First of all, when you enter the store the magical scent of all the wonderful candles they carry draws you in.
Each area expertly set up by their wonderfully talented staff showcases the furniture and decor in ways that give me so many design ideas for my own home.
I am amazed how every time I visit, it’s like a whole new store. So many pieces coming in and going out makes stopping in a part of my weekly routine.

Obsessed is an understatement! This place HAS IT ALL with new shipments coming in all the time! Our first ever visit was to the Wheaton location where we picked up two modern and unique lamps and the best part was THE LOW PRICES! We just so happened to purchase the lamps at the tail end of consignment and paid a combined $90 under the original asking price! I could spend hours at this location and was told the Lake Zurich store is EVEN BIGGER! It makes a huge impact that the staff are INCREDIBLY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL! Also, don’t sleep on their candle collections, they’re stellar and the whole place smells like home sweet home!

I love Acostas! I called about some consignment items I saw online and spoke with Chase. He was extremely nice and great to work with. He kept in constant communication and made sure my items were wrapped well enough to survive mailing. Everything arrived in perfect shape and super quick too! Thank you!

Very happy with this consignment store. Many of my items have sold quickly. I've had nightmare experiences with other places where I never received my money. At Acosta's they send your check for your sales with a professional breakdown of what has sold. You DON'T have to call them. I would definitely consign with them again. : )

Lots of high quality home furniture and Decor everything is in excellent gently used condition and fairly priced. You can find vintage country to modern and mid century.. Staff is friendly and well knowledged it's something you don't get anymore in consignment shops,im shopping here again!

We have bought a lot of items from Acosta's, enough to furnish most of our 2000 sq ft apartment. These are high-end items that are of good quality, at very affordable prices. My spouse and I are very happy with what we have found, and have saved a lot of money in the process.

I cannot say how much I love this place. It's a weird cross over between upscale furniture store with the 'buy me now or never see me again' diversity of home goods. Someone said they its like visiting a never ending estate sale. I like the thrill of fishing for decent pieces everytime me and my family go there. My advice don't be afraid to wait to get good deals and ask for Sally at the wheaton store. She is really great.

I was very impressed with the variety of "treasures" Acosta's had! The one main attribute, among much more like prices being understandable and acceptable, was the good old-fashion ma and pa "vibes" that the ladies showed! They really did care about me and not how much money I had or did not have!

Have bought many items from Acosta. Always satisfied with everything. Had an emergency family illness and requested pictures of item bought but not yet picked up. Within hours they sent pictures to my cell to be shown to ill family member. That kind of consideration is rare. Not knowing us, the owners treated us like we were valuable customers. Shop online or at one of the three stores. Try Acosta once and you'll go back.

Hold on to an item you like if you plan to browse around some more or have an associate hold and mark it for you.  We lost 2 items to another customer by a matter of minutes only.  They have lots of gorgeous items. Have fun and good luck.

Very clean stores and huge variety of nice used furnishings. Prices are a little high for used items. I enjoyed shopping but was disappointed they don't offer shipping. Overall , food experience.

Great knickknacks and decorative pieces. I love how it’s one of a kind, only downside is the cost is pretty high as it is not a thrift, but a consignment store.

Lots of very neat used and new furniture.  Most of it is very high end, and large. Prices are higher than expected, but again, there's no cheap stuff here.

A neighbor recommended Acosta's to me - very disappointing experience.  A collection of china I consigned sold.  I waited a fair amount of time before following up on my check. They said it had been issued Oct. 19 but by Nov. 4 I hadn't received it.  Their response was, "Well, it most have gotten lost in the mail."  They issued another check to me but subtracted approx. $30 for the stop payment charge.  Not exactly what'd I'd call a customer-oriented business practice.  I wouldn't recommend them.  Maybe you'll have better luck.
The Wheaton  store is very nice with a wide array of items to choose from.

Hi Krissy, thank you for reaching out. Our pricing on previously owned furniture hasn't changed over the years, it has actually gone down on certain styles. It has always varied based on the brand, quality and condition of the items, so if you happen to visit when we just got in very good pieces or designer brand pieces, the prices are going to be higher on those. The next week, we could receive mid-range quality pieces which means the pricing will be less. So please keep stopping back, because it changes every week! Thank you!

I have bought multiple items over the years. I was saddened to see the pricing has gone up substantially since my last visit.

I am so sorry to hear that you experienced that! We truly do not care what kind of clothes our customers wear or how expensive they look, we only care that are actually wearing clothing. You are right, space is tight! With the houses selling as fast as they are due to Covid, we are absolutely packed with furniture due to the increase in moves, but we are hoping that our new 30k sf store in Lake Zurich/Barrington is going to help the situation. First time at this store, no customer service, nothing, I wasn't dressed up fancy, so it gave me the impression they catered to certain superficially expensive  looking customers.  Too bad , I had money to spend, looking to furnish our new home. Also the tight space w all items almost piled up together was difficult to navigate through.

Since they declined and we wanted you to be happy, we wrote you a check covering the fraudulent one. Please understand that this means not only are we out the money from the initial check, but we now wrote an additional check to you. I initially enjoyed this store. Sold a few items and it went well. Sold a few other items and was told that I was sent the check and that I “cashed” it. I attempted to talk with the Wheaton store twice and they stated that it was my signature when I did not receive nor signed a check. I never received the check. I am dissatisfied and disappointed.

You then initialed and signed the contract which states the following: 	Acosta’s has a 90 day consignment term. Due to the number of consignors Acosta’s partner with, we do not contact consignors that have unsold items. Consignors may track items via consignor access or by contacting the store directly. Acosta’s Home Consignment will NOT contact consignors at the end of term. Consignors have two (2) days from the final date of term to contact Acosta’s if any unsold items wish to be reclaimed. Items to be picked up by consignor will remain available for sale while in our showroom until removed. Unsold items that are not picked up within 2 days of the final date of term become property of the store and may be sold, donated or disposed of by any means we determine appropriate at our convenience and without liability.  

We additionally sent you consignor access to keep track of your items, you then logged in and changed the password on your account. We marketed your 2 items on our ecommerce site and on social media. The patio sets were staged in the front of our stores. Unfortunately, sometimes items just don't sell even though we tried our best to sell them. We do not want to keep items on our showroom floor for 90 days and not sell them, because we do not get paid. You then contacted us a month after your term ended, we cannot provide unlimited free storage. 90%+ our items sell during the consignment term, but we cannot guarantee that something will sell. We give you the option to pick up your item at the end of the term, you signed and initialed that and then logged into the account to keep track of it. Do not bring your items here for them to sell. I was told that patio furniture was in high demand and brought in mine quickly. I haven't heard from them in months. When I went in and asked about it they told me they gave it away. No phone call no heads up that it didn't sell. And they said it was in the contract which I did not receive a copy of In my email confirmation they hold a copy of the contract. For I know they could have sold it and kept all the money. I should have stuck to Facebook market place.

I wouldn’t even give them 1 start! They accepted my patio furniture and said it would sell fast but when I went out a few weeks later they said they gave it away for free without my knowledge! Very disappointment be careful when you give your furniture here they would give it away for free. For all I know they could have sold it and taken all the money, if they had told they couldn’t sell it I would have taken it back and sold it myself

Hello Barb, thank you so much for making me aware of this situation. First I will say, that Nora Fleming actually has several melamine pieces that they have come out with in the past few years and we do sell those daily in addition to the ceramic pieces. You are correct that you can buy the pieces on Amazon, they are more expensive, but they are available for purchase. 

Regarding the customer service, I want to sincerely apologize for the issue you had and I have spoken to the employee at length regarding the conversation. She is reaching out to you (or already has) today to offer you a personal apology and also a resolve to the issue. This has allowed us a training opportunity and for that I am grateful. We do have a 24 hour return policy that is on the receipt as well as posted on signage, HOWEVER, I would always offer an even exchange on a store owned item (even though it doesn't say that on the written policy) and I have reviewed that with this employee and all staff today. I hope that you will come back and give us another chance to make things right. Again, thank you for making me aware of the issue and allowing us the opportunity to correct it. 

I bought a Nora Fleming dish for my sister for Christmas (they carry this line as new not consignment) My sister loves this brand and has a large collection. When I purchased the dish it was new in the box and I did not open it. To my surprise, when my sister opened it, it was plastic and not ceramic. I went back to EXCHANGE it for a ceramic dish because the plastic dish isn’t even the same color as the ceramic dish.
. My sister prefers the ceramic. When I went to the Acosta store in Wheaton I asked if I could exchange it. The Manager quickly said no returns and had an attitude right from the beginning . I explained to her that every single dish and item on display in the store was ceramic and I felt like it was misleading.  I have never seen a plastic Nora Fleming dish before. I have have bought thousands of dollars worth of items from their location in Elgin and Wheaton. I have lived in Wheaton for 30 plus years and ALWAYS try and support small businesses. I could of easily bought the same exact dish from Amazon and could of returned/exchanged it without an attitude or problem. As I was walking out the manager said “try reading the return policy”. Again, I was not trying to return it but just exchange it.  I will continue and support small businesses but I can honestly tell you I will not shop at any of Acosta stores because of the way I was treated.

I have always enjoyed browsing thru this store and have purchased 1 furniture item. My first thought was to bring my beautiful dishes to them when I was down sizing.I absolutely loved my dishes originally purchased from Bloomingdales and was hoping that I would get the best price from Acosta. I read all the instructions and filled out all the forms. I understood I drop them off and then it is in their hands. They  claim that they are experts in pricing. I then never heard anything back although they said they were behind in getting items out. I visited frequently looking to see what they were priced at. Finally, I asked and was told that they sold immediately even before they took photos. My check was just mailed out to me. A 35 piece set including 8 hand painted matching wine glasses, a large platter, service for 8 and I got $97. Far lower than I ever thought. They priced it so low that of course it sold immediately or perhaps it went to someone who worked there! I was very disappointed--it cost $40 for the boxes and bubble wrap to pack all the pieces! It was in perfect condition and I didn't want anything to chip getting it to them. Somebody got a great deal on my beloved set! So happy that I held back pieces. Beware!!

I recently moved to Chicago, and was in this place looking for decent furniture,  I spend almost an hour in the store and had so many questions to ask, but not only I didn't get any help or answers to my questions, I left empty handed with no furniture due to lack of customer service and furniture collection

My wife stopped in this store today to buy a table we saw online. She was there for 45 minutes and no one spoke with her or asked her if she needed help. She even went up to the front desk at one point, but was completely ignored. There goes the sale, we'll find a table elsewhere.

I have had a very bad experience with Acosta’s. I brought them a table to sell for me, which they did but here is the problem. They gave my money to another person. When I asked what has happen one at the store could give me a answer, that was 6 month ago and to this day May, 22 no one at this company has given me an answer or my money. I have made several trips to the store and have spoke to several people who work there they all said we will look into the problem and get right back to you but no one has ever called.

So please quit doing business with this company.
