This place is da bomb dot com! I went a few weeks ago arrived not too far from closing time and the gals were so friendly and helpful. I got some cute goodies for my mom and me for the holidays. Looking forward to a return trip!

A very very clean and organized consignment shop - probably the cleanest and most organized of any I've been in.  The employee working was pleasant also.

I have literally been going to Polkadots for over 10 years, since back when they had a smaller shop in Guilderland.

Polkadots is a great place to save money on clothes, toys, and more.  I started out buying baby clothes, toys, and gear, and saved tons of money because the kids outgrew the items so fast.  Now I shop mostly for clothes, books, and shoes.

The items are all very nice quality - you won't find clothes that are pilled, stained, etc. and the brands are higher quality brands.

The store also buys items for either consignment or through a fast cash program (where you get cash for your items).  They also have an option where they will donate whatever you don't want (which is so convenient!).

The store is always clean and well organized.  There is a little toy produce stand for little ones to play with, and a nice bathroom with changing table.  I shop here regularly and also bring lots of items to sell (many of which I purchased here).

I always find great items for myself or my son, and have wracked up a lot of credit through consigning.

It has children's clothing, adult and children footwear, accessories, and adult clothing. It has beautiful adult dresses and children and baby CD's.

Polkadots is my go-to place. They have a ton of current brand name, previously worn clothing and accessories in AMAZING condition. It's set up like a boutique so everything is sized appropriately which makes it easy to shop. There's a shoe section, books and home decor, jewelry, and higher end items all very easy to find. Every day they have sales: 50% and down. I spend 1/4 less at Polkadots than I would at Colonie/Crossgates etc., but get the same quality products and way friendlier service.

I love shopping at PolkaDots. They have quality fashion clothing for all ages, jewelry, shoes, books, toys, furniture, home accessories and much, much more!  I only wish they were open later during the week like a Friday night until 8pm!

Very nice store. Very good way of shopping for the whole family.  Great way to stretch your clothing dollars. Everything A plus.

Very nice, have lots of name brand clothes in good shape for baby and mom. Also have lots of other necessities for baby. Employees are helpful and friendly also, will go back for sure.

It's a quaint shop.  Some of the things are reasonable and others not so much.  The door wasn't easily found, it's the same main door for the nail salon and then it has a different entrance.

They have trendy clothing among other things that they sell there. Prices are reasonable. Clean and well organized place to shop. The employees were friendly.

I Am a MAJOR fan of second hand items and finds, this store wasn't short of that at all but had a bit too much of an attempt at a boutique rather then a thrift store. excellent and odd selection, strange and impersonal retail store feel.

When I first found out about this place a year or so ago, it was amazing! The past few times, the inventory wasn't that great & a little over priced. I hope they can add some more really great & versatile pieces.

Hi Theresa!  We do in fact have plus size ladies clothing in here. We do not have it separated out into separate sections, instead we size on the racks xs - 2x. We are at the mercy of what people bring in to sell to us, so often we do not have as much plus size to offer as we do other sizes. We hope you come back again to see us soon!  :-)

What is the deal with the staff here! They never warm or welcoming and dont make conversation when cashing you out.  The items appear to be overpriced.

We do require the steps found on there be followed prior to coming in so that you can make the most money, and also so you aren't wasting your time bringing in things we aren't going to be interested in. We have never accepted clothes in bags, we have always required them to be pre-sorted and in clean bins/boxes/laundry hamper. When we suggested you go to Pl@to's, you'd shared that you'd already been there. If they weren't going to take the men's items you had, then we wouldn't have either because they specialize in men's and we don't take hardly any men's clothing. Again, we apologize for your inconvenience. We strive to make things streamlined so that we don't waste anyone's time.

Waisted my time, called and ask if they buy used clothes and they said yes. Then when I arrived in store the women told me I would have needed to process it online before coming and had it wrapped a specific way. I said ok well you never said that to me on the phone and then she acted like I was a problem. Like she had me come down here just to tell me to go away all because she didn't do her job properly

Cat, that sounds horrible! We have never, in our 17 years of being open, ever had anyone share that they’ve ever had any type of bug go home with them from any product we have sold. We are extremely conscious of cleanliness and odors when we take merchandise in on consignment and that we purchase from the community. We would love to help you out with how you feel about your transaction and interaction at Polkadots. We have no way of knowing where you may have picked up the bug from. It could have gotten on your item anywhere between our store and when you got home. If you have a picture to share, we’d love to see it! Thank you for reaching out.

Buyer Beware, their items have BED BUGS !!!! Came home with a blouse from here only to find a bed bug clear as day on the center of it. Luckily I got rid of it immediately. Gross

PolkaDots would never knowingly take in or sell stolen merchandise. This person leaving this review is the friend of the person who is making claims. They have some unfortunate personal stuff going on and long story short, is unwilling to work with authorities as we have requested to get involved due to threats being made. We are more than happy to work with the  Guilderland police and this person in regards to what they are claiming. 

You should be a shame of yourselves to not reveal who sold your store a piece of stolen merchandise- Michael Korrs black Jacket that belongs to someone I know whether they produce a receipt or not their still a victim, it shows how Unprofessional you are as a business/owner by not helping someone who is clearly a Victim, I will now never recommend your store to anyone because your all about the money but when someone claims their stolen property you wanna act differently!

Hi Jessica! I’m so sorry you ran into problems today. On our website, we have three places to choose from as to how to bring things in. One is “drop and donate”, one is “Walk in Wednesday”, and one is “book an appointment”. Where you see “walk in Wednesday”, you will also see that it’s noted that we do not host them every week. There’s a spot to click and be able to see the dates for each week that we are hosting them that month. It has been noted since the end of last month that we would not be hosting a walk in Wednesday today. The staff member that helped you is new & still training. She had not looked at the dates on the website to see that there was not one being held today, and her being new & still learning the ropes did not communicate thoroughly that it made no difference if I was there working today or not. I completely understand that time is precious, which is one of the many reasons why we do things the way that we do, so as to not waste people’s time. Our shop allows people to bring in more items per appointment or drop off than any other shop in the area for just that reason. We do hope you will come back and see us again, after reviewing the website to see when a day and time will work for you, or to come in to shop. Very frustrated. They advertise “walk-in Wednesdays” where you don’t need to make an appointment to have the owner take your clothes for cash. I read their website thoroughly and followed all of their instructions on cleaning, folding, and boxing the clothes exactly how they wanted. It took me a couple of days to prepare all this. I live far away and it took me a MONTH to get a baby sitter for today so I could get this errand done (I have a new baby and not many options for baby sitting) … I get there with my stuff and the employee sees me and says “Oh, I’m sorry she’s not here today for walk-in Wednesdays” no other explanation. I asked how I could know for next time and she said she just found out today as well and that the owner posted it on the website. I looked on the website, facebook and instagram and it wasn’t indicated anywhere that she wouldn’t be here today. I’m so upset because as a new mom it is nearly impossible for me to get things like this done. I have no idea when I can try to get back here so I essentially wasted not just today but multiple days putting everything together just for them to not be here. At this point I don’t even want to give them my business because it just shows a lack of respect for people’s time. As a Christian I was hoping to give a fellow Christian my business but this just left a bad taste in my mouth. Also, as a business owner myself, do better.

tried to reach today Nov 2nd, 2018 and left VM. Tried to reach again. No one lifts the phone. They didn't call me back. Not sure if they  check VM's.

Awful experience here! I brought some clothes & shoes here. The lady was very rude to me because I didn't go on their website & read the details on what to do. She then told me it would take a couple weeks & someone would contact me when they have reviewed my stuff. I went in to collect my money & nearly fell to the floor when she handed me $20. I had shoes in there that cost three times that. I wouldn't recommend bringing anything there!!
