Vacationing in Boothbay Me, decided to go out and ride around to nearby towns and check them out. Went to Damariscotta first and went to a wonderful shop located off the main rd, on Bristol Street 1839 House. This shop is in the back of a private residence, in their Barn and if you love country crafts and antiques pay them a visit. I have come to this shop many times while visiting Boothbay. Joni the owner is the sweetest lady and her shop has been open many decades. Temptations such as pottery, redware plates, antique jugs, primitive handmade crafts, antique German and Japan Santa’s, dolls and the list goes on. Upstairs she has antique furniture and rugs. When I paid her a visit she just starting to put out some Halloween stuff. Looked around and found a wonderful handmade German Santa smoker in excellent condition. The feet comes off the body and you put an incense pellet in the appropriate spot and light it so it burns and reattach the feet to the body and the smoke out of his mouth. So great, Joni told me she just put him on display, lucky me, got him for a great price. Loved my stop at the 1839 House again. For all the lovers of this sort of shopping come check this store out.
