I just moved here from TX where thrift prices are cheap and I am BLOWN AWAY by this place. Incredible prices, quality, and for a good cause? What is not to love?!? No shein! Needless to say, y’all got yourself a new regular.

Owner Response

Parsa, thank you so much for your kind review. We appreciate it as we can serve more families with your support! Welcome to town!

Love donating items to our local needs. Real easy to look at the SW metro and not think we have needs. There are plenty of people here that have life events limiting some part of their life. Prop Ship is our number one source to donate to.

Owner Response

Jerry, thank you so much for your support and for looking to help in your community. There are many local families who are experiencing hardships, and we greatly appreciate you making it possible for us to help with clothing, household goods, and furniture. Thank you so much!

Having a spouse that works with individuals & families during the worst times of their lives and having come from meager means myself as child, I know the impact an organization like the one The Prop Shop supports can make in someone’s life. I drive past 2 “big name” thrift stores with lower prices because I appreciate the work that PROP does in my local community. I don’t mind paying slightly higher prices than “big name” thrift stores that only use about 1/3 of their income to provide services, because I know the money spent is being poured right back into the community. I see it as the thrift version of “shop local”. I also really appreciate that -either through donor effort, volunteer effort, or both- I never have to worry about clothing I purchase from The Prop Shop having tears, holes, stains, or missing buttons, which I’ve found when reviewing items to purchase elsewhere - sometimes even in a regular retail shop. The brands are great, I can always find something that fits the vision I’m trying to bring to fruition. With prices that beat the best retail clearance price for the brands I like, and great condition everything is in, I always find some great find that makes my bargain-hunter heart sing. Thanks for serving our community & for all the great finds, Prop Shop crew & PROP!

Owner Response

Thank you so much for your incredibly kind support and thoughtful patronage of thrift stores helping local families. Our mission is to help local families in need, and we provide free clothing, household goods, and furniture to them thanks to the generosity of our donors and supporters. Proceeds from the store enable us to purchase items that are not donated in sufficient quantity or quality, and we are buying more beds, blankets, sheets, socks, underwear, towels, dressers, tables, etc. than ever to meet that need. We have tremendous volunteers and staff who help make sure the thrift store provides good value for all while funding items that families need. While The PROP Shop and PROP Food Shelf are two separate organizations, we help many of the same families just in different ways. PROP Food Shelf is an amazing organization serving local families with food, financial assistance, and many other support services. The PROP Shop serves local families with clothing, household goods, and furniture. Thank you for your support of both organizations!

Frequent thrifter. This shop is clean, organized, has a bathroom, changing rooms AND quality goods (j crew, banana republic, loft, etc) small men’s sections. Home goods, furniture all at great prices- bottoms are $8 but often have 1-2 color tags half off.

Owner Response

Katalina, Thank you so much for your kind words. We’re so thankful for your support so we can serve more local families in need.

The prop shop has two different stores. One that you go thrift shopping at, and the other is by appointment. One is free and the other is not. Call check and ask. You can also donate here but you also have to schedule an appointment for that.

Owner Response

Thank you Wajeeh. We're a nonprofit resale store whose mission is to help local families in need with free clothing, household goods, and furniture. The resale store is open to everyone to shop and helps fund our programs for low-income families and families in crisis. You do not need to call for the resale store, but you can reach us at 952-934-2323; the store's regular hours are Mondays-Saturdays 10am-5pm and Sundays 12pm-5pm. However, if you need help and live in Eden Prairie or Chanhassen, call 952-224-7052 to discuss your needs. Our donation hours are Tuesdays-Saturdays 10am-3pm; we ask that you call ahead with furniture donations and check our website for a list of accepted items: www.propshopep.org/donate. We greatly appreciate the support from the community as it makes our service to local families possible; thank you for the kind review!

Found a fantastic Prom dress for my Daughter (New with Tags from Macy's for only $20!!) The staff/volunteers were all AMAZING! They have fitting rooms, which is Great for a thrift store. Found many, many wonder items. Plus there was a great 1/2 price sale on winter sweaters and scarfs. Even the other customers here are wonderful. I dropped some cash while checking out and the customer behind me followed me to the parking lot and returned it to me.

Owner Response

Cindi, We're so glad you had a great experience. We appreciate your support as our mission is to help local families in need with free clothing, household goods, and furniture. It takes a lot of people to make it work, and we're always glad to know when it does. Thank you!
