Stopped in while on a Lexington nerd shop tour with my buddies this weekend. Large, spacious shop with a variety of goods: toys/statues, comics, paints, minis, and board games.TCG and accessories. Welcoming atmosphere and reasonable prices. Will visit again if I’m in the area!

It's a classic comics collectibles and games shop super helpful  and friendly  staff bright and colorful  shop I've never walked out disappointed.

I highly recommend this store! The manager I spoke with was fantastic, and the selection of comics, collectibles, and board games is impressively diverse. I came in searching for a Pokémon-branded 3-ring trading card binder—an item that seems to exist only online. After checking three other stores without luck, I was feeling discouraged and ready to give up. But to my delight, I found TWO different Pokémon binders here, both priced at half the cost of online retailers! Needless to say, I grabbed both and had a smooth, enjoyable checkout experience. I’ll definitely be returning!

It's my favorite comic shop to visit in Lexington, there's something about the employees and even the customers in there that just make it so much nicer than others I've been to! I always end up finding a figure, comic or Pokemon cards that I can't resist as well!

Phenomenal store, large selection of action figures and playsets. Also they have some of those hard to find Funko Pops. I was really surprised by howany new comics thr store has, plus alot of hard to find indie comic's. I met the owner personally at the other A+ location and he's very nice and helpful. I can definitely say he actually wants to impress and earn your business, I will definitely continue purchasing from this business. Go and check it out yourself, I guarantee you'll find something new to take home.

Best shop in town for comics and merchandise! The owner is super friendly, and the staff there will help you find what you need, open a comic file in just a few minutes, and order anything they may not have in stock. Also can't recommend the board game club enough; if you buy board games, the board game club is a must-join. Finally, who can beat constant discounts on TTRPG materials?! London will hook you up with anything you need; legitimately the best customer-service in Lexington.

I have been at A+ since the doors opened many a year ago. I love the selection and the staff is great. However, I do wish they would have store hours similar to what they had before the pandemic that would work better for people that work late.

This store is great. The staff took the time on a busy Friday night to help find our 3 year old daughter something she loved and looked through all of their stock for the right size Wonder Woman t-shirt.
They even asked if I wanted our purchases rang up separately since our son was using his allowance for his items. Great local gem!

Okay, this is becoming one of my favorite stores in Lexington! It's so much more than a comic book store, as they sell a variety of trading cards and a plethora of board games, all backed by a level of friendly customer service that you don't really get many places any more.

Next time you're trying to figure out what to do with your family or friends on a Friday night, come here and simply ask for a board game they'd recommend, I'm confident they won't lead you astray.

I'm new to this world, so to come to a store where you're welcomed with open arms and offered genuine help with the intent of supporting better purchase decisions (NOT just bigger purchases). In fact, one several occasions, the staff has recommended I visit their competitor to buy some stuff (when was the last time you heard Amazon tell you to visit Walmart? it doesn't happen, and that's sad).

The shop has always been in my heart, and was the first major hobby store I entered. Today, the crew working were so helpful and friendly, and their stock is varried, inexpensive, and great over all.

Well, after visiting most every game store in Lexington yesterday, I have come to the conclusion that this place will be the first place I go to from now on.  Russ was extremely helpful not only to me, but to all customers who came in the store, hustling to show us products, tells us about promotions or services the store offers, such as board game night and the board game club.  He graciously stated gamers were free to come in and play Dungeons and Dragons (which I have been looking for a venue to host a weekly or bi-weekly game in Lexington, and this 0laces does 20% off D&D materials!!), even during what i would consider busy times like magic tournaments.  I will definitely be coming back here much more often in the future, and can highly recommend this place as a gamer-first store with a casual atmosphere and helpful staff!!

I love to play Magic: the Gathering here. It has a great, family friendly, casual environment for play. They have an excellent selection of board games and comics new and old.  If you like vintage yours, check them out.

Great selection of books, games, and figures. Specialized in new and collected comics of course...  Staff is very quick to answer questions, find or order an item, make suggestions - or just talk about comics.  They are friendly and obviously fans themselves.  Lots of games and figures in addition to comics- been making weekly visits for a while now and intend to remain a loyal customer.

Our entire family loves A Plus Comics. They kindly welcome us every time we walk in. It's a wonderful feeling to be relatively new in a city but a familiar face where you hope to be recognized.
My boys have discovered that they may not find what they're looking for one Saturday, but it may be there the next, which is really fun.
My husband, children and I appreciate the vast collection they have compiled. Local or a visitor, A Plus is worth a visit!

I have enjoyed A Plus for several years back when it was close to nicholas ville rd. Very friendly owners and employees are always nice and friendly wether it's looking for something or just knowledgable about what your buying. I also like the openness of the layout not you typical cramped area. Keep up the great work we'll see you soon!

Always friendly and always happy to give suggestions and offer their services! Selection of comics is good and they're very open to new acquisitions, especially in the kid-friendly area. Tons of games and always improving selection of D&D figured and books. They also are far more welcoming to women than certain other shops in the area.

Great comic book shop. The staff are current on the books and they can take a look at your history and make great recommendations.  They have a good collection of board games and will not recommend something they haven't played.

I buy 90% of my comics and games from this store. I dont collect memorabilia or collectibles but I have seen a good selection of 1980s toys and figurines, but it's not my milieu so I can't speak to the collection or condition.

This is one of only two stores in town that I recommend for comics.

This shop is adorable and wonderfully stocked. They have tons of comics and board games, including a service to get your monthly fix of your favorite series. The staff are kind and knowledgeable and I am thrilled that this place is so close to me so that I can walk from my house and satisfy my comic addiction regularly!

Awesome shop. They have a great selection of comics and collectibles. They have a large selection of vintage Star Wars and G.I. Joe figures. I've been out of the loop of regular comic reading for the past 10 years and the staff there took the time to catch me up to speed of some of my old favorites. They provided recommended reading and helped me select some excellent graphic novels. They suggested I check out other comic shops in the area when I come back in town, but I think the first place I'll check out when I'm in Lexington is A Plus.

I started to come here every week other week or so to play in the Yu-gi-oh tournament every Saturday and I had a blast there. The employees are so kind to me it made me feel special. One time they had a tournament but I was sick  and couldn't go but I also needed to buy something there so I asked my sister to go and get it for me while I was the car, and when she got back she told me that one of the employees asked where I was. This place makes me feel special. Amazing service

Looked high and low for vintage action figures in Lexington and just stopped in one day to find a great selection and reasonable prices.  James was very helpful and I left with some great vintage figures.  Just called in after leaving an accessory behind and a lady said she would search for it and hold it back for me. Highly recommended.

I have shopped there for my entire time of seminary and no one cared more for his customers than Russ.  He will bend over backwards to help you find what you want.  I have since moved and he still ships comics to me on a monthly basis.  He cares enough he came to my wedding in NC.

I've been to most comic stores in Lexington and this one is probably one of my favorites. The staff is nice, and are were willing to help if I have a question about something.

Super friendly staff and very knowledgeable. I only go in about once a month and they remember me every time. Great group of guys working there! Store is big and seems to have plenty of stock for all your nerdy and geeky needs.

I love how the store has a good collection of comics, games and collectibles. I went to buy some Transformers Tcg cards and they had the at release. Been back 4 times and haven't had them since. I don't know if it's not popular enough to re-order or they keep selling out. Staff  is quiet but friendly. Prices are fair. Great place for the enthusiast.

Store is a good size with a huge variety of comics, cards, and collectibles.  Staff is friendly, decent turn outs for events, clean.  Only thing i'll say is expect to pay a little more.

Pros: Very clean and well organized.  Prices for loose figures were cheap and plenty to choose from.  Comics section was spread out across the store.  Wide variety of comics, and the staff was very helpful.

I wasn't welcomed when I went in the door. The store had a limited selection of comic books, mostly new stuff featured. The store has a good selection of action figures, collectibles, and board games for its size. The store is well-lit and family friendly.

Of all the comic shops that I've played in around the local area, this is the most impersonal one that I've played in. They carry Comics, card games, collectibles, pretty much everything but warhammer, and I may be wrong about the warhammer. They have a website where you can surf their inventory and put together an order and have the staff pull your purchase in advance, which is pretty cool. The play space is pretty good. The prices are average. The selection is probably the best in town. They had consistently the largest crowd I've seen around, between both Richmond, Lexington, and Winchester. That being stated, FNM felt more like a qualifier or special event than a casual get together, although some of the older players were really pleasant to play with. The play space was just big enough not to feel crowded. Outside food is allowed, and there is a pretty awesome Chinese place a couple of doors down. One big detractor is that they have wifi but won't share. The employees have a standard answer of "the owner won't even tell us," that sounds well rehearsed. As stated in my other reviews, If your customers are going to be spending their Friday nights in a place, as well as $700-$1000 or more on cardboard annually, allowing your customers to use the wifi for those couple of hours should be a no-brainer.

went to A+ comics today in hopes of finding some new funkos, but i stumbled across this counterfeit pop in the store. i went to ask the clerk about it. i stated “is this pop authentic” (knowing it wasn’t) and the clerk decided to lie and tell me it was real in hopes that i would purchase this counterfeit item. double check your items if you are ever unsure!

Literally didn't even want to hear what I had to sell, denied me the second I mentioned I had trading cards... The girl on the phone said they do not take singles, before I could even state it was a full set numbered to 50,100 and 200 in the world.  The cards I have are valued near $10,000 in an Ebay setting; Why mention you buy collectibles if you do not even express interest in products that are of high value?     I will never go to this store after the way I was treated on the phone.

Went in with cash in hand to buy some older cards from their display case. I had them look up about 10 different cards but was told on EVERY SINGLE CARD “sorry it’s already sold online”...  THEN TAKE THEM OUT OF THE DISPLAY CASE YOU NUMBSKULL!! I literally got my money refused on a varchilds war riders lmfao what a joke. Terrible way to do business... either allocate certain stuff to your website and keep it out of site of in store cash paying customers or be ready to cancel online orders if a customer walks in wanting to buy. Ridiculous. Not that I care  what you do... been buying stuff from you for years but I won’t be back after this. Customers that took the time to commute to your shop should not be refused because your staff is too incompetent to keep products that are already sold off the sales floor.

I pretty much recommend any comic shop in Lexington aside from this one.

This store holds the policy that pull list folders must have a card on file (not the case at other stores around here) and customers must pay for a title for the duration of an order period after cancelling ( around 3 months). This means that if a loyal customer wanted to cancel a new book they didn’t find to their liking, they would be stuck with 3 more issues. This is, again, not the policy of other stores in Lexington.

Also, for those who have forgotten. This store did not promote or carry Astonishing X men #51 (The first gay Wedding in comics.). Very Kim Davis of them.

The owner (admits openly to not being a comic reader) and most of the employees have very little comic book knowledge.

If you’re looking for gaming stuff, why not try D20 Hobbies down the street? They are friendly and have a much better selection of board games and game nights/tournaments. If you’re looking for comics, try Comic Interlude, Heroes Realm, Inner Geek. You will find that you are treated with much more respect in any other comic or game shop in Lexington.

Called in advance to ensure I would be able to bring my SDiT to free comic book day. The person who picked up said it would be no problem. When I got to the store I made sure to wipe off my dogs paws so that he wouldn’t leave a mess in their store. A woman approached me and said I needed to leave. I said I called and that he is a Service Dog in Training. She said okay and left then came back and said she spoke to the owner and he said I needed to leave. However he didn’t come up to me himself. This woman harassed me for no reason. My dog bothered no one. I could have stayed if I wanted but I was there with my fiance and didn’t want to ruin his day. Very rude and inconsiderate employees.
