?

I've had enough of driving an hour out here just to find out the store is closed even though Google says it's open.

If I  could rate it lower I would. They used to be a thankful organization, now they only want new equipment. Nothing was acceptable to them. All my contractors tools and loads of supplies.
They will never get anything from me again.

Stupid Donation policies. Unclear on donation processes throughout the store.

I asked them about making a donation. I explained what I had and was told to bring it in. After loading up my car and bringing to them, they said they didn't want any of it.
No donations for you!

I've always supported Habitat for Humanity in Michigan and Illinois, but with purchasing and donations, stopped by one day to donate at this location and came across the most rude volunteer working there I left and haven't been back since.

It is great for shopping like all of the restore locations, but this one, the McHenry location is the hardest to donate to - I’ve never stopped by there when they haven’t given me a list of things they “don’t” take. These items were things they sell the store. Today they wouldn’t take a box of high end marble tile and a brass light fixture that goes over a pool table. I always feel like I’ve done something wrong when I try to donate there -

My child forgot his wallet on top of the speakers, then we left the place when my child was looking for his wallet he didn’t find it so he called the store and tell the manager what happened. The manager supposed to went to find his wallet but said the wallet was gone somebody steal it. It was one camera exactly on this spot, we ask her if she could review the cameras but she said this spot was hard to see. I assumed she lies, they steal my child’s money $ he lost his savings from one year $500 dollars, so angry with this dishonest people.
