Great record store with music posters, impressive selection of Blu-Rays/DVDs, and tons of fun novelties such as Funko Pops and Pop Culture Action Figures. Spent over 2 hours here on Record Store Day and will definitely be back!

Awesome prices and selection and a friendly staff. Ordering records online for pickup is quick and easy. A great place to find a unique gift for that person in your life that is hard to shop for. They have something for everyone.

Decent vinyl selection with lots of used. I used to stop by there when I lived in Minneapolis 20+ years ago once or twice a week. Was just down there on business and nothing has changed, still a fun store 👍.

Fantastic store with all sorts of things - records, cds, posters, etc. The thing I love most about Down in the Valley is that their record selection is some of the best I've seen across the various record stores across the country. They stock tons of artists across a bunch of different genres and the records they have in stock just nails it! I have often walked in looking for one record and come out with 3-5.

A real record store. Has been in this location for at least 45 years. Records, cassettes, cds a growing kpop section. Eatables, incense, and a head shop.Mushroom gummies too.  A must shop on record store day.

I love this store. Super fun, quirky merch that are perfect for gifts to friends or for yourself. Lots of great options for the radical people in this world who dig nerd gear, music, weed, pop culture... Stay hip, stay fun, and shop at this staple of Golden Valley!! Visited the store on a Saturday with 3 of my grandchildren, who love vinyl records and are into current hip-hop and the music from my era (mid-60's to mid-70's rock).

Great selection of vinyl records, posters, dvd's, gift items and a wide variety of items related to, let's say, smoking, I found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful.

They have a loyalty program, which costs $10, and gets you $1 off on all media items and notification of early releases, sales etc.

Bigger than I was expecting, a lot to look through here. Bunch of fun non music items too and everything was organized well. Also I really appreciate that punk music was given its own section separated from rock/pop!

Great place to come!  My 13 year old loves it here and is in to vinyl and music from my generation so I love to bring her. The staff is always super helpful and they have a pretty good selection.   I was a little surprised at how much new CD's were still after all these years.

All-in-all, a 5 star store with a great selection and great staff.

Found the Abbey Road album here a lot cheaper than if I would’ve bought it online. They have a LOT of really good new and old artists here and i would’ve bought more if i could’ve 😅

Love this place, haven't been in since before covid. Came in to grab a couple cds and check out the pipes/merch... Still very much the same except the cd selection wasn't quite as great. Was followed and stared at immediately upon entrance which made it pretty damn uncomfortable to be in the store. Regardless... Ive been a millennial my whole life and was always one to be stared at. Quite annoyed that even pushing 40 people like to judge. So for that reason ive deducted stars. This place use to be very inviting, i used to even be a vip member back in the day for several years. Next time ill check out know name since I've never been treated like that there. For real though, we had literally three employees surrounding us. Pretty sad man. Maybe work on being human a bit more. See you in a year maybe things will be better then.

i love this store, however the male employee with the glasses was eyeing me the whole time as if i was shoplifting and was extremely rude to his coworkers and to customers including me and my boyfriend. I hope for the other workers sake that he isn’t the manager, i’d feel horrible for them to have to deal with that everyday.

Product cool. Front desk was rude. Apparently I'm supposed to know not to bring outside sale items in the store. Even after I asked the policy, nicely and apologized for my lack of knowledge.  Seemed to have a stick up his butt. Very unpersonable as the front desk store first impression.. Hopefully other staff makes up for his bad skills.

Prices are getting ridiculous for glass when you can go to other smoke shops and purchase glass for cheaper and look better. But good environment, nice staff. Love tye sweaters here and great incense collection love some king cake

I hear you and I'm addressing this asap. I appreciate all the great reviews but sometimes it's nice to hear when we fall short so we can address things like this that are in our control. Give us another shot next time you're in town. I apologize.

Decent selection of pop culture items & cute stickers. Got really dude-bro vibes from all of the employees. Only one was friendly. Everyone else was making inappropriate jokes to each other from across the store, not friendly at all when I checked out- just a super uncomfortable vibe. I’m from out of town & went specifically to find a cool new place, but I wouldn’t go back.

A 2 star review that hurts to write. This is an awesome record shop that is unfortunately staffed with people who are not knowledgeable of their process and lack basic customer service especially on the busiest record , and passion to even look up from their phones or computer. I know 2023 is a tough place to be an associate but have the basic knowledge to help your customers even if the answer is “I don’t know let me find out for you” OR if you don’t have the knowledge at least have some skills in talking to people without a condescending tone. I felt like I was at minimum a burden if not a huge inconvenience when I needed some help on a pick up order. Great selection of records however staff made for a bad experience. Record stores are a sacred place and I use them to escape even for a second from this muddy world and it’s a shame the people there are taking it for granted because truly it’s a beautiful shop. If I got paid to spend my day helping customers in a record store I’d consider myself the luckiest person on the planet and I’d wear that on my sleeve. Love what you do or get out cause you’re ruining it for real customers.

Oof.  Super rude guy on the phone. I just called for some help. Met with a "too busy to talk".  Maybe don't answer if you have no help to offer. Or wait until you aren't so cranky.

Some of the employee's are rude, rude, rude. I was uncertain as to where I should check out so I asked, because both the people standing behind the counter acted like I was invisible. And then one of them pointed to the register towards the front of the store, if you've ever been in there you know there's open counterspace on both sides but apparently I went to the wrong side and the person ringing me up said some snarky words under her breath like I was stupid for not knowing. you only pointed at the register not which side of the register to go to. Anyways bad customer service will make me get my weekly supply of incences some place that appreciate I'm shopping there.

Bought the wrong battery from the smoke counter and realized the second I got to the car. Went back in just to be told they couldn't return it. I wasn't even gone 30 seconds. Zero customer service what so ever. Never heard of this from any other smoke shop I've bought from.

Three times the charm.  Every time my wife and I have went in here.  The staff are rude as hell, have an attitude or something smart to say out of their mouth.  Enjoy your store because we are done supporting anything to do with it.  We will not waste our time or our money here.  We suggest you don't waste yours either.  The vibe here is like a bathroom at a truck-stop out in the middle of Doomville!  No thanks...

Davy, I have the video footage if you'd like to review it with me. No one said anything about watching your group because of "big jackets." The "Weezer Roadie" shot you took at one of my employees was all class btw. You walked into a situation that you had no detailed knowledge of and drew your own conclusions. Yes, we pay attention to what's going on in our stores especially when we have 1000+ folks through the door on BF.  I believe you even went up and asked a manager if we get a lot of theft on a "day like today", to which he downplayed. Google retail theft and you'll see it is an issue and we're not different than any other business. Also, you support local musicians but then mention Target is the alternative? I was in tonight Friday November 24th.at about 5:15pm with my wife and step son and his girlfriend. While pulling into the lot the employees were questioning someone who had a tag on from a previous shop. And it set the security sensors off.
Upon walking in it was all eyes on us. One employee that looked like a Weezer roadie was talking with several other employees and said they have big jackets watch them. And while we flipped through albums we were watched like hawks.
There is nothing in this store I couldn’t buy myself. I’m a musician and would never steal anything from other hard working musicians I know better and am an adult with kids older than most of the employees that work here.
This is profiling at its worst, I will not be back and I will word of mouth to all of my colleagues and friends to do the same.
Not one of the employees said hello or may I help you find anything.
If you’re concerned with theft hire a security guard to sit at the door.
You charge enough for the same Taylor swift albums I could buy at Target.
Your management needs to train you all.
