Wow! Until a few days ago, I had only ever been here on the dollar days. (My nine-year-old LOVES dollar days!) I was never really impressed with what he got, but he enjoyed it, so I took him. But, wow... I visited the store earlier this week, and it was a NIGHT AND DAY difference. I believe we were there on the $4 day. I was blown away at the things I snagged for 4 freakin dollars. I'll be at the store tomorrow to check out the $7 day! Super cool place, great quality, and nice staff!! I used to work for Jean and Carey. I'm so happy to see the store thriving. ❤️

I LOVE THIS STORE!!  Every week are new and exciting things, it's always an amazing treasure hunt and the prices are awesome! I've gotten so many $50-60 items for $7 or under! Complete king size comforter set for $7!! For sure all my Christmas shopping will be done here probably in one trip!! Yesterday was mine and my husband first time going there they had so many selection and good prices aswell.  We got our daughter's birthday gifts from here Yesterday just for $4 when y I u would pay the full price else where. We had a question when we went to check out and the girl at the register was very nice and helpful and told us what we asked for. We are definitely coming back again. My husband asked that we will becoming back the next day.

My FAVORITE bin store of all time! I've gone to many in stl and Kansas City and this one still tops them. Always great finds even on $1 day.

House of bargains has been part of the community for 40+ years. They sell used also. HOB is retiring and will close. As of now they have rental equipment and I heard it will stay open. Go now to check closing discounts.

Modern version of an old-fashioned general store. A little bit of everything from groceries to guns.  And, what we went for today, fireworks. Great selection and decent prices.

This is a cool store! They have a great selection of firearms, ammunition, and accessories.

They also sell used furniture, grocery items, dog houses, and just a little bit of everything. It's fun just to go in there to walk around.

Fun place to waste some time on a rainy day. I did find a few things that were priced a bit high but everyone makes mistakes. Staff is helpful if wanting to test an item they also try to label some of the items.

Bin store. Different prices each day of the week. Always never know what you're going to find. Great place to kill time and shop for bargains.

Hi! Thanks for coming by! We wanted to mention, We never put damaged/ broken items out intentionally. Unfortunately,  what happens a lot is customers open items (even though they aren't supposed to) and they get broken/parts go missing. Or the items get mishandled by uncaring customers.  😞 We hope you Come back and See Us!

Still a lot of bins of stuff, still cheap, but you have to examine carefully; saw a lot of broken and damaged pieces.

We were a brand new Business still trying to figure out simple resolutions to issues we never had before. Like a Factory Sealed brand new phone not working. Not very many new in box items are defective, and we had to navigate the situation that we had never been in before. Obviously, we would have never sold a non-working phone intentionally. And we did end up giving your money back after a discussion of how to attempt to fix the situation. So I like HOB. But I'll never for get when they first opened they sold me a bogus phone that was completely unusable. And it was a premium item. I was told I could return with any problem. That same day just a few hours after I purchased it. I called spoke to the owner or daughter of the ones who used to own it. She told me that I was SOL. I had to eat to eat the cost. $110. .  ///
to HOB owner who responded to this review. 1. The phone was not factory sealed. And 2.  i called and went down. Both times I was told there was nothing that could be done. This was after the young lady at the register told me if it didnt work i could return it. I never received a refund or an offer. I was told and i quote " im sorry that the phone doesn't work its not our intention to sell non working things. I would never like to tell a customer sorry you have to eat the cost but.... We are unable to refund your purchase." That is word for word give or take a few words what was said to by the owner/ daughter of owner till unclear. Every business has to take the good with the bad. Own up to it. Dont pass some fake propaganda info to avoid negative feedback. Now ill be more then glad to work with you to resolve this and guarentee a revised review about how w business stepped up and fix something. Thats positive.

Lots of junk with some decent stuff mixed in. You can definitely get some good deals if you're persistent and willing to dig through the junk.

I love a local business, I do feel some stuff is way over priced like the old party decor, and everything else is good to go.

You never know what you might find and you might get it at a good price depending on the day. You also might see a lot of overpriced junk. You never know.

Hi there!! Thanks for your comments! We do not hold merchandise back for special occasions. (Exception being holiday items we hold until closer to the Holiday)  Closer to Christmas we DO strive to order Toy Only loads to
have more toys for bins, but we do put out toys every week. The other thing about this business is we have NO control on what kind of items we get in each week. Some weeks are heavy with toys, some weeks we don't have very many. It varies. But we DO put out at least 3 different loads each week. Usually, it is Amazon and Target and then a third load mixed together. Sometimes the third load is Home Depot, Macy's, Kohls, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, or others. So every week will be different.  Sorry you didn't find items you particularly liked this week, but we encourage you to follow our sneak peeks  and come back another time!

Is it me only noticing that the merchandise is not as good as it used to be!
I’ve noticed it’s getting worse and I decided to write a review because I went back today and I WAS NOT impressed.
For example, HOB was selling great toys and now you only have a few choices. Is HOB saving the toys for some sale event or Christmas sale? Is merchandise being held back for a special day?
Hopefully things get better because it is a great concept and helps families to save on merchandise they need or want.

Refreshing note: The Saturday prices are now $9.00. There are items I bought for $7.00 is now a premium item with a premium price. I guess HOB needs to stay with the economy and increase the prices. It really took the fun out of shopping there.

Hi there! First off, thank you for your Business!! We wouldn't be here if it weren't for customers like you! We would like to mention we have Had Premiums besides just the large appliances and Furniture since Opening Day. Now, we HAVE recently changed a few things regarding Premiums.  We now mix some green stickered Premium priced items in with our shelves. And we Have started lowering prices On Premiums. For example, When we first opened, we would assemble a light fixture (Regularly priced $80.00) and price it for 1/2 price ($40). Now, same light fixtures we are assembling and putting it on our wall and pricing it with a $15 green premium sticker. 😀 So you may be noticing more of that. By pricing a few things for $10 / $15 / or a set price of $7 it allows us to keep our Saturday Bin Price for everything else at only $7.00. Other options would be to raise out Saturday price to $10/$12/$15 like most Bin Stores. We DO encourge you to look up prices on anything we have Premium prices on! Our Premiums are New/Like New- Tested and we do guarantee them, so if there is something wrong with them, we do stand behind them. We won't allow a return on something simply bc a customer has changed their mind, but if they are defective, yes. Hope that clears things up!! Thanks again for your business! 

H.O.B bin store has been a must visit for my crew since it opened. It has gone downhill since it first opened with the entire principle of the store being changed from each day all items except for big furniture and large appliances having a set price. Now items that used to be part of the set price deal have individual pricing that is hardly discounted to buying the items new from a company that actually allows you to return items. It isn't a place a frequent very often but if you're looking to kill some time and aren't on the hunt for anything particular it's worth popping in.

Thanks for your review! Yes, some things may not be subjectively worth $7.00 on full stock day to all of our customers. We always suggest coming back on lower price days for those items! We also encourge customers to scan items with google lens or the Amazon app to insure they are getting a good deal! We have found a lot of times customers will think that something isnt worth very much and then we scan it and they end up being a $15-$20 item!! Hope that helps for future visits!

Thank you Travis, for your business and your opinion! We are sorry you don't find our discounts to your liking anymore. All of our Premiums are Brand New in Box and Have been inspected and Tested! They are marked 45%-75% below what you pay would pay for them at Amazon, Target, Walmart etc. We certainly think that IS a Low Price, sorry you do not feel that way! We also continue to discount our premiums the longer they sit there! Look for our yellow blow out tags! We usually blow out items after 1-2 months if they aren't moving at the 45%-75% off. Unfortunately, we had to discontinue our fill a bag days because we can no longer obtain the bags we used and we have not been able to source a replacement. However! We have replaced fill a Bag Day with 50cent day. We have done the calculations, and unless all the items in the fill a bag bag were teeny tiny, the cost would approximately be 50cents per item. So basically 50 cent day is the same deal as fill a bag day!  :) We hope this response addresses some of your concerns! We used to go here every week, not for about the last 2 months though. Some of the staff is decent and some of them are rather moody, kinda hit and miss as far as that goes, and the premium priced items are wayyy over priced some of them anyway, probably why they have not gotten rid of alot of premium items , we all know its an Amazon bin store and the kinda of rates loads go for versus the asking prices on somethings is silly. I mean I can't knock them for trying to get big bucks on some stuff but when people see those prices from a place claiming to be a discount store  its like a smack in the face and NO BoDY likes a smack in the face so I would say the rule is the same for places they shop. We still go every few weeks but for the most part we don't shop there much anymore. We miss the bag sale days also. Its funny how businesses have great deals when they first open but then those deals you grow to love change or fade away.

Hi Charissa! Thanks for your review, You may be confused though! Our Prices Go DOWN everyday, not up! Saturday is our "Monday" and everything is $7.00 per item. Prices then drop to $6.00 on Sundays, drop again to $4.00 on Mondays, drop again to $2.00 on Tuesdays, and the last day, Wednesday the prices drop again to $1.00 per item. 😁😊 Then we start a "New Week" on Saturday! Hope this explanation helps for future visits with us!

This is a very good place to go on certain days I love the whole concept of the store but I also think that charging $2 more the next day for the same item that you would have bought the day before is a little bit unreasonable especially when the prices go up

They have alot of different items in store, stuff you didnt even know you needed until you came across it. But everything is too over priced to even throw it in the basket. Even with their going out of business reduced prices, that didnt even make a difference. Suprising how over priced alot of their items are. Would have filled up a cart but ended up leaving with only a few items everytime in there.

We are sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your visit at our family owned and operated store while passing through the area.  Maybe next time you are in our area you can take advantage of our sporting goods department if you are into the shooting sport or even increase your targets with our locally made steel targets. The store has decent parking and that was about it.  The store really has nothing more than used items that were purchased from a state action.  The store does have a few new items commonly found at a hardware store but are overpriced

It's good because there is a lot of good cheap stuff (furniture and misc).

It's not good because the new stuff isn't all priced the best, and the ancient, useless electronics are far-overpriced for what they are worth at this point in time.

If you love digging through bins to find deals, this is your place! I'm not that person so it didn't appeal to me at all. The store is setup so that the bins are in the middle and the perimeter has the pricer items. I didn't love the place but you can find deals if you're willing to visit often and dig!

It had it's time. For sporting goods I give them their dues. As a rental company a bit pricey on the 4 hour vs. Their 24 hr rental.

Hi! Sorry you don't get it, let us help you! All the Bin Items are $9/$7/$4 etc. depending on the Day you come by...
But we have ALWAYS (literally from day 1) had Premium Items. These items are marked with Green Tags and are 45%-75% off Original prices from Amazon/Target/Walmart. All the Premiums are Generally Brand New and have been Tested/Inspected. 😊 Your idea of "Decent Items" is very subjective! We had $80/$90 brand new shoes out there today for $15! And tons of brand new $50 /$60 items up for grabs. And 2 brand new boxes of Christmas Lights Originally $100 each sold for $9.00 each today. So just depends on what you're looking for! We also have TONS of items that we sell less than Price of the Day (50cent $1.00 items etc) they are marked with our special orange tags! Either way, we are Saving Our Customers TONS of Money!! The original concept was great at the bin store starting off at $9 dropping couple dollars every day now it looks like greed is just taking over all the decent items they jacked the price up from $9 to whatever they feel is necessary it's not even worth making a trip to come to anymore

Hi Sheila! We Wanted you to know we do offer rolling walkers with baskets for our customers who need help with walking and holding items to buy! They are right up front by our registers! And our employees are happy to help you with one when you come in! Our inventory changes every single week and we throw away any broken/opened items or items that are missing parts! Our prices are $7.00 on Saturday when everything is New and Fresh inventory, $6.00 on Sunday when there are still lots of great items left! Then a two dollar drop to Mondays when items are $4.00 because we know selection is beginning to decrease. Then another two dollar drop on Tuesdays to make all items $2.00. Then on Wednesdays everything is only $1.00!! You'd probably be surprised how many great items come through the lines on Wednesdays! As far as the repeats, sometimes in this business we recieve a lot of overstock, and overstock means CASES, if not pallets of the same exact product. We try to put a little bit of those items out each week, which is why you may have seen some repeats. We hope you consider shopping with us again now that we have offered more insight! Make sure to ask for a walker to make your shopping experience more enjoyable!

I was not impressed. Very little "nice items". Most is repeated junk and not worth 7.00? The rate is 7.00 on Saturday. Then 6.00 on Sunday . . and so forth til 1.00.
Why not 7.00 then 5.00 then 3.00 then 1.50, etc? Now wondering if the broken junk will fill up tables over a couple months? Who wants to look thru the same junk to see/find any new? Not me.
Then there is the issue of no carts. Just huge blue bags. Which you must carry. I happen to need a cart to help me walk. So this is a HUGE issue.

The place is falling apart. I used to love it used to be one of my favorite stores now everything is old overpriced they have an awesome Rent-A-Center in great place for tools and nails and stuff like that but as far as the store goes don't go there for clothes don't go there for food don't go there for anything like that, it really should probably just closes its doors if doesn't improve greatly and I hate saying that!! I really really do love that place! Oh good times, for so long!I always will so anyone who is reading this that loves hob or works there, please, I'm not hating on you guys. I hope you would improve the place, your guys roof leaks so bad everywhere in the store when it rains and there's many other improvements that need to be made I remember when Carry B. was there and man it was just amazing I know you guys can do it again come on let's Do-it!!
