Dude is cool as hell. Always willing to help if you need some info about a title. We chopped it up for about 20 minutes. Will definitely go back.

I make special trips to Grove city with 3 stops. This is one of them. It's rather small but is packed with comic books, toys and some vintage. The owner will also do business with you for trade or cash on high end and comic book KEYS.

The owner Daren is super cool and friendly. I've always had an amazing experience when shopping here. I first discovered Skylarks about 3 years ago at their location that used to be on Broadway. I was just there before I went on my cruise and picked up some Sonic comic books to read on the plane and a few movies. I would highly recommend checking Skylarks out.

We were out doing some Christmas shopping and stopped by Skylarks to grab some gift cards for our nephews. We had never been in the new location and wanted to take a look around to make sure purchasing the gift cards would be worthwhile. We were met by the owner who was super friendly and of course knowledgeable. He showed us around the store and pointed out some of his personal favorites. We found several things that the kids would enjoy, but it was also nice to have that interaction with the owner during such a busy time of the year. He treated us like friends who he was sharing his passion with. I would recommend checking them out if you haven't.

I freaking love this place! Went in tonight to check out the new store and picked up a few older comics. I just started getting back into comics and this is my go to place for the older stuff. The owner is an awesome dude and I am just so happy that we have a comic store here in gc cause there ain't too many close by. Check this place out if you are a comic fan or you like some vintage toys. This place rocks!

Cannot say enough about the customer service that I experienced at the store. I came into the store without a lot of knowledge to the items that I was looking for and the staff was nothing but accommodating and caring. I was able to find what I needed and at better prices than other places that I looked. I was leaving the theater and going to my car when I saw some cool looking figures through the glass in this place, had to check it out. Went in not realizing it was 9 and it was supposed to be closed but the cool guy at the counter which turned out to be the owner let me browse around. The place was awesome and made me relive my childhood and how cool collectibles always were before having to live the busy life haha. He gave me an amazing price on a hasbro count dooku lightsaber I never thought I’d see again, bought it with no questions asked and a cool goku figure to go with it. Thank you so much man, I can’t wait to stop by again!

Man I was at Skylarks just the other day and he was the only one in town who had exactly what I was looking for. No one was a bigger Evil Kenieval fan than I was growing up. He had the motor cycle the doll and even a piece of one of his crashed helmets. Then I look to the right and in the case basically glowing buy me, was the Wonder Woman doll with whip! Favorite comic book store and vintage collectable store in my area! They always have a huge selection of collectibles such as funko pops, vintage Legos, hot wheels, comics, and more. The guy in charge is super kind and prices things very fairly. I tell all my friends about this place.

A nice little place!

Small shop with pretty good  mix of new versus older items. The things I typically look for / get are 90s action figures and comics. I kicked myself because I bought a youngblood figure online, soon thereafter saw it there cheaper.

They also typically have some DVDs like seasons of the simpsons. They have other stuff though (higher end collectors items, childrens toys, cards),  recommend a visit.

This was a cool store with lots of vintage toys and comics. The comics seemed fairly priced. The toys were cool to look at and the prices seemed OK but more than I was willing to spend.

Hi Miranda and thank you for visiting Skylarks! I think what we have here is a simple lack of communication. The toys in the shop are priced using eBay sold listings, but not the Funkos. We go strictly by the Pop Price Guide when pricing our Pops, (the industry standard) and we mark them down when necessary according to condition.  That being said, we are a 100% transparent current market value store. Due to the fluctuation of values of everything collectible, it is impossible to be 100% correct in values 100% of the time. If it is brought to our attention that the price is not current, we will adjust it immediately on the spot if it is found to be so. No problem at all! That is true for everything in the store, not just Funkos. Simply bring whatever you are interested in up to us and ask to have the price checked and we will do so, no problem at all. If you are correct on that Lard Lad you can pick it up today for whatever it is listed for on Pop Price Guide. We are definitely not purposely trying to rip anyone off. You can’t stay in business that way. We also have probably 30- 40 or so sonic books in the shop that you might have missed. Please come back so we can get this 3 star to a 5! Boyfriend and I went in as were huge comic collectors and saw this shop after seeing Deadpool & Wolverine at the AMC next door. The store is tidy and clean and doesn't have any bad smells that shops can tend to have. The employees was very kind and tried his best to help us out. We were looking for any Sonic/Scooby at this time and they unfortunately didn't have any (both are super hard to come by at most shops and we tend to go to Yellow Springs for both of those). They had some really cool figures and Funkos, however they overpriced ones we looked at by a ton. For example they had a Funko Lard Lad that they are charging $125 for, and we have that Funko already so we looked up the price on eBay and this Funko only sells for $30-$40. I'm sure not everything is overpriced though. Still a good clean shop with friendly employees - just make sure you price everything with eBay and don't overpay!

Hi Jim thank you for shopping Skylarks. All stores are not the same. We do not have Walmart’s buying power so they pay a lot less for everything than we do.  Skylarks is a secondary market collectible store. We payed retail, $19.99 for the items in question and like any other item in our store, once it leaves the original point of purchase, it enters the secondary collectible market and is subject to the economic factors of supply and demand. If we sold items for exactly what we paid for them, what would be the point of opening the doors? Also, he did not use eBay to look up the price. He looked it up on Amazon because that is what we use to sell online. We subtract the fees that Amazon charges us to sell an item and that becomes the price in the store. You are right about something. We do not pay eBay selling fees for items in the store but there is that pesky rent, insurance, utilities exc. that we have to pay that I assure you is infinitely more than we would be paying if we were a eBay business. You are  completely wrong on eBay not being accurate value guide as far as pricing. If you are using eBay SOLD listings you are actually using the most accurate value guide because that is the most current price. WE NEVER USE EBAY LISTING PRICES. Only a idiots would do so. We also do not adjust prices on a customer to customer basis. He made exception for you in an attempt to make you happy and provide our usual awesome customer service. Also, the reason that those figures in question  were not priced is because we just opened up after the shutdown and we just got them in. You know with everything going on in the world and living under a governor who is making it basically impossible to operate a business, you should think twice about trying to damage mine. I’m doing everything I can to stay open and provide for my family.  If you would like to come in and discuss our business practices further I will refund you the $10 that you feel that you were somehow cheated out of. Or, you can just give me a call at 614 277-8170. Picked up new GI Joe classified. No price marked. When I got up to the cashier he looked on eBay and said I’m gonna have to charge you this. When I stated the going rate from a store is $19.99. He lowered the price some. eBay is a secondary market. He’s also not selling on eBay or paying eBay fees. Also, anyone can list anything on eBay for any price. eBay is not an accurate value guide and it’s poor business practice to adjust your price on a customer by customer basis. Depending on what you find on eBay at that day and time.

I knew this was coming. I almost said to you, is there anything I could do to keep you from giving a poor review? But I knew there wasn't. As a longtime store owner, you know that when the first words out of a customers mouth are, “what are your deals and where are your dollar boxes’” before they look at anything at all, they are impossible to please. You were angry at the world when you walked in and were hard to converse with. Your wife was a very nice person and was a pleasure to serve. The whole world is not a dollar box. You were treated more than fairly. If you weren’t, you wouldn’t have spent the money that you did. For the life of me I will never understand “angry comic guy.” -Love Skylark 

Was a waste a time pertaining comics. Way too many unpriced books.. most keys are are way overpriced so much you could buy a better graded copy cheaper.
Asked the owner if he had deals. Said no but would hook us up..  charged me full price plus 3.5 percent  for  using card..  lamest shop ever, wont be back.

When you are able to leave a poor review for a Vintage Toy and Comic shop for not having manga that they never claimed to have, you need to have an overhaul of the review system. Not fair to the business. 


Hardly any anime items at all if that's what you're looking for, I saw maybe 5 or 6 including a few manga on the last end cap on the far left aisle facing the door side across from the comic boxes.

The owner would not stop SINGING loud as possible while the music was blasting. It was a brutal experience! Not to mention MAJOR over priced. Dude wanted 110 dollars for a XFL foootball. Great real! WONT BE BACK

Last straw - they’re not open during posted hours. Not worth your time. Staff is not overly helpful nor knowledgeable.  I’ve been a couple times and both experiences were lackluster. Lots of unlabeled books that have to be looked up or in one case, the owner had to be called and I had to wait at the store for him to provide a price for a book that I bought for less than $5.
PS - Check out replies to any posts that are not positive - instead of trying to improve the business by embracing negative reviews, the owner often has something snarky to say to try to undermine reviews.

It seems like this place is closed every time I try to go to it. I try to go when it says it is open. The door is closed. I tried this three times throughout last month. I just tried calling the phone number within business hours and the call failed. I would love to go into the store and shop, but apparently they can’t be bothered to be open when they say they are.

I’ve probably been to this store about 10 times or so. Every time I’ve gone my experience has been lukewarm. The comics are never priced in the back issues. Several times I had to wait 20-30 minutes in my car in the parking lot because they shut the store down for a break mid day. Prices are way off when you do get the staff to price them. Highly recommend avoiding this place if you want a positive comic and collectible buying experience.

Disappointed,  i came around 4:40 as well as two other customers and it was closed and it says open until 6 on Wednesdays. the other person looking to come in said she was wondering why this place hasn't been answering their phone. It also has the sign "I assure you we are open. " clear as day in the window,  if something is happening inform customers of this so we don't go on a wild goose chase. :/
