In response to Karla's comments, we do have people sign a sheet because we are not a consignment store. We don't want you coming in two weeks later and saying, "I want my couch back." That just fouls up our business. Customers get 35% of the sales price of their stuff as long as we sell the items for more than $20. We don't give refunds on the small stuff (less than $20 selling price). No other junk removal company gives you money back. We've given more than $40,000 back to customers over the years. We think that's pretty good instead of taking that stuff to the landfill. We have new stuff coming in all the time to the store. Come check it out! Thanks.

Not worth the business. I saw an ad on a bus stop wall in Gaithersburg, MD and thought it would be a good idea to use this company for getting rid of some furniture while I moved and get paid for it. It was a mistake. I had to pay in advance for some weird truck measurement I didn’t understand. 1/2 truck this price or quarter truck that price and I am thinking this isn’t my problem that’s on the company to haul what I say I have that needs to be hauled and let me know accordingly and provide that solution on their own. So I paid for whatever truck load I thought was appropriate. Day of the removal I have to call this guy up and come to find out this guy was in New England somewhere. I am thinking really? Doesn’t this guy plan accordingly? Isn’t this a professional business? No, he doesn’t and it’s not. It shouldn’t be my problem but it was and I was committed after paying in advance and having time constraints. So after talking to him after reaching out to him not the other way around he said he could be there the next day. I said “yeah that’d be great” like I had a chose because I was on a tight schedule to vacate my apartment. So he shows up with a pickup truck by himself. I am waiting for his crew to show up. No crew no other truck. He starts to move a full size couch, a love seat, end tables and an entertainment center out on his own. I can’t believe this because it was extremely inefficient. Just picture it, one guy moving bulky furniture. I was pleasantly surprised when he was able to get the couch out on his own. But other than that this was a joke and a waste of my time. I paid someone and employed them when I didn’t need to. Come to find out building maintenance would have hauled it away for free and donated it to a family in need. So this dude finally got all the stuff out while my movers were finishing up. Can’t leave him there while I go with the movers to the next location. He took the stuff in a few pickup truck loads to where ever he took it to and I thought the worst was over. Nope, the disappointment continued. Pretty soon after I got a response which said the stuff was no good for sale and had to be taken to the dump or whatever where I would not get paid for it but I could get a tax write off instead. I thought that was BS because my stuff was well kept I just didn’t want to put it in storage after my move. So I paid this guy for a service he didn’t completely provide. I felt conned and misled. He finally sent me a text of some hand jammed scribble on some charity memorandum for a donation for taxes and asked me if I wanted a hard copy for taxes. I said yeah please send it to this address (my good address). Never received it. I reached out later and have the text I can add to this review to show asking for it again. He condescending gave it a thumbs up and never sent it. This guy is a swindler. Do not do business with him. If you are thinking about this to remove unwanted furniture don’t, contact other options to donate or remove your furniture. Don’t pay someone who definitely doesn’t deserve your business. It was absolutely a mistake to do business with this guy.

MY relatives passed away and I hired Alan Cook at "Junk Refund" to remove the entire contents of their home in Leisure World. Several really nice pieces including a crystal chandelier were included. There was about a truck load and a half in total. Not all was for resale. He signed a contract which included 35% refund on salable items. The remaining fee that I paid was to cover removal and disposal. As an example,he commented on the value of the chandelier and it being a quick sale.I have called and talked with him several times over the last year and a half. Not a penny has been "Refunded to us", His business plan is to promise a lot and deliver nothing other than the removal of the items. If you are temped to fall for this line, just don't plan on getting any thing back regardless of its value. He is a smooth talker. Don't trust him.

Basically I paid to have my antique furniture stolen by Junk-Refund, They arrived at my house, loaded my furniture then showed me paper work that stated the property was 100% theirs since it was on the their turck. Also I woould get 35% of the sold value and they would get 65% of the profit. Of course I initially refused to sign the paper and was told by the owner Allen that now they did not have to give me anything for my furniture and then refused to unload the truck of my belongings even when I offered to pay to unload it.I reluctantly signed the paper and was told that when my items sold I would recieve a check. They first check never got to my house and the second reissued check never came either. They are a complete RIP OFF. You would be better off just taking your own things to charity and getting a right off on your taxes.
