I love this store on West Broad! I have found what I needed 99% of the time, from unique things to clothing and home items. The new manager is really friendly and a people person. I met her while she was working the register (I love managers that are out helping the staff and clients instead of hiding in the back or at some office). Willie that works helping people with big/heavy items has the biggest heart I've seen in a retail store. No matter how busy he is (during the 50% off sale that man is running and sweating like crazy) he always has a big smile on his face and makes sure he helps everybody before taking a single break. He treats people with care giving each customer the special attention they deserve. Willie takes such pride on his work that once I was getting a small table by myself and when he saw me, since he was free, he came running to help me and told me to let him do his job lol. He took the table all the way to the register with his high spirits and kindness. And knowing that shopping here also helps people in need is definitely the icing on the cake. The perfect place for retail therapy because even if I'm buying something I might not even "need" the price is good and I'm helping a charity. I have shopped and donated items here for over 20 years and my husband says that I rarely just drop stuff off, it's more like an exchange lol I know prices have gone up since I started going there but hey, that's called inflation... same thing happened at the supermarket, gas station, etc... Thank you guys for being there and for the work that you do!

Very nice thrift store. Think the prices are fair and love shopping here. Never had a problem with any of the employees. They all are very nice to me and my mother when we come rather it’s day or evenings. Love they have dressing rooms as some don’t. And glad you can plug things in to try them out. Also glad they have a public bathroom. I’ve been to some that you had to leave and go down the street just to find a bathroom. I always seem to find what I’m looking for while there. I can spend hrs looking through the clothes and items here.

Great selection of clothing, organized by color and not by size. This normally turns a lot of people off, but VOA has the best clothes and makes it worth the trip everytime. It not being organized by size makes it difficult and time consuming, my only complaint.

Owner Response

Hi Jenna, thank you for the review. Yes, we do organize our clothing by color and not by size. We do this for a couple reasons. First, not all of the clothing that's donated has a sizing tag. Second, there's different sizing standards among different clothing brands. Last, this organization method allows us to efficiently add thousands of new clothes onto the sales floor every day. Thanks for thrifting at Volunteers of America.
