Visited this place a few times while I was in Maple Grove for work. Cool place, lots of great records and other cool stuff! Staff was great, pricing was also great and had a wide variety of items to choose from.

I went in looking for a specific list of artists vinyl for Christmas gifts, and the staff was so helpful. They definitely know their music!

As always this shop  is great for buying music and vinyls. Love all the little weird things to look at., keeps me entertained  while my husband flips.

After trying to find several old and new release vinyls at Cheapo with zero success I gave these guys a call - they had pretty much everything on my list and held them at the counter until I could make it there. Nice employees and good vibes too.

Down In The Valley is a unique place for records, posters, smoke, dvds, and random cool stuff. Definitely a place you can spend some time and explore. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

One of the best record stores in the Twin Cities. They have a very good selection of new vinyl and decent used selection. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I also recommend becoming a VIP and get a dollar off every record.

I love down in the valley. So many interesting things to purchase or just browse. The cashier even drew a portrait of me and it was so nice. Will return for some gifts. Oh, and the vinyl, that was so awesome thumbing through the records, reminded me of good memories hanging with my gram listening to old country on the turn table. She even did it with my son. Had his bassinet by the record player and would rock him to the music.

Love this place.  Where I do 90% of my vinyl shopping.  Staff is friendly and helpful, and a great selection. If they don't have it at the store you're at, there's a good chance they can find it at one of their other locations.

I went in today to get my favorite things. Made one purchase, and then had my card declined for my trinkets and things. Instantly, I just got to put them on hold since I'm a rewards member.

Please don't think of this as a place to get glass and "drug" related items. This is a record store and place to heal the mind and soul. Every interaction you have here will have some twinkle of soul in it.

Highly recommend coming here for incense, real Native sage, records, CDs, KPOP Albums, posters, and knick knacks out the kazoo ;)

You can also find hand stitched hemp made clothing, sustainably made, and at REASONABLE prices. The posters, stickers, pins, and goods blow my mind every time.

I came here to buy funky fungus merch only to be surrounded by sounds and melodies etched into the crevasses of circular pvc slabs. Astounded I had run my fingors along these slabs to savor the flavor of its contents only to be told "sir please don't touch the merchandise" clearly these slabs are sacred so I shall respect the shop guru's plee.

Great new store with all your smoking needs.  Everything a head shop should have, this place has.  Great selection of edibles and smoking accessories, records. Shirts, posters etc.

Great selection of fun products, clothing, wide array of music, silly gifts, smoking devices, and so much more.  The staff is always super helpful and kind.

Smaller than the Golden Valley location, yet I got the impression that the selection here is even better curated. In a single visit I found vinyls for three great local bands (Remo Drive, Early Eyes, VIAL) that I haven't seen in GV before

Really great little record store. I went for record store day, arriving around 6am and was about the 20th person in line. I like that they have you give a staff member the name of the titles that you're looking for and they'll grab them for you, so everything happens in the order that you were lined up. Staff was friendly and helpful!

Though small, it's a very cool place! I was mostly looking over the used vinyl section and the 2 I bought were in near perfect condition and the price was very fair. They also have many other things that they sell. Definitely worth checking out!

Incredible!!! My daughter told me there was a store I had to check out. I went just so I could tell her I did go. I am so damn happy I went. As soon as I walked in the door it made me feel like I was in my teens again. I think I did about 4 laps around the store finding something new I wanted each time. I will be back and I will be a customer for along time. Staff was great, they knew where everything was when i asked. Awesome experience and I'm so happy stores like this still exist.

Staff was very kind helping me find a d&d group to play with, player community for 5e was extremely welcoming and kind. Will definitely be back to purchase supplies!

Great store to find posters, vinyl records, and funko pop figures. Friendly staff helped me find a record I was looking for, and there was a decent selection to choose from. I was hoping to find used records there, but it seems like they only carry new unopened albums. I would definitely go back if there was an album I wanted in new condition.

A very relaxed and interesting shop, full of various things you can't even find online really. Always cool to stop by and see what's new etc. If you're in the area and enjoy music or nerdy culture, stop by and check their shop out. Super nice staff as well.

This store is literally so bomb! I’ve never been there and I looked up fun stores to go to and this store showed up. Me and my friend didn't know what to expect but soon as we went in I was in awe.  You should definitely go here sometime in your life!

Staff is always helpful and knowledgeable.
Only complaint is the guy that’s usually there when I stop in looks quite disheveled and honestly kind of dirty. I understand the shop is not a fancy place but I think a professional appearance could go a long way.

Nice selection a little to pricey on used albums but they did have a dollar section.

Decent selection of music.  Had a good load of RSD vinyl on hand.  There was a bit of overpowering fragrances in the room that lingered after we left.  Staff were very friendly and attentive.

I go for used vinyl and this location is bad. Gotta sit on the freaking floor to dig through the majority and I can't. Golden Valley is tons better for used. Both can order what you can't find.  Great people.

Everyone is helpful when they need to be. They have a pretty good selection. Was a little disappointed in the lack of used vinyls at the Maple Grove location so I am excited to see what it looks like in Golden Valley

I've been out of the loop when it comes to physical merchandise for quite some time. It seems pretty pricey here. I'd guess they make a lot of money on the smoking type items. The staff is friendly and helpful though.

Lots of cool things to look at, unfortunately thats about all I have done here. I cannot afford this place but, dont let that stop you from going!

I went in to purchase a PAX handheld vaporizer. The atmosphere was awesome.

I was carded, along with the rest of my group when we reached the "smoking" area (I'm 22, just so you know) so make sure if you plan on buying anything from the back area, you are 18 with your license.

The girl showed me how to use the PAX and care for it, which was awesome. She signed me up for the free reward system and I walked away with my PAX.

The only thing I didn't like was their return policy on some of the smoking items, but it is understandable.

I'm not sure what you're referring to as we do have Delta-8 edibles in stock (5mg). Furthermore, we'd been selling D8 since 2018. If you're looking for cartridges, I'd recommend you read the current hemp derived statute in Minnesota and get back to us.

Your standard Down in the Valley. This place would be a lot cooler if the sold Delta 8. The guy working said it was illegal in Minnesota at thats obviously not true seeing how they are literally the only business/smoke shop I have been to that doesn't sell delta 8. The money they are missing out on is insane... its low hanging fruit!

I’d heard great reviews. But, it’s vinyl selection was smaller than I would have expected. They had good stuff though, among the selection. The used section was also small but appeared in good condition. Also they carry the typical non music stuff (gift shop items). Overall it was pleasing if a bit limited.

Website clearly states that all 3 locations buy used DVDs. When showing up to the MG location I am rudely told that only the GV location buys DVDs.

Environment was great, I went here to view a few products they had. While I was looking a worker walked past me 30 times in the 20 min I was there. Never asked I needed anything just made me feel like he thought I was going to steal something. Not sure that I will be going back.

they do have a great selection of things in the store, however i did not have a good customer service experience. The staff immediately gave me off putting looks and asked for my bag, which i understood due to the policy. However when i was shopping around a staff member came up to me and a friend and tried to ask for ID when we were looking to purchase completely unrelated products and i did not have my ID because he took my bag. They had then stood behind us watching us the rest of the time after until we got up and started looking at other parts of the store. I went to purchase a bag they were selling but was told that i actually could not, so i was told that and had to ask for my bag while feeling rushed out of the store. Not a good first time experience unfortunately.

I purchased some vinyl records from here. I opened a new one and it was unplayable. I returned to the store for a refund or exchange and was told they would flatten the record.
I received a call a day later and was told it could not be flattened, that it wasn’t a factory defect, and said it was heat damaged and implied I had done it.
They will not refund me for the damaged new record that they sold me.

Went in to buy some quickfix, I ask if I could check the validation thing after purchasing, the manager then comes over and claims they only buy from verified sources, and I said okay so there shouldn’t be any issue checking, as in the past I’ve been burned. Not sure if he thought I was insulting his business or what I simply wanted to check, companies put those scan codes on their products for a reason and for peace of mind.

Mark, we're sorry the offer wasn't as much as expected but the condition of vinyl is everything.  

Out of 50 albums they chose 2. $8 for one and $2 for another. Don't waste your time selling your classic rock albums here.

Asked for a grinder with a catcher on bottom. They sold me one without one. They won't let me exchange even though it has not been used. Told me I would have to buy another. I understand all sales are final but they didn't give me what I asked for. Since they wrap it up I didn't notice until I got home.

Again understand policy but there needs to an exception if the business made the original mistake.

We bought 5 records last weekend and one of them had a manufacturing issue. I brought it back to the store and I had the worst customer service experience. The guy that “help me”, didn’t even try and instead of communicating everything in an understanding way, he was in fighting mode the whole time.
We’re local and we were planning to buy a bunch of records since we just got a new turntable but I guess I will not be spending our money here.

Go to another down in the valley. The one in Golden Valley is the best one, the staff are helpful and friendly. This location follows all of their Black customers around the store to the point it’s very obvious and uncomfortable. Poor service..

Terrible customer service.
Guy who was working was on a power trip.
I legally have my permit to carry a firearm.
It was concealed.
Yet I was told to leave the store because I was exercising my 2nd amendment(the right to bare arms).
No sign was posted on the door(which would legally not allow me to enter while carrying).
I will not be returning.
