BUYER BEWARE: DO NOT SHOP HERE! I had purchased a six place setting dragon tea set in October for $187.00. When I got home I noticed that unfortunately one of the saucers was missing. I called the shop to see if it was there because two people were hastily packing the tea set and I thought it might have been misplaced during the packing process. I spoke to the shop owner’s elderly mother who said nothing like this had ever happened before and she found it “disturbing” and the man who sold me the set was “a pastor and a good man and she knew he gave me everything”. She said the saucer wasn’t there and “I don’t know what to tell you, maybe look online”. She NEVER APOLOGIZED or offered a solution all she did was infer I was lying. When I called all I hoped was the missing saucer was there, I did not ask for a refund but I did say to her when no solution was offered that I saw a 16 piece incomplete set at Park Ave Marketplace for $35. I asked if would she be able to buy a saucer from them ($2.18 purchase) and ship it to me. After many phone calls back and forth to the shop (they called me with questions and always left voicemails right before the shop would close) the shop owner’s mother told me no they would not purchase the saucer. She did leave me one final voicemail that said we won’t purchase the tea set or saucer but Dave (shop owner) said he would give you a $25 store credit, “hopefully a $25 store credit is sufficient for you and again I find this whole situation disturbing”. I called back and had to leave a voicemail asking for the shop owner to call me, I wanted to thank him for the store credit and also learn how I could obtain it. That was one month ago and I still have not received a call back which tells me the shop was NEVER going to give me a store credit. I called Park Ave explained the situation and they apologized for the situation (something the Wish List never did), gave me a 20% discount, and a free Shakespeare book from 1847 because they felt so badly about my experience. This whole situation with The Wish List is ashame because they do have a unique selection of beautiful antiques, but to use Bert’s favorite word I find their lack of care and lack of customer service disturbing. I also find it disturbing that Dave (the shop owner) would have his elderly mother handle a customer service issue instead of calling the customer himself. I did however take Bert’s advice and I did look online and saw the same tea set for $60 dollars cheaper and the set online was for 8 people not 6 like I purchased. So in addition to their poor customer service their prices are apparently steep as well. On this Small Business Saturday shop at Park Ave Marketplace, a business who appreciates your business and makes people feel valued. DO NOT SHOP AT THE WISH LIST.
