Great place.  Some of their Blu rays and seasons of shows are a bit overpriced but not too far off of eBay.  Bargain hunting days may be behind us :(

Great prices for used books and a ton of variety and very organized.  They need more locations. And some in Canada.

This store has great deals with a huge selection. It’s a little overwhelming with how many books there are to look through. My only complaint would be the thriller books need to be in their own section separate from general fiction.

I’ll have to get photos next time, this is such a cool store!!! Their book selection is incredible. It’s also a great place to look for hard to find old video games, Funko pops, enormous and unique board game selection, great sized faith based collection, classics and “banned books”. I love heading here for fun socks or gifts/blind bags. My daughter loves Hello Kitty and they have a ton! Cool t shirts, great priced used books, it’s a really fun store. Great location with ability to pop over to Hallmark or Trader Joe’s afterward.

There are so many neat things to see here. I brought my daughter in for the first time, and she was in heaven! I do wish some of their items weren't so expensive,  but I understand inflation.

Great book/geek/collector/music store. Lot of different new and used items. Prices have been relatively market average, but definitely do your research and check the condition.
Employees have always been very helpful and pleasant.

An expensive bookstore that is much larger inside then you'd first suspect. They carry a wide variety of second hand items, with a many new titles.
Large record and music section.
Good prices and a constantly changing stock warrants repeat visits.
They also have a buy back system similar to HPB, though how much you get in return is questionable, better than nothing.

The fiancé and I love coming here to peruse the library.  They have all kinds of things that will keep you looking for more.

Some of the pricing is very bad...the guitars are a perfect example.  They are so badly over-priced that I have seen the same 12 guitars for over 2 years.  When I tried to have a discussion about this, I was shut down rather bluntly.  That dude was probably having a day and he was my only negative encounter.

Funny enough, you'll find many great deals as well.

Go see it for yourself...when your done you can go walk over to Trader Joe's and spend more money.  Great location!

Slightly high-priced, but you will find different things here that you won't find anywhere else. And as an anime lover, they have tons of anime. And Manga, and they have accessories. And action figures and figurines, it's great, there's also something for.  Everyone. No matter what kind of book you like, you will find it there. And they have new and used, and they also have a great clearance section. My kids love when I go there. Because I always come back with 10 or more items for them..

This bookstore is great for both new and used books alike. If you have the time to really search, you can find some great deals on a huge variety of titles. I've found Demon Slayers volumes for around 3 dollars, and popular YA titles I loved as a kid for $6-8, among many other deals. They also have a wide range of sections. I could easily spend hours digging through each section to see what all they have.

Love this place. Staff is always helpful and nice.  You could spend hours looking at all the books,  CDs, comics, and video game 🎮  items.  Did I mention that some items are used with great prices? Enough said..... for me when I found that out. The icing on top of the cake for me was they buy used items, and you can get cash or instore credit.  Winner winner chicken dinner!

One of the best stores to shop for so many things. Books, bags, coffee mugs, DVDs and so much more. You can find some wonderful gifts there too.My daughter and I spend a couple of hours there every time we go. If you're ever around that area go in and take a look.

Lots of fun things to look through. Large variety and quantity of books and board games and they seem reasonably priced. Video game selection is mostly filler games (the ones that aren't are at or above market value). Very clean store and well organized.

This place was huge!! So many options and the kids books! Loved!! We are reading the Little House on the Prairie books and I was able to get the few books we were missing for no more than $2 a book! Can't wait to go back!

First time at 2nd & Charles and didn't expect it to be so big! It's probably, the same size if not bigger bigger than Barnes and Noble or Books-a-Million but has a better vibe, I feel. You could probably spend hours in here to see everything. Will definitely come back!

Totally not joking when I say I drove 3+ hours with 2 of my friends in tow just to come here.  I lived close to another 2nd and charles in Georgia so after moving back to Ohio, I yearned for their wonderful balance of new and used books! We weren't even 30 ft in the store when one of my friends stated "yea, we are going to need another cart". I think we spent a good 2 hours in there. I was happy to see so many young kids in there excited about reading.  An impressive grouping of astrology products.  An additional clearance room in the back, friendly staff.  The only slightly downside was the lack of manga BUT I already own quite a bit so alot of it was I just already had what they had in stock.  10/10.

Great selection of books, CDs (new & used), and even Vinyl records. If you need any books or music, or if you’d just like to browse around their large selection, I recommend this place.

They also have a pretty solid selection of musical instruments.

I do love this place! 2nd & Charles is one of my go-to spots for books, physical media, board games, and stocking stuffers. They are located in Town & Country, which is super convenient as they sit next to Kroger, Petco, Trader Joe's, etc etc. I could spend hours in this store and still not explore everything. They have something for everyone.

Four stars instead of five because I have tried to sell here a few times, and they are quick to take your items, but offer pennies on the dollar.

Great place to buy books, older video games, and DVD's. Not a great selection of PS4 & PS5 games, though.

I love going to this store to shop, especially for board games. They tend to be overpriced but occasionally you will find a really good price (especially with their clearance room). Going to sell to them however is super disappointing. They give you quarters for books/puzzles.

The staff is friendly and they have a good selection of books. The prices are lower than other used bookstores in the area. Only four stars because I wish they had more children's nonfiction books but they are doing the best with the space.

Mix of used and knew.  The new is usually a hodgepodge of cool stuff at MSRP.  The used is fairly well priced.  Their inventory on used does not change quickly but their variety of categories is large so I always have something to browse.  Bring a bag or they will sell you one...

I can look in that book store for hours. No matter if it is vinyl,  CDCs, books on love spells, Aviator, Disney, horror, mysteries. I was looking for children's coloring books and found not only that but educational coloring books (Sesame Street)BUT BRING YOUR OWN BAG.. They don't have them for FREE, and you will need one. This is the bag that I bought.

Holy crow this place was huge! Much bigger than we thought it would be, plus lots of options for new and used books. The checkout clerk was very helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend shopping here instead of some of the other shops of there or the online big retailers.

A great store with lots of Fun Collectibles books music. Friendly staff. Good prices. New and used items. They could organize their music selection a little better especially the CDs. But overall a great store to find cool stuff. I hate revolve are we farther down or not

The prices can be a little steep, but the staff are friendly, there is a huge selection, and its fun to just browse and look at all the books, toys, games, music and more.

I love books old and new. This place has it all and some, everyone who I've come in contact with working here has always been pleasant and helpful. My only gripe, some of the customers. Some of the customers are ridiculous not just here but the whole town and country shopping center. The chances of coming across a Karen in the wild is incredible, and that is a bad thing.

I really like this store, but their music is so loud that I can't shop there, even with noise-canceling headphones on. I asked an employee about it and they just said "depends on where you are in the store." I had to put down my items and leave without spending any money today.

Nice selection of books and used/new records.  I like to buy things,  but I don't like to wait 20 minutes for checkout.      Really,  one (very slow) cashier on Saturday?  I wasn't the only one who walked out after intending to buy something. This is the 3rd consecutive visit this has happened.   I give up.

Don't shop here they don't honor an item priced by them...they should honor any priced by them but they don't or won't. Plainly put bad business.

PS. Don't bring in anything to trade they will usually offer you near next to nothing. I brought in a Well taken care of Sony wireless PS3 controller and a 3rd party PS3 controller both in great working order and I just recently replaced the battery in the Sony branded wireless controller. Sony branded wireless controllers retail between 30-40 dollars..... The other 3rd party about 25 brand new.... I waited about 1 and a half hours to find out my TOTAL offer was 8 cash or 11 in trade!!!!!! On nearly 50 dollars in retail value!!!! 8 cash was their offer!!! For both!!!! Those are worse than crack price offers. Official Sony branded PS3 wireless controllers in very good and nearly perfect working order is becoming harder to find. 8 dollars (their cash offer) is less than what the 3rd party controller cost me. It's a shame how this business only thrives on those who don't know the value of what they bring in and they say yes to these unfair cash/trade offers that are way under what they should be. They are hoping to catch those that are desperate enough to take a massive loss for their own financial gain. That's how this business and many others like it thrives. ..... Off the hard work of the desperate. Sell on Facebook marketplace or heck even scary Craigslist..... At least there you have a better chance of selling your stuff for closers to its actual value. Stay away from this place. We need to stand up and speak out against places like this ......... The richer getting richer ....poorer getting poorer.

Good selection of products overall.

When it comes to their books, I believe them to be fairly priced for the most part.  My main issue with this place, however, is their pricing on all other media they carry, namely video games.  They are charging extreme prices on gaming items/consoles/etc, far more expensive than the actual market price.

Be patient, do your research.  I see so many items in here with price tags anywhere from $50-$100+ higher than other local shops or eBay.  PriceCharting.com will be your best friend to make sure you’re not getting taken advantage of.

GameSwap down the road is a way better choice for retro gaming needs. Just the other day, I found a N64 console for $75 at GameSwap, and the same model at 2nd & Charles for $175, no difference between them.  Not additional box, controllers or anything.  Just 2&C charging way more than they should be.  Don’t get taken advantage of!

This is horrible, I went to sell a 100+ dollar the last of us figure set, and to sell 300+ Yu-Gi-Oh cards. They tried to give me 15 dollars cash. And there were 40 movies along with it. Never go here

Have sold many items here over the past two years and each experience has not been good. Very rude and woke staff. Dropped off a large number of books to sell that filled five totes and the girl said it would take a couple days as it was a large number of  books. Later that evening I get a text saying the offer is ready and I call and they say oh no the number you received is incorrect we will call you when your offer is ready. A week later I finally get a call saying the offer is ready and they only took less than half of what I dropped off. I was not allowed to take the totes out to my car and it was a large number of books and had to use their tiny shopping carts to take it out. I asked the girl for assistance and she just ignored me. VERY disappointed in the service each time I come. I will be doing business with half price books from here on out. At least they will actually take the items you would not. This review is for the Dayton location. Will never be coming back again.
