If you're looking for a book, music, video games, puzzles, movies, board games, Legos, backpacks, or comics, then this is the place to be. Some new and most used, but if you're looking for a diamond in the ruff, you may find it here. They have tons of tv shows on dvds and Blu-rays. The best thing is, they don't have commercials.

We love getting "lost" in 2nd and Charles. You can find a lot of things you can't find at other stores anymore.

You just have to be careful with checking prices to make sure it's what you're willing to pay for some of the harder to get/more collectable items.

They have everything from books and media to apparel and toys. Vintage items and new items. I definitely suggest checking things over really well for condition and making sure you're happy before you buy it if it's a used item.

Aside from that, the employees are friendly and helpful, and if you can't find something they do their best to look it up and see if they have it or not.

Always a great place to shop and find unique and sought after books. Plus the trade in program is nice, even if they only give you 10% of the selling price they’re able to do. Keep an eye out for trade-ins to get more bang for your buck. And local authors can partner with them to promote their book.

I had no idea this place existed! One of my grandkids took me here. Large book selection and games, but they also have a pretty good well-organized DVD selection. I'll be back!

I like the vibe and prices of their books. Very good selection, but could be sorted out a bit better, but don't mind looking around. Huge clearance section, with books from around 2 dollars to 8. Definitely worth a visit every so often.

This place has the coolest stuff! My kids and I love going here even just to look around. You can pick out individual Lego pieces and buy them an ounce at a time and dozens of board games I never knew existed. Comics, video games, mini backpacks, stuffies, library style setup for books and Mangas. Most of the people I mention it to have never heard of this store. Great place to stop and grab a few things that you can plan a whole day around.

Literally our hobby store. We never leave empty handed. In fact, you'll find most of their merch in our wish lists for the year. Truly a collectors dream, I think. Great staff as well! My little sister loves it here too.

This place is a book/music/movie lovers dream! Books and music as far as the eye can see! They even sell albums and album players. I even saw an old school cassette player boom box, but it was “modernized. I walked out with 3 books, under $17. Can’t beat it. Only thing that could make this place better is if they had a comfy couch seating area where you could relax and ready a bit before deciding to purchase.

If you are a major book lover like I am, THIS IS THE BOOKSTORE FOR YOU! This is my favorite bookstore to come to whenever I sometimes just want to get out of the house or I need something new to read. This is conveniently located close to my home. It's a really huge store but very organized. They have all the books organized by genre and are relatively easy to locate if you are looking for something in particular. They do sell other things beside books, they sell bags, bookmarks, reading accessories and other miscellaneous things. They also sell music, guitars, bibles, and a variety of candies. You can definitely get lost there looking at every little thing they have to offer. They also have a lot of bargain books. I've scored a couple of popular titles for only $5, which is a huge score! I definitely recommend coming here if you're looking for a new book store to browse at. All the employees are super polite and extremely helpful when you ask them a question.  They are located in a shopping center right next to a petsmart, so they do offer plenty of parking spaces for you to choose from.

I FREAKING LOVE THIS PLACE!! ❤️  I don't say much about anything online, but this being my 2nd &Charles time visiting... hah hah!! It's an adult man's dream, I mean a boys dream store. Check it out for your self!

Cool second hand bookstore.  They had 2 for 1 on clearance items today and we hauled.

I wish I had a whole day to spend here. Every single time I turn around and prepare to leave, I find something else. I have been there twice, (visiting from Illinois), and spent $80 each time. Totally worth it.

Nice store with a lot of great selection. The instruments are a little over priced, but the used books are an amazing deal.

Cool store, may find stuff you've been looking for but the prices are no better than buying brand new. Also, be sure to check your stuff BEFORE leaving the store to make sure your item has all pieces! We were in town for a show and drove 4 hours back home just to open our package and realize it's missing pieces. It's not "THAT" big of a deal but for $35 and the packaging NOT mentioning items were missing, is slightly disappointing. Oh well ... Our loss. Still a cool store that you could easily spend HOURS in without realizing it 😬🤣

Variety is the word and there's plenty of it. I can't imagine walking in and leaving without gifts for friends and family. Can't say if their trade offers are fair, I was just there to kill some time.

My only complaint is their "back issue" comic book pricing is random. Some have pricing, others would need to have a quote from the front desk....  sure, go ahead and make up an arbitrary number in my face to charge me. That's kinda strange but overall it's a great store to stock up on books, games, dvds, and even legos!

There are tons of used books in excellent condition, so there is a good chance they will have something of interest. However, if you are looking for philosophy books, they are very limited at this location. There is a small section of signed books with a couple of hard-to-find authors. It is definitely worth a visit, although maybe not a special trip.

Great place for collectors of physical media. I started shopping here after I got an Xbox 360, since it was close and had a good selection of games. My experience so far has been great, though several products purchased her have been in questionable condition. Thankfully, I got full refunds on those items. As for selling things, I have only sold once. I sold a record, 3 xbox one games, 5 books, and an xbox one controller, and got $34 in store credit. The value from selling isn’t great, but it saved me the effort of selling on ebay.

I like coming here. It's very 50/50 if I find something I'm looking for or want. The bathroom is always clean which is nice. Selling here isn't something I'd do again, there's little to no money back. But overall I think it's good prices for second hand finds.

I I was little surprised when I got there. This store put South Boulevard and the one in Columbia the shame. The store may even rival the one in Augusta. When you see in my pictures,  the the place to stocked for the upcoming holidays. Of course, it offers books and dvds among novelty clothing items.  Games in both electronics and board.

I wish that I worked at 2nd & Charles. If I worked at 2nd & Charles, I would ask to be put in charge of their video media. You know: DVDs and Blurays. And once I was in charge of the DVDs and Blurays at 2nd & Charles, I would immediately make this section much easier to shop. I'd separate the DVDs from the Blurays. I'd put everything where it belongs, sorted by genre according to the signage. Then I'd put everything, DVDs and Blurays, separated from each other, and separated into genres, into alphabetical order. This way, shoppers would more easily be able to find the DVD or the Bluray that they want, in separate, neat, alphabetized sections. If I worked at 2nd & Charles, and if I was in charge of their video media, and if I set it up this way, I bet that this innovative new system would result in increased sales. My manager would be overjoyed with my performance, and promote me and give me a raise. Other managers in the chain, seeing the sales numbers from my store, would request my services, and I'd become the 2nd & Charles Video Media Aggregator (new corporate title!). I'd travel from store to store, maybe in Business Class but I won't be too greedy, and I'd use my professional separating and alphabetizing skills to improve the findability of each store's video media stock, and, in turn, increase sales at each store I visit. One day, Mister Charles shows up and watches from a short distance away as I expertly sort and alphabetize the video media stock. When he sees how searchable and findable and sellable I have made the formerly jumbled and sloppy and out-of-order video media section, he comes over to me and offers me a Vice Presidential position at corporate. My life's goals have been realized! Success! But, in the end, I turn him down. I humbly go back to my old life. I just want to shop in a store where the stock is neat and clean, separated by genre and by media, and sorted and alphabetized for easy finding. If it was like that, we'd all be able to find what we want and buy much more of it, and everyone would benefit. [RIP Manifest. *sniffle*]

*update. ...I received a call back from corporate.  He offered me 25% off and apologized. He informed me that when they were notified,  they informed all stores to honor the 20% off for that day.
If only this store manager would have bothered to call anyone, he would have been told to honor the 20% off.  I used the 25% off, but only for a $100 basket. My heart was no longer in it.  I will raise to 3 stars due to corporate and I love the Bibles I find there.

Be sure to check the date of the coupon, not the words of the text. They will not honor their misprint.  I won't be back. They have lost a very faithful customer and the thousands I spend in there a year, all because they wanted to keep the $55 that the coupon would have given me the next day.  Text coupon said TODAY ONLY, coupon link had the date for the next day.  But I was to blame for not opening the coupon before going to the store.
$561 worth of books in my cart (before tax) with a 20% off coupon. They wouldn't honor THEIR incorrect text message. Some guy said he would give me 10% off, or come back tomorrow.  I spent 2 hours shopping,  I was not coming back and spending my time and gas to do it all over again 12 hours later. Even if they just put the cart to the side for me to purchase it the next morning, what would be the difference in honoring the coupon now? I have never had a store not honor their own mistake. The 10% difference amounted to a grand total of $55. They have lost thousands to save $55.  I have religious spent $400-$500 every 2-3 months, but hey....they saved $55.
I am still sad at all the great books I had to walk away from, but I can't support bad business practices.

Definitely could have been better. It's been a while since I've been in this particular location, but stuff has been moved around a lot from the way it was setup before. Which that in & of itself is fine. I know stores try to change things sometimes for flow and etc. but perfect example the Comic books section was very organized before whereas now. You might have a section of a box marked for 1 type or brand of comic and instead of finding a bunch of that comic you might find 1 or 2 in that section along with 50 other comics mixed about. No rhyme or reason. Store cleanliness was fine , plenty of parking to go around.

Found a lot of my favorite books here! Tons of stuff for reasonable prices. If you’re looking to sell books though, and if your goal is to make money, you should check out some other places. They’ll take what you have though if you’re just looking to get rid of stuff and want it to go to good use. I dropped off over 50 books, all good condition, over 1/3 hardcover, and got $19.10. If I wasn’t moving and pressed for time, never would’ve taken it.

Great place to sell any stolen collectibles, books, records, etc as they don’t have unique serial #s on them. Even tho they track all purchase transactions, having a police report siting a name as well as a short list of specific and rare items that happen to be located next to each other on their shelves this is not enough for them to crosscheck their records for the name any further. They also tell the police that a faceless/nameless/contactless Loss Prevention department would have to contact them to look into it do any further. This type of situation with stolen goods is always difficult to prove and get sorted however their effort to help was surprisingly absent.  Very disappointing and shady considering how expensive they price everything and try to have an “upscale” feel to their business.

If you're planning on selling your stuff here, Just don't. $13.25 in cash or $15 with some change for store credit was the total outcome for 10 Items that you see in the picture lmao. That one star is for the employees that work there. They are very kind and helpful.

Staff was no help in finding book sections, did not want to come to the counter i was standing at instead I had to speak louder for him to hear.

This is purely on the service. I called to ask about teacher editions I wanted to sell or donate. The gentleman who answered said they did take the teacher editions. I went in and he saw me carrying the books, they were quite heavy. He told me to put them in the white bin which I did and he watched as I did. He then looked and told me to carry them over to another section. At no point did this man tell me they dont take spiral books. He is watching me, i called beforehand, never did he mention this. He waited until I was carrying these around. Just felt like it was lack of consideration ansd just lazyness on his behalf. If you see someome struggling and you know you arent raking specific type of things. Say something. Then a lady in the back give him a thumbs up. I dont think he did a good job.

I know they won't give much... but $1.39 for 8 books & 4 dvds?? They try to say that's 10% of what they sell it for however after checking out prices, they would NOT only be getting $11.39 for all that.  Def feel lied to.

God awful store. Do not EVER come here to sell your stuff unless you're desperate to get rid of it. I brought in 11 books in perfect condition, some even still in the wrapping, and 1 being a pretty large book. They offered me 4 dollars in cash or 8 dollars in store credit. That is around 38 cents per book that's absolutely ridiculous, especially when they charge full price for books in store, sometimes even more. And aside from my awful selling experience, the store itself is just not a good store. There is so much junk which you absolutely can find significantly cheaper online, and even the non-junk products, like stuffed animals, notebooks, games, records/cds are so overpriced. If you want to buy anything from this store, you are significantly better off just looking online, you will save so much money and won't have the misfortune of walking around this store, as it was incredibly disorganized and messy. If you love books, games, toys, comics, anything, you are better going to literally any other store.

Do not sell your books to them! They offer you penny's for them. I took 20 or so books in mostly hard cover good condition, and was offered 7.00 for them. I know when they sell them they will put a price tag on them that's about 5.00- 10.00 less than the new price . ( I can say this with confidence as I saw The Complete Tales and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe ( barnes and noble limited addition ) for 24.00 when here, when you can get it brand new for 30.00. Do yourself a favor and sell your books on marketplace or somewhere else.

Took in one full bin of books to see what they would offer. Can’t get a $ right away. Here’s your ticket and we will text you with the values. No text. Week later I call them. Only $10 cash or $20 store credit.  Went back today to PU my books that were worth far more than $10 and I am told they decided I would get the store credit. So they basically stole my books and tell me I can have store credit! What kind of scam is this company running? I would have donated them to the library rather the the store so they can sell them for a big profit.
I will never do business there again.

This place is a ripoff...I took 17 books and they wanted to gave me back 2 books. All were hardcover. Most were Harlan Coben books who is the hottest thing on Netflix right now....they offered me 1.50 cash or 2.50 store credit total...all good but when I was going to send my husband to pick ALL 17 books up to donate somewhere else I was told via the phone my husband could not pick them up EVEN with my drivers license!! I work full time and we are senior citizens..My husband and I both have the same address on drivers license...I had to go during my lunch hour plus that it was a NC Pawn shop law !!! Pawn shops give you money when you leave the store for an item...I had to wait 48 hours to get a dollar amount from them..Way too rigid...My husband wanted to go anyway and then call the police to get OUR property back. I was also told he could not be added to my existing account and he would need his own account which solves nothing..Books are bought and sold under the one name per account. .Never will I go back there for sure...This is a really bad way to do business....NEVER AGAIN.....

First of all I dropped off over 80 DVDs takes 3 days to get back to me then they tell me $23 and change credit or less than $10 cash and they kept all the DVDs and I have more DVDs I was going to bring up there it's better to sell them on eBay or a pawn shop. So my dvds are roughly a quarter a piece God I miss manifest records plan on contacting the general manager see if they can do better because this is bogus this might be the last time I bring anything up there i wouldn't put the review up here if the offer was better but its not worth the 15 mile drive the GM wouldn't change the offer. You can get more money for your stuff elsewhere

It might be a great place to buy things but it's not a great place to sell items. It's quite the disappointment. I took 77 dvd movies in and they kept 74. My cash offer was a whopping $5.25. I won't be taking anything back there. It is quite the rip off in my opinion.

Waste of time to take books here. Don’t bother. Box full of the same books they sell for $5 each there (about $100 worth in nice condition) and they accepted them but only wanted to give me like $3 for the ENTIRE box. It was astonishing and insulting. I spent more in gas driving them over there. Their prices on their used books isn’t terrible but I won’t support this place after experiencing how unfairly they treat and take advantage of people bringing them things to sell. They also mix the new retail books they sell for full price,  in with their used books so browsing can be somewhat frustrating.

this is a good store, but it has a big problem and that is the trading/selling center. I went to trade-in/sell 13 books with 2 new Nintendo switch games. The books each cost me around $8 to $13 and the games were $30-$50. I waited more or less five hours for them to text me back and finally when they texted me back and they offered me 1 dollar per book and less than 2 dollars per game. Not worth it, I suggest you sell/trade your stuff somewhere that they will appreciate the value.
