I have worked with Fred for 5 years consigning paintings, rugs, furnishings, collectibles. Today he informed me that my $7500 Brunell de Neuville oil painting walked out of the store under his watch 3 weeks ago. He refused to acknowledge any responsibility, didn't explain why he chose not to contact me immediately, refused to file a police report, refused to contact his insurance company and furthermore told me that perhaps it would be best for me to sue him for the loss because he had no intention of either helping me recover the theft or compensating me for the loss. I have lived in Lake Oswego for 12 years and have a great reputation and continue to work there as an architect. Please join me in boycotting Frederick E Squires store. If you have anything consigned there, I recommend that you retrieve it. BTW I filed a police report and my pursuing all mean to bring this fool to justice.
