Cool place. Gerat staff. To me, the prices seem to be about average. I think a lot of times people fail to realize that they are buying local history. Which once its gone, it's gone. Not being from here, I still see the value in that. Hope that makes sense.

Owner Response

Mike, that makes sense to US! Thanks for visiting our store and for your support of our small business. In addition to paying for salvage and salvage rites, the equipment and labor to remove, transport, clean, process, photograph, list online, and present salvage in a clean, organized environment with knowledgable staff for the convenience of our customers and community has costs that are not often considered. I take this as a complement that implies we "make it look easy". These are one-of-a-kind hand crafted pieces with a level of quality and longevity that would otherwise not be available or would not be affordable for the average homeowner. Unfortunately, we don't all agree on what is valuable, but there is a distinct difference between cost and value. You may not value something enough to pay the asking price but that doesn't make it over-priced. We are not offended by these remarks beause we know our market better (nationally and internationally) and strive to keep our inventory affordable. While we welcome folks to simply walk through and appreciate the history here, we want nothing more than to find homes for all the reusable materials we can. We love our customers because we couldn't do this without them!

treasure trove, so much fun. I also really appreciate that they have everything inventory online with sizes and details so that you can check ahead and see if they have what you need. They’re extremely friendly in there and have tape measures at the ready for you. It’s just really fun to walk around and see old interesting goodies, and also useful for an old house!

Owner Response

Hi Virginia, Thank you for visiting our store! And for going above and beyond by leaving such a nice review! We work really hard to continually add new items to our inventory and website, but feedback like yours makes it all worth it. Happy New Year! Molly Sauer - Columbus Architectural Salvage

I have bought items from them a couple of times in restoring our Victorian home. Most recently, a very nicely facilitated purchase of window hardware off their website with precise measurements taken to ensure a perfect fit. They also threw in the screws necessary for installation of these vintage pieces. Above and beyond - thank you Alyson and team!

Owner Response

Benjamin Frederick, thank you for your kind review! We could not be happier you found hardware for your historic home on our website. Please keep us in mind for any future salvage needs. Happy Holidays!
