About This Store

Beacon's Closet Park Slope is a vintage clothing store located in Brooklyn, New York. It has received positive reviews from customers who have had the opportunity to both sell and shop at this location.

According to the reviews, Beacon's Closet Park Slope is known for its well-curated selection of vintage and designer pieces, as well as more modern brand-name clothing. As one reviewer noted, "You can literally find brand new items for more than 70% off. Not to mention, this is NYC so I don't really expect Goodwill prices." Another customer praised the "great clothing options here from vintage to high end to more modern stuff."

The store's buying process has received mixed reviews, with some customers appreciating the transparency and fairness of the staff, while others have found the experience more challenging. As one seller shared, "They give 50% retail price for in store credit and 30% for cash. I love the transparency and the kind people working there." However, another reviewer acknowledged that "Whenever you choose to sell at one of these call ahead and ask many detailed questions... Keep in mind these shops price item's very affordably to make it accessible for the general public."

Despite the varying opinions on the buying process, customers consistently praise the store's friendly and welcoming staff. As one shopper recounted, "the staff were so lovely here! i had an altercation with another guest and the staff were so nice to walk me to my own station out of comfort and safety." Another reviewer noted that the "person at the door that held the door open while I dragged out my giant luggage and offered my dog a treat" made for a pleasant shopping experience.

While the store's layout has been described as "strange" and "clunky" by one customer, the overall consensus is that Beacon's Closet Park Slope offers a unique and enjoyable vintage shopping experience in the heart of Brooklyn.

Best beacons closet. Everyone complaining about not being able to sell here needs to get over it. This location is good because they don’t buy everyone’s cheap clothing.

I haven't shopped in-store in very very long, but their online shop is great! I've ordered a few times in the past year or so and have always been pleased with my purchases. Just like in-store there are some good deals on vintage and designer pieces, and they ship everywhere which is a huge plus for me.

My personal experience was great! The employees were nice and welcoming really sweet person at the door that held the door open while I dragged out my giant luggage and offered my dog a treat. This place seems to have really awful reviews regarding the buying process. I work in this industry for myself but I also was a buyer for other companies with similar models to Beacon's people need to understand there willing to buy your stuff you no longer want that you most likely would've just given away. Every job as a buyer requires you to study not only the mainstream fashion markets current trends but you must also look to street style and the neighborhood your business is located in demographics. Who are your customers? What are they buying? Looking for? This requires alot of skills of observation constantly. Whenever they buy a piece they have to think do I have a customer for this in mind especially when taking risks on styles. So with that said this store definitely has an appreciation for vintage pieces which is reflected in the neighborhood if you have older unique vintage meaning 80s or older in good condition your odds are high of selling. Good variety with sizes is always helpful. They also shop for current trends so you as will see modern brand's as well as the vintage fashion that is trending now which is Y2k and 90s fashion. Whenever you choose to sell at one of these call ahead and ask many detailed questions like I did about there current inventory for example if they have too much of anything or are looking to stock more sections. Also shop around there store before hand see what they have in stock to give you in idea of the type of merchandise they may buy also there pricing. Keep in mind these shops price item's very affordably to make it accessible for the general public which is awesome. Everyone should have access to quality pieces regardless of personal finances so with thay in mind you will not be getting a ton of money per item think of it has you're selling your goods to a retailer at wholesale cost you being the wholesaler you get about 35% in cash or 50-55% in store credit I believe of whatever they pirce each individual item for . So it's definitely not much but I feel the key is to bring a lot so you sell in bulk and get a decent amount back which is what I did and it was a great outcome for me. So keep that in mind you're getting back wholesale prices if you sell in bulk and your inventory is accepted you will get a decent amount. If you have item's you spent hundreds of dollars on per piece and are looking to get return investment back this isn't for you. Sell that online or go to a consignment shop but if you have things you have had for a while in good clean condition just sitting around that you really just want to get rid off this is a good option but as always consider all these factors and call ahead ask questions. I found over the phone at this location they were also very helpful 👍

I have sold clothes here a couple of times. They give 50% retail price for in store credit and 30% for cash. I love the transparency and the kind people working there. Shopping here is also great! They have some great clothing options here from vintage to high end to more modern stuff.

Went yesterday and was pleasantly surprised with how cute this store is and what good finds! For those saying it’s expensive, you can literally find brand new items for more than 70% off. Not to mention, this is NYC so I don’t really expect goodwill prices. I found fur lined coats for $30, winter adidas pants $15, a cute coin purse $5, new Zara pants and excellent Levi jeans $15. That is pretty decently priced..They have new stuff everyday too.✨

Small store, but definitely a well-curated thrift experience. Know what you're coming for. You won't find deals as cheap as thrift stores like Goodwill, but it's a more fashionable selection of clothes so you'll save time digging!

Initially discouraged from selling here after reading negative reviews, but gave it a chance and was pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly and squeezed me on busy night of both buying and selling. I appreciated them listing out all the items they bought when I picked up, felt things were fairly priced, and found a great dress to get on credit! My only note from a shopping standpoint is the layout is strange: it creates a clunky flow of people. The low level racks are awkward to look through, and I always wish there was more quantity.

This is my fave Beacon's location, and although they are more pricey in comparison to other shops nearby, I know I'll always find something fun and quality here. I can never try on their sunglasses without buying another pair.

I visited this location for the first time today. The store was not too crowded, which was nice. After some indecision, I ended up purchasing an item that I really liked but for the fact that it was missing two key buttons. I’m disappointed that the staff did not agree to lower the price after I pointed out this defect. Additionally, they said that sewing on buttons would be easy for me to do but that they could not because they were busy. However, the staff at the back counter were just standing around waiting to purchase items. Overall, this store has some nice pieces, but the staff are rigid and unhelpful. They should act warmer towards customers trying to buy items.
