Buyer beware!!! This site is very sketchy! I have these two pelicans that I got at Hobby Lobby for probably around $20 each. One of them broke, and so I did a reverse image search to see if I could find a replacement. After searching my image, this site pops up with my exact pelican, listed as a "hand painted and carved sculpture" for over $300! For the record, it looks like wood, but it's actually made of plastic, which is why it broke. I looked through a few of the other items, and sure enough, many of the products on this site are inexpensive items purchased from larger stores, falsely advertised, and considerably marked-up in price. *Edited to add: The company has responded, "Christina, after reviewing Hobbylobby's inventory and our own inventory, it appears that what you purchased from Hobby Lobby was an inexpensive reproduction of what we offer." This product is no longer listed anywhere on Hobby Lobby's website, so there would have been NO WAY to check that. I know, because I checked extensively before posting this review. Newell's response is dishonest, and further highlights their shady business practices. I hope this review helps someone save their hard-earned money from whoever is running this deceptive business.
Christina, after reviewing Hobbylobby's inventory and our own inventory, it appears that what you purchased from Hobby Lobby was an inexpensive reproduction of what we offer. Newel, since 1939, has offered quality furniture and decor, and our appraisers ensure the authenticity of our inventory, and we 100% stand by our pricing. Please feel free to contact us at info@newel.com and provide pictures of what you purchased from Hobby Lobby. We are happy to back up our inventory with detailed photos to ensure that what is advertised is exactly what you get. The item you saw on our website (link below) is what you found and is exactly as advertised. https://www.newel.com/product/Contemporary-Hand-Painted-Sculpture-of-a-Pelican Please also rest assured that Newel has no affiliation with Hobby Lobby or their merchandise. I hope this response was helpful. Please let us know if we can help you find a quality version of what you were initially looking for on Newel.com. Best Regards, Newel Support
