Main Street Antiques in Essex, Massachusetts is a well-regarded antique store that offers customers a unique shopping experience. The store is packed with a colossal inventory of antiques and furnishings, described by one customer as "a gem of an antique store." The selection is amazing and reasonably priced, though the compact layout may be better suited for more slender customers.
Exploring the store is part of the thrill, as customers delight in discovering hidden treasures among the well-stocked shelves that go "floor to ceiling." One reviewer suggests bringing a flashlight to help see the details, as the lighting, while fine, can create shadows that obscure the condition of the merchandise.

This is a gem of an antique store; one that my husband and I love to visit. We’ve purchased a few things from this over the last few years (twin beds, dining room chairs and a few small items). The place floor to ceiling of antiques and yon never know what you will discovered. Half the fun is going and looking around!

Map placement is close, but not quite. It's to the north of the pin a few hundred feet. Colossal inventory in close quarters. Furniture and other items in pretty good to excellent condition. If you are up for an antiquing adventure, plan to spend time in this place. Bring a flashlight - will help see details. Lighting is fine, but there's a lot of shadows. We got several items we really like.

They are closing and have posted that items are 50% off. They will not barter or make any deals. Owner was very rude. It is more of a hoarding situation than a storeowner that wants to sell items.

So incredibly over crowded that we felt claustrophobic. Couldn't stay or be bothered looking at the chaos.
