Eric is a true craftsman who takes pride in the work. He did a fabulous job refinishing and repairing a vintage desk as if it were his own. Great that shops like Tarrytown Woodworks still exist in this disposable world.

Worked with them a few years ago to get an antique piece of furniture modified. They did an amazing job and my wife and I couldn't be happier with it. Can easily recommend and will be coming back should we need similar work in the future.

So refreshing to work with someone who simply quotes a price, spends as much time as needed with you as a customer to feel informed, and then does exactly what he says he’ll do. Eric explained the options and minor risks involved and provided his expert opinion/advice. He called a week later once our chair was repaired and it looked even better than I had imagined. The repaired arm is now structurally sound, feels smooth and looks great. Would HIGHLY recommend Eric and Tarrytown Woodworks! Thank you!

I shared this because Eric has done work for me I. The past and did an excellent job repairing a couple of chairs and reinforcing the frame that holds the glass in my 100+ yr old curio. A great woodworker.

Eric is a gem. This is not a company. It's a studio run by a man who loves furniture and where it comes from.

This is the best and only wood working shop around in Westchester County. Eric will take care of any repairs that are needed for your antique furniture. He's the only one I would trust with high valued pieces. This shop is worth its weight in gold!
Thank you for the review, Richard. We are a nearly extinct breed, we restoration craftsman, so I really appreciate the feedback. Best-

At first, I was disappointed when Eric explained that he would be unable to fully restore and refinish my Mom's antique tea car. He explained that to do so properly, would be a very detailed project that requires special equipment which he doesn't have and is also a hazardous project. He said that at best he could restore the piece to about 70% pristine. Well, I decided to put my faith into Eric and I certainly have no regrets whatsoever. The end result was very suprising. Although he did not completely refinish it. He did amazing structural repair work. I mean the cart was literally falling apart when I arrived. In addition he cleaned it up and touched up the finish. In my opinion the cart is at 85% pristine, not the 70% which he prepared me to expect, highly recommended.
Harold, thank you for your thoughtful review. It was a pleasure.

We have a beautiful old mahogany bureau that has been in the family for several generations. In a move from another state, all four legs were broken off. It looked awful and its state seemed dire. No longer! It took a little over a week to repair. One would never know that anything had happened. I feel confident that it is stronger than ever and, as important, it is as beautiful as ever!
Thanks for trusting me to restore your heirloom!

Eric Clingen is a real craftsman who knows his stuff. He's honest, too. When I showed him a piece, he told me there was less than a 50% chance of restoring, rather than just taking my money. He's also a really nice person, which is important to me.
I really appreciate it, Irene!
