been going to global for over twenty years and i do enjoy going there as it has become for me a destination as i live close by. things have very much changed since the new owner took over. some ways good...some ways not so good. prices on clothing have gone up. new manager has a nice hardgoods department with reasonable prices. most employees do not speak English. i like music for now too loud and distracting. and the rule that you have to leave your bags at the front near the entrance is very weird indeed. someone must have complained cause now there is a ridiculous drawing of the size of the bag you can brings in the store. this is quite bizarre. i know from being the store alot that people will steal no matter what size bag you can bring in. there are cameras everywhere but people still steal all the time. and its not the ones who bring in bags. ive seen people put a coat and walk right out of the store. ive seen people shove things in their pockets and walk out the store. ive seen people put on shoes and walk right out of the store. so what im saying here people are going to steal. they find a way. lately there are a lot of weird men who just hang out there. some of them are so weird that they fondle clothing and linens. sickos really. however with all the above i will still go to global because its what i do. hello. it is now feb 11, 2025 so just thought this review needs an update. as previously mentioned been a global shopper for the past twenty years. you wont know me cause im a cash customer always. well just recently i just have to comment on a fairly new cashier. dont wear name tags so dont know her name. she has very long dark hair. this gal is an asset to global thrift. she is polite. she is always helpful with questions. careful handling and packaging items. and sometimes she is the only one at the registers. very conscientious. she is golden employee and very much appreciated.

Solid variety and great prices. The store is easy to navigate. I've often uncovered gems here especially in the dresses section. The kids section is well stocked and I appreciate that it's presented as gender neutral.

This thrift store always has something unique at a great price. Swing by this time of year for lots of Halloween costumes. I regularly find good deals on coats, books, and random vintage toys here. Also their new artwork and decor really brings this place up a notch!

I was blown away by the selection! I found the coolest pair of Frye boots and LLBean jacket both in great condition. I could have spent hours and hundreds easily if I had the time and money. Also Mark helped me at the register and was an absolute joy, he was very kind but also a great salesman (not at all in a pushy way). Very positive experience.

As always, amazing finds at Global Thrift, one of my favorite local thrift stores located right in my native hometown of Waltham. I always try to visit whenever I'm in the area. Dedicated free parking lot in the back of the store around the corner down Gordon Street, look for the "Bistro 781" sign on your right. Huge place, great selection, thrifty prices. Good selection of kitchen ware and cooking utensils, lots of glassware. Good sized men's section, good sized electronics section, kids section, good for furniture, and your usual thrift store staples. Multiple changing stalls as well. FYI, for their good sized shoe section, they only display one shoe of the pair, both to prevent theft and to save on space. It's located right next to the register though, so all you need to do is ask the cashier for assistance. Also check out J&M Dollar Discount on the same corner. Great little family run dollar store offering a great selection of inexpensive goods.

I want to support this business because so many people and myself come here. Like many of the comments, it's become a miserable experience being surveilled, particularly by one employee that will go unnamed (you know who you are) Ive been harassed in stores before, so this was not a new experience. But when I saw them tell a mother to leave her infant's stroller at the door, it felt like something should be said. You shouldn't have to carry your infant baby just to go clothes shopping. I believe the concerns about theft, but you are pushing away your community. Trust and respect is needed if you want people to care for your business. I'm sure some security measures were needed (the shoe thing was smart), but there has to be some other way that does not involve policing your customers' every move. I'm sure many of your customers want Global Thrift to stay around, and would be willing to help in the ways they can. Ask us for donations after checkout. Tell us about any fundraising opportunities. Operate on a 'see something, say something' system. Start a loyalty punch card, or more deals that might discourage theft. Whatever you think is best. You'd be surprised how your community will show up for you.

other reviews describe as sketchy, was perfectly fine. imagine a savers but most of the overhead lights were turned off. excellent prices, plenty of options, bonus points for color-coding instead of sorting by gender/size. while in the home goods section looking at mugs, we were approached by (presumably) a store worker holding a mug covered in pictures of Thranduil from The Lord of the Rings, asking us who it was. while this didn’t detract from the overall experience, we did find a cup of what appeared to be melted foamy ice cream (pictured). overall, one of the more fulfilling thrifts i’ve been to. plenty of options + good prices + relaxed atmosphere.

I got a leather jacket, silk skirt, gym wear item, tank top, mens button up, and flannel for about $33. Good, quality brands. I can’t speak to how prices always are, but I feel I got a good deal. There was a lot in the store to choose from. It could’ve been a bit cleaner.
