Today was my first visit to Grasshoppers Comics and was pleasantly welcomed by John as soon as I entered the store. The store was neatly organized with Current/back issues, Trades, Hardcovers, Children level comics and so much more. You can spend all day looking through this store. I can not express enough how organized and neat this store was. Everything and anything was easy to find. Books were in alphabetical order. He also had complete comic run bundles in long boxes which was pleasant to see and eliminates having to search for singles one by one. Greatly recommend this store for all your comic book needs.

Nice clean bright space, friendly masked staff, solid selection of comics (current, back issues, and graphic novels), board games, and the Star Wars minis game. RPG selection is limited to just D&D.

This is my favorite comic shop on Long Island. I have had my pull list here for about 7 years now and have always had great experiences and service from those running the shop during that time.  The staff are super nice and extremely knowledgeable to help you with any questions. They have a great selection of current books, back issues, and even a small area of board games. On top of all that the owner puts on events, signings, and charity raffles frequently.

their main thing seems to be the trades, and after years and years of shopping at midtown comics in Manhattan, they have have a very nice selection almost comparable! which is not something most shops do on li, with the indies and all!😉

Grasshoppers Comics is top notch. Prices are very reasonable and selections are diverse and varied. In stocks always full. Store itself is super clean and organized which makes for a positive shopping experience. Staff and management always super courteous, knowledgeable and welcoming. I take my kids here all the time and we never leave disappointed. Five Star rating is well earned and deserved.

I go there more for board games than comics, and they always have a great selection.  The staff is amazing, friendly and knowledgeable.  My favorite hobby store on Long Island.

He's in the process of putting together a COVID friendly fundraiser, changing everything he's been doing annually for over a decade, to make sure everyone is safe.  All the money goes to The John Thieissen Children's Foundation.

Great place to get your comic book needs! You can easily set up a pull list and they will set aside any comic books you want. They also have a huge assortment of trade paperbacks and back issues. You can also find board games here.

Grasshopper is all the best parts of a small business.  It is common to walk in and have staff address you by name and remember your preferences.  They  are genuine fans who love to spend time talking about characters and story lines.  If you want to test this, talk to them about the most useless characters.  I drive past other stores to go to Grasshopper and it's worth every mile.

Staff is super friendly and approachable. Vast back issue collection full of comic book gems. It’s certainly one stop store and I can’t get enough.

Legit the best comicbook store ever! Owner os super friendly (whats up John) his family is all friendly. Ive been coming here since i was a kid and just brought my son here for his first outing. Love it love it love it . I moved 45 mins from here now and i still come to get my comics. That says alot!

This place has been around since I was a kid and is still going strong. A local place that has something for every comic fan, and if they don't have what you're looking for you can be sure they will try to find it. Can't say enough about this place. I have been going to Grasshopper’s for over 5 years. I go there because of the excellent, personal service. I go there because of Dan and John and their attention to my nerdy obsessions.  It’s really the greatest place on earth for comics, games and graphic novels. If you’re a fan of comics, there is no better place to be.

Best comic store in Nassau county. The owners are knowledgeable fans themselves and the best place to find back issues. They are constantly adding to their back issues and they keep them at a reasonable price so that collectors at every level can afford to buy them. Highly recommend them to any true comic fan.

They will hold Issues for you for a bit & The Store itself is Cool & Full of New as well as Silver & Golden Age Comic Books & Figurines & those Board RPG'S that so many people like & youre allowed to play those games there with your friends! It has been there since I was a little kid & it's a landmark to the Literary Imaginative & Artists!

Love and hate relationship - but only because I'll be spending LOTS of money here. Love it because it has great comics/books for my son who is an avid reader - and this place is right next to his martial arts school so we are basically forced to stop by here after almost each class. The sales clerk (or is he the owner?) is soooooooo nice. He helped us pick out a great book last time - Bones - huge book made of 9 tomes that my son finished within 2-3 days and will probably read over and over many times. this is one of those old school comic stores that we should all cross our fingers for it to stay open forever.

One of my favorite comic shops in LI. They have an amazing selection and almost always have the Image titles I'm looking for. Also they have an excellent back issues. Plenty to choose from here.

Great selection of both trade prints and individual issues. Back-issue selection is pretty varied. Employees at front desk are always helpful to those, who are new to comics, and those, who have been reading for a while. The atmosphere is pleasant.

One of the best stores i've ever seen! It seems hidden among all the other stores around it, but one step into Grasshopper Comics and one will become entranced by their wide selection of comics and games. I was looking for trades, and their expansive selection overwhelmed me greatly! This shop by far is greater than anything that we have in Toronto. And the staff that was working there gave a great impression and feel of his establishment and was very knowledgeable and kind. Will be coming back whenever I travel down to New York!

I was here because of the annual Free comics day. Staff are nice and direct us to the free section immediately. Books are very organized and some are labeled with different promotion going on. They have staff dress up as Star war characters for us to take picture with. I did not buy anything besides taking the free comics with me, staff did not give me any hard time nor pressure, smiling till the end. I might stop by later to pick something for my Trekkie husband .

I use to think this was a freindly neighborhood place to shop, boy was I wrong.. People should learn to treat others equal, no matter how young you may look.. Just because someone looks young doesn't mean they don't have money to purchase things. Btw you never know, I mite be older then you.
