A uniquely impressive and positive experience. I had a high end lamp that needed repair. Called many places in Boston area. Most could not do repair and some said yes but with high price and long wait time. I left a message for Seth who called me right back. Looked at photos I sent and said he could do repair. I brought lamp in to his cool shop. He repaired while I waited and could not have been more fair in the pricing. He is a talented pro and we are lucky to have his skills in the area.
Aww. Thank you. I'm glad we were able to help!

I spoke with a very knowledgeable gentleman who diagnosed my issue with an old door from 1916 and advised me on how I could correct the problem myself at no charge. I was really pleasantly impressed with the client care I received and would highly recommend this business. Thank you again for going above and beyond and helping me to understand the issue and possible fixes for my door!
I'm glad we were able to help. Thanks for the kind words!

I recently brought in an antique music box which still played, but the music sounded a little scratchy. I expected to leave it for a couple of weeks, but Seth made a few adjustments which did the trick. When I asked how much I owed him, he told me there was no charge. I can tell that Seth is someone who truly loves what he does!
Aww. Thank you for the lovely review. It was truly no big deal. Glad to have been able to help.

Recently I have gotten a lucky chance to use RARE Restoration services. In their trade every case is unique, so the solution to the problem must be very individualized, it is not « one size fits all » like the majority of goods and services of nowadays. I broke all 4 mini-hinges of a cabinet made in Europe about 35-40 years ago. This cabinet was and is of a great sentimental value to me. But the replacement hardware was not available, absolutely not, period. Seth explained to me that he would solve the problem anyway, he had a plan B . But Seth, being a proud professional, was not satisfied just with any solution, he was looking for the best solution . It was difficult, he confessed, and took him time but he somehow managed to obtain all 4 replacement hinges. Having come through Seth’s brain and hands the fixed doors look better than ever before. And the interaction with the RARE people during this uncertain time was so pleasant, so personable, so relaxing, that I am thinking (no joke!) about breaking something intentionally just to repeat my experience with RARE. I brought in a desk lamp that had been glitching. He seemed to diagnose the problem in a minute and instantly went to work to correct the issue—problem solved in about three minutes. And when I asked what I owed him, he brushed me off and would not accept payment, despite my protest. That SCREAMS of integrity, as well as a good and kind heart. Thank you again! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Thanks for the kind words! Glad I was able to help.

Discouraged at being unable to fix or replace century-old brass doorknobs that no longer worked, we brought them in and Seth miraculously repaired them so that they are working perfectly. Due to Seth's expertise and skills, we were spared having to change them for newer, uglier, cheaper doorknobs.
I'm so glad we were able to help! I hope this finds you well.
