Didn't show up for a scheduled and confirmed appointment. Not even the courtesy of a call at the end of the business day. Took her a week and a half to contact me with an explanation and an apology. Excuse was lame, at best. Very unprofessional. Is this how you treat your clients and their valuable possessions?

Lawrence (or Larry) is a thief. Christine isn't any better. Lawrence had agreed to do a job for my mom at her apartment. She wanted some beige window swags for her windows in the bedroom and over the hallway entrance. He had done a previous job for her in the living room, and it came out great. So we thought that he should do the bedroom, once it was ready. At the time, the room was in repair, and needed a paint job and floor tile replacement. After he took measurements for us earlier in the year, he came to meet up with us in Rockaway Park (Queens),where we live, on July 28th 2023. He picked up $2000 out of $4500 for a deposit in cash, and gave us a receipt, and we agreed that the rest would be given on the delivery date for the swags. The job he was supposed to do was to be delivered by Labor Day of 2023, at the latest. Instead, it has been a nightmare. Between 2023 and 2024, after many attempts to reach him by phone (which he never picked up and never returned our calls), calling up the showroom in Manhattan and the office in Oakland Gardens (Queens) to know of his whereabouts, going to the Queens office a couple of times with my mom and speaking with their young office assistant, speaking with Christine over the phone in February of 2024, who reassured my mom that they didn't have anyone to do the job for quite some time, but they would get to it eventually. We're in March of 2025 now (less than a month away from Easter), we still haven't gotten a phone call, no fabric, and no swags. We got tired of calling, and life got in the way, so time elapsed. I can speak for myself, and honestly say that I don't care much for swags or any household interior decorating, but my mom trusted these people to do a good job the second time around. But they took advantage of her and her patience. Normally, we like to settle things nicely and quietly, and we don't like to get dirty and argue. But waking up this morning and looking at the swags in the living room triggered something in me.This is unacceptable! Either they get the job done with a discount, or my mom gets her money back with interest! It's been almost two years! I don't want to imply why they did this, but we're black and my parents are immigrants from Haiti, so maybe we're not what their regular clientele looks like. We're not rich or wealthy, but we're just regular working class folks trying to have some nice things, but not necessarily luxurious items. Anyway, I wanted to expose them for what they have done. It's embarrassing and shameful. If they don't reach out, we're considering legal action.
