About This Store

The Bethel Community Thrift Store in New Orleans, Louisiana offers a unique shopping experience for customers seeking quality secondhand goods at reasonable prices. According to reviews, the store boasts "a great variety and selection of products from home decor to furniture and kids toys" with "reasonable prices."

One customer, jared knox, shared their excitement over finding "a new $50 work shirt (with tag) for $9.99," highlighting the store's ability to provide significant savings on name-brand merchandise. Another reviewer, Reby Rae, noted that the Bethel Community Thrift Store is "one of the only charity shops in the city proper" and expressed hope that it would become "more popular."

Customers consistently praise the friendly and helpful staff, with one reviewer, Marie Mutin, stating "the staff is so friendly & helpful" and that she "will be back soon." Another customer, L Knight, simply described the staff as "Helpful."

However, not all reviews were entirely positive. One customer, Excited About The Apocalypse, had a more mixed experience, noting the "wacky radio evangelists" playing over the store's sound system and the "boss lady" who "rules with an iron fist." They also found the pricing system to be somewhat confusing, describing it as involving "a bunch of cats, a large barrel, some 3 by 5 index cards, an economy sized tub of vicks vap o rub, and a lawn sprinkler."

Despite these minor criticisms, the overall sentiment from customers is overwhelmingly positive, with reviewers highlighting the "great deals and prices," the "nice people," and the store's ability to provide a sense of "community and comradery." The Bethel Community Thrift Store appears to be a valuable resource for the New Orleans community, offering a unique shopping experience and a wide selection of secondhand goods at affordable prices.

Sweaters bottoms and tops for work. I enjoy the store. I find many items. I purchased two $25 basket. I am able to get 60 items. Now The staff let's be honest can sometimes feel a little racist. I have purchased here on several occasions and evey time; there is something I observe. Last purchase. Necklace sweater and dress.

They have some incredibly good finds. The people are friendly enough, I wish they wouldn't shout "welcome to the thrift store !" En masse everytime anyone comes In. The soundtrack, Played through a large karaoke machine is wacky radio evangelists, which in between begging, pleading, cajoling ,and outright demanding, money Plays the same 3 songs blasting tinnily through the men's jeans section, then I get warned about being in the ladies dept. Like I give r gender rules. Sometimes ladies jeans just come in cooler patterns. Boss lady rules with an iron fist and will knock a few bucks off for me sometimes. Shoes are ludicrously expensive considering everything they get is.... ya know, free.i miss the good old days of thrift storing when it was set prices for each kind of thing, not based on brand.im not sure what system they use to decide prices, probably something involving a bunch of cats, a large barrel, some 3 by 5 index cards, an economy sized tub of vicks vap o rub, and a lawn sprinkler. That being said , probably the best thrift store in the state.
