People often come to the east Holmes County area out of interest in woodworking and craftsmanship. However, few local furniture-making places actually rely on hand-tools, as people may mistakenly imagine. If you are interested in the raw process of woodworking and seeing some of the incredible results, no place should be higher on your list to visit than here. People make pilgrimages from across the country to see this hand tools shop. The Amish owner is extremely knowledgeable.

Very pleased with my first visit. Took in a number of old woodworking tools to exchange for some new (to me) blacksmithing tools. Dan and I had a good talk about his pricing philosophy (both for buying and selling), and I am confident that he neither underpaid me for what I was selling nor overcharged for what I bought. The selection was very good, ranging from solid, basic tools to more unusual specialist items. If you’re looking for decorative antiques, look elsewhere. If you want quality tools to actually use, they’ve got it.

If your passion is tools, antique tools, and lots of them, this is the place for you. On the day I went, they weren’t very busy and the gentleman running the store was awesome! I spent way too long talking to him but I still left the store with some very good finds!
