Sam’s knowledge of furniture is unbelievable. He gives extremely fair pricing buying, and selling mid century modern furniture. He specializes in Italian, Danish, and Scandinavian furniture. Every time I’m in his shop I learn so much!

Sam is an amazingly knowledgeable scan modern expert. He’s a lovely person that will help you find everything and anything you can imagine for your collection.

Exquisite collection and beautiful shop. Each item here is a singular work of art. The owner, Sam, is incredibly passionate about design, with extensive knowledge and gift for gathering rare one of a kind pieces. He call tell you the story behind each piece, not just as trivia, but in a way that makes you see its unique value and appeal. Sam cares about cultivating lasting relationships with his clients. The Kofod Larsen rocking chair and Don Shoemaker glider I bought from him are some of my most loved possessions.

This is a wonderful shop with gorgeous furniture. Sam is incredibly knowledgable and we thoroughly enjoyed talking with him and learning about his pieces. In addition, he was incredibly generous about sharing his knowledge concerning caring for and cleaning wood in general (yes, orange oil is truly remarkable!). We’re waiting for the day that Sam hosts a salon, where learned folks share their wisdom about furniture, philosophy, and life in general amid this comfortable, cozy setting!

We've shopped in Lambertville many times, and know most of the antique stores. This shop has it all. Lovely pieces, helpful and friendly proprietor. We'll soon need a few pieces appraised and we'll definitely trust Sam to do it, as he really knows his stuff. We'll be back soon!

One glance into Form and Matter Modern's shop windows and you will be hooked. Sam Floyd keeps his store pristine and from the start, it is clear this man loves what he does. Sam lights up while answering questions and enjoys getting to know his customers. He is an expert on mid-century wood furnishings and his restorations are to die for. All of that, and his prices are reasonable! My husband and I have been looking for the perfect dining room table for years and the moment we walked into Form and Matter and met Sam, we knew we would be buying here. We found a gorgeous Niels Moller table. The rosewood gleams in our dining room! Sam even offers to go the extra mile to hand deliver his pieces and carefully explains how to care for them. Next up, chairs. We will only trust Sam to find them for us.
